Chapter 7 - Chapter 6: A Safe Place-- For Now

After no traces of the virus were found, Hamza and Ripper were released. They were ordered to go to Commander Roy's office to deliver a report on what they had gathered and what had happened.

Hamza looked at Silas and told him that he was safe now, and that the government was responsible for his situation.

"Don't worry about another robot attacking you," he said.

Silas replied, "Okay."

Hamza and Ripper went to see Commander Roy.

"Commander, we have a report for you," they said.

Commander Roy told them to sit down calmly, then said,

"Explain everything that happened in detail."

Ripper began the report. He explained that after leaving the city of Rifle to gather information, while scouting the area outside the city, they reached a place called Raid Killer.

Commander Roy was surprised. He said,

"I see now. That city was reported to be one of the first places affected by the virus, with many deaths. That alone isn't surprising… but the fact that you returned alive is."

Then he asked,

"Tell me about the boy. Where did you find him? What killed David and Ayaan? David was one of the strongest people in our city, Rifle."

Hamza answered that David sacrificed himself so they could escape.

"The robots there think like humans. It wasn't easy to get out without fighting," he said.

He continued,

"We saved a young boy and Amina. She had collapsed after her body was controlled."

He also stated that Ayaan was killed by Amina.

Commander Roy asked again,

"Did you see any other humans, besides the boy?"

Hamza and Ripper shook their heads.

"There was no one else there."

"Alright. You're dismissed," Commander Roy said.

Immediately, his phone rang. Lowering his voice, he said,

"David is dead… and now there is no one who can stop our plan."

Silas was still sitting in the hospital. A nurse approached him and said,

"We tested your blood. There is no trace of the virus."

Then he was asked about his age. Silas didn't know how old he really was. Afraid of raising suspicion, he answered,

"19."

He was handed a card.

"Take this. Follow the instructions on the number written here. You will go to a large house. A man will be there, and he will guide you to where you will sleep until further orders."

Silas wanted to meet Hamza and Ripper before leaving. He waited outside the office, and when they came out, he met them.

He told them that he had been given a room. He lowered his head, thanking them for saving him. He also told them that one day he would become a powerful person and change this world.

Hamza patted his head and said,

"Grow strong. If you want to change the world, you must endure."

That was where Silas said goodbye to the group who had saved him.

Silas began walking toward the address he had been given. When he arrived, he saw an old man—ordinary in appearance, yet not someone who felt weak.

Silas said,

"I was sent here to get a room."

The old man asked,

"The number?"

Silas replied,

"473, Room 5."

The old man led him to a small room. There was only one bed.

Silas entered the room. He saw something new. Before, he used to sleep against walls or in open spaces, but today he was inside a room, sleeping alone.

He threw himself onto the bed, searching for sleep. He had been traveling since the day before, with robots chasing him, trying to kill him.

As he lay on the bed, a heavy exhaustion spread through his entire body—

like someone who had just climbed out of a deep pit
