"Brother, you're amazing! Your training can even cause earthquakes?"

The little girl stared at him with wide, dark eyes, her face filled with admiration.

"It's not that exaggerated," Jiang Ye coughed, feeling a bit embarrassed.

Looks like I'll have to test my strength downstairs from now on.

Otherwise, making such a racket late at night might make the neighbors think something else is going on.

"Nii-chan, you keep training. I'm going to bed now," Jiang Ting announced.

"What did you call me?" Jiang Ye glanced at her.

"Nii-chan," Jiang Ting blinked, her voice small. "My classmates call me that too. Don't you like it?"

Jiang Ye pinched her soft, pale cheek. "I do. Go to sleep now."

"Okay, good night, Brother."

After Jiang Ting and Li Anping had left, Jiang Ye approached the wall he had punched earlier.

A fine crack had appeared on the wall's surface.

The old house's yellowed plaster had already been brittle, and Jiang Ye's punch had caused it to split open completely.

Fortunately, only the wall's surface had cracked; the underlying structure remained intact.

Still, the demonstration was astonishing.

Jiang Ye had unleashed such power from over a meter away.

In a real combat test, the results would undoubtedly be even more spectacular.

"So this is cosmic energy?" Jiang Ye nodded inwardly. "Truly a transcendent power—immensely potent."

Without stellar energy, he could never have shattered the wall from a distance with mere physical strength.

It was stellar energy that granted him this extraordinary ability.

"But this stellar energy really does diminish with each use," Jiang Ye sensed. The wisp of stellar energy he had channeled for that punch had been completely expended.

Stellar energy originates from the cosmos and cannot be generated by the human body.

Once depleted, it can only be replenished through cosmic tempering.

Fortunately, Jiang Ye still possessed nearly ten thousand wisps of stellar energy, so he didn't need to worry about running out just yet.

After a moment, he sat cross-legged, and a panel materialized before him:

Cultivation Techniques]

[Star Martial Cultivation Method: Perfection]

[Eight Trigrams Thunderclap Fist: Small Success (5%)]

[Star Martial Advancement Method: Entry (1%)]

"Three more cosmic tempering sessions remain in the second semester of third-year high school."

Jiang Ye mused inwardly, "Once I reach Small Success in the Advancement Method and complete these three cosmic temperings, I should be able to achieve my first breakthrough."

Originally, he hadn't been very confident about breaking through before the College Entrance Examination. But this cosmic tempering had been exceptionally thorough, boosting his confidence to unprecedented levels.

Three more cosmic temperings, and he'd definitely break through!

Once stellar energy transformed his body to a certain point, he'd naturally shatter the shackles of life.

How far had his transformation progressed? Jiang Ye couldn't tell.

But he'd find out during the next assessment.

"The problem is, three cosmic temperings will cost at least 100,000," Jiang Ye sighed inwardly.

A single penny can stump even a hero.

Where was he going to find that kind of money? He barely had enough for his Martial Dao Dietary Supplement.

"Forget it. Time to cultivate."

Jiang Ye closed his eyes and began practicing the Star Martial Advancement Method.

Reaching Small Success in the Advancement Method was now his top priority.

The next day, at Ancheng Third High School, Jiang Ye returned after a week's absence. Everything was exactly as he remembered.

As Jiang Ye walked into Senior Class One, every student turned to stare at him with strange, unnerving gazes.

Jiang Ye had been absent from school for seven days. They had learned he hadn't taken leave but had stubbornly endured seven days in the Purification Pool.

"He's practically a superhuman!"

Everyone stared at Jiang Ye in awe and disbelief.

Jiang Ye ignored them, walking to his usual training spot in the classroom.

"Jiang Ye, you were born a demon," Wang Zi'ang chanted beside him. "You fear neither hardship nor pain. To you, emotions and desires are as bland as plain water."

Jiang Ye glanced at him with a peculiar expression. "Are you crazy?"

"Are you crazy?" Wang Zi'ang clutched his head, his pupils wide with shock. "How did you survive seven days in that hellhole? Have you been through the eighteen hells? How can you endure so much?"

Jiang Ye nodded. "Something like that."

Wasn't the second level of the Martial Dao Heavenly Ladder essentially the eighteen hells? No, it was probably even more unbearable than hell itself.

On the other side, Zhao Qingli opened her eyes and also looked at Jiang Ye.

"Seven days," Zhao Qingli murmured, a hint of shock crossing her usually cold and arrogant face.

If it had been just a day or two, she wouldn't have been so surprised.

But seven days?

She had seen people endure hardship before, but never anyone who could endure this much!

A handsome, ordinary classmate who's unbelievably resilient, Zhao Qingli mentally labeled Jiang Ye.

Further away, Zeng Xueqing stared intently at Jiang Ye.

Hell is empty, and all the devils are here! she thought darkly.

A moment later, Martial Arts Teacher Cao Feng entered the room.

"Jiang Ye?"

Cao Feng's pupils narrowed slightly, a flicker of surprise crossing his face. But the expression vanished as quickly as it appeared.

He looked at Jiang Ye and said sternly, "Jiang Ye, have you achieved Entry into the Advancement Method?"

He had already sensed it while Jiang Ye was still in the Purification Pool.

Jiang Ye nodded. "I've achieved Entry."

Cao Feng nodded slightly. "Good. Keep up the effort."

As the Martial Arts Teacher for the Elite Class, he had to admit he had misjudged Jiang Ye.

But he didn't mind.

Having a student who could surprise him was a good sign, suggesting the class might produce another seed for the twenty-five school alliance.

Even with Jiang Ye's current level, he might only qualify for the lower-ranked schools in the alliance.

But it was still a positive development.

Cao Feng said no more, stepped onto the podium, and began the Martial Arts Class.

The day passed quickly.

Before long, it was time for school to end.

Jiang Ye was about to pack up when his wrist communicator suddenly vibrated.

"Chen Zilu?" He checked the device.

Jiang Ye's heart skipped a beat.

This was the first time Chen Zilu had contacted him since leaving for White Dragon University, thousands of miles away.

He wondered if making a call across such a vast distance would unlock a new achievement.

Without hesitation, Jiang Ye answered the call.

"Jiang Ye?" A sweet voice came through the communicator.

"Teacher Chen," Jiang Ye replied. "What's up?"

"Director Zhang told me you lasted seven days in the cosmic tempering?" Chen Zilu's voice carried a hint of surprise.

"Did the director tell you?" Jiang Ye asked.

Chen Zilu hummed in affirmation. "You're practically half my student, so of course he would tell me."

"But you—why didn't you share such important news with me?"

Hearing the faint hint of resentment in the girl's voice, Jiang Ye was taken aback.

He cleared his throat and said, "You're back at school now. I didn't want to interrupt your cultivation."

"Hmph!" Chen Zilu scoffed, rolling her eyes. "When you were constantly bothering me before, were you worried about interrupting my cultivation then?"
