Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Proper Use of Sukuna’s Technique

After leaving the supermarket,

Nao walked into a side alley, her cute face twisted in frustration.

"President, how did it go?"

Takajō Jōjirō stepped out from the shadows and asked calmly.

Nao leaned back against the wall, arms crossed, and sighed.

"Terribly."

"Negotiations failed?"

"There were no negotiations. Period."

"Sounds rough."

"Right?! That guy's a total lost cause!"

Nao vented with gusto.

"Is his personality that bad?"

"Worse. Completely insufferable."

Nao bit her lip. She was absolutely not forgetting Ren anytime soon.

"This might be more troublesome than expected."

Takajō rubbed his chin, frowning. Letting an unpredictable superpowered rogue wander freely was not ideal.

"No. We'll take care of it tonight."

Nao said flatly.

"Tonight?"

"Mm-hmm."

"Looks like the president already has a plan."

Takajō smiled faintly.

"Well… maybe not a plan," Nao scratched the back of her head. "He took my DV cam. That thing has GPS tracking. Even if he doesn't show up, I've got plenty of ways to find him. But if he does show…"

"All the better."

"Exactly."

"He must be strong, huh? Not many people can steal something from you."

"Right? That's why we need to get there early and prep a guaranteed strategy."

Nao grinned slyly.

Takajō hesitated.

"President… this doesn't really align with the code of honor, does it?"

"He threw honor out the window first. I'm just matching his energy."

Nao shrugged.

"I feel like we could just… sit down and talk this out?"

"Then pay for my DV cam. I'll gladly sit down and talk."

Nao held out her hand and curled her fingers in a demanding gesture.

Takajō's expression froze.

"...Actually, you're totally right. Extreme times call for extreme measures."

A proper DV cam was expensive. And he,

Was broke.

"Alright, let's move out and scope the area."

Nao's gloom turned into cheerful confidence in an instant. She was always this adaptable.

"President, do you already have a detailed battle plan?"

Takajō followed behind her curiously.

"Of course I do."

"Explain it to me?"

"We just need to go like this… then like that… and finally, a little bit of this, and bam, we've got him!"

Nao clapped her hands together with enthusiasm.

"Ah~ I get it now!"

Takajō nodded in sudden realization.

"You followed all that?"

"Absolutely…"

"Great…"

"Not a single word!"

"…"

Nao stared at him blankly.

"You moron. Go die."

She exploded on the spot.

That Evening

Apartment 501

Ren returned home with groceries in hand, only to be stunned by the scene inside.

"...Is this even my place anymore?"

It was somehow messier than when he left.

"Uwahhh~"

"Gomenasai, Onii-chan! I… I messed everything up…"

A sniffling voice came from inside.

Chizuru Akiyama stumbled to the door and dropped to her knees, looking as if she were confessing to a crime.

"So blindness does make daily life difficult."

Ren muttered to himself.

He didn't actually blame her.

He was just amazed she'd managed to knock over so many bottles of mystery sauces… and spread them evenly across the floor.

"I'm really sorry!"

Chizuru bowed again.

She felt like she'd betrayed his trust, and was afraid.

Afraid of being kicked out. Or worse, slashed on the spot.

Ren sighed.

"Yeah… better to leave expert tasks to the experts. As for you, little sister… you just focus on being cute."

"Eh?"

"Y-You're not mad?"

Chizuru looked stunned.

Ren stepped into the entryway and changed shoes before answering.

"I'm your Onii-chan now. Sure, I'll be strict about daily things, but I won't blow up just because my little sister has a physical disability. That would be idiotic."

He might be arrogant, but he wasn't heartless.

"I… I see…"

"Yup~ That's the deal."

Ren shrugged, then stepped past her and into the kitchen.

"Arigato, Onii-chan."

Chizuru bowed again, more sincerely this time.

Her opinion of him was shifting.

"No need for thanks. Let's just have some salad tonight, okay?"

"Anything's fine. I'll eat whatever Onii-chan makes."

"Good. Then stay right here. Don't wander. And at least keep your clothes clean, I hate seeing filth."

"Got it."

"Good girl."

Ren smiled faintly.

Let's hope she's this obedient when it comes to warming my bed later…

Then, he pulled out the vegetables he bought and got to work.

"Hachi."

Technique: Activated.

Two fingers rose.

In an instant,

A precision-adjusted Cleave sliced through the air, its strength calibrated to the cursed energy within the ingredients.

Even the air warped.

In a flash, the vegetables were neatly sliced and arranged onto plates with near surgical perfection.

Now this… is the proper use of technique.

In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, Sukuna was a godlike killer.

But here?

He made one hell of a chef.

"I really am the coolest."

Ren couldn't help admiring himself a little.

No one else could make gourmet salad this flashy.

He grabbed two clean plates from the sterilizer and carefully plated the salad, drizzling on dressing and ketchup for the final touch.

Perfect.

"Dinner's ready."

He picked up the trays and walked into the living room.

Every step brimming with gentlemanly elegance.
