Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: I Am Your God

Alex and Ashley returned to The Seven's headquarters.

Walking into the vice president's office, they saw Madelyn, no longer young, yet still carrying mature charm, sitting behind her desk.

In the TV series, Homelander relied heavily on this old woman.

Homelander, who had never experienced a mother's love, obtained what he wanted from this woman.

He even later killed Madelyn, then imprisoned a shapeshifter.

Whenever he needed comfort, he would have the shapeshifter turn into Madelyn's appearance.

It had to be said, the entire plot was very twisted, very hardcore.

"Ashley, let me have a word with Homelander," Madelyn waved her hand, signaling the assistant to leave.

After Ashley closed the door, Madelyn walked over. The faint fragrance of Chanel perfume on her body instantly drilled into Alex's nose.

The old woman cupped Alex's face with her hands.

"Tell me, why did you say those things at the press conference."

"If you have any worries, you can tell me."

"You should know, I always welcome you confiding in me."

The original Homelander might have liked this scene very much.

Unfortunately, he was not the original Homelander. Alex only felt disgust.

He grabbed Madelyn's hands and pulled them down, smiling as he said, "First, I don't have any worries."

"Second, don't touch me with your hands anymore."

"Especially since these hands might have just pumped milk. Just thinking about it makes me sick," He directly said what was on his mind.

The feeling was unbelievably refreshing. No more groveling like in his previous life, facing a disgusting superior. Now he said whatever he thought.

'So good!' (Homelander's inner voice.)

Madelyn looked completely stunned. She almost thought the Homelander in front of her was someone else in disguise.

Homelander had always been infatuated with her.

'How can he say something like this?'

She wasn't willing to give up. She immediately took two steps back and sat on the sofa, deliberately lifting her skirt to reveal her legs in stockings.

Madelyn patted her legs, smiled and said, "You're probably tired. Come here. I'll help you relax."

Alex felt his eyes burn. He raised both hands, "Don't make this more difficult, Madelyn."

"You know what?"

"The perfume on you can barely cover up your old woman smell anymore."

"God, how did I ever…"

"Anyway, I'm not the same me anymore."

Madelyn's expression stiffened instantly.

She had already used her trump card, yet this move didn't work on Homelander anymore.

Her face darkened at once.

She stopped playing those tricks used to coax children, lowered her skirt, stood up, and said, "Fine, then let me tell you."

"Have you thought about what you just said to the reporters?"

"It will cause your approval rating to plummet, and it will make the company's stock price fall!"

Alex spread his hands, "I don't care."

"Right now I only want to do what I want to do."

"And you'd better not interfere with me!"

Madelyn's face changed, "Homelander, do you know what you're saying?"

"Without Vought, you are nothing!"

"If Vought can make one Homelander famous, it can make a second, a third!"

Alex burst out laughing, "HAHAHAHA! That's exactly where your problem lies!"

"I really don't know what makes you think that you mere mortals can control me, a GOD?"

Whoosh!

A fierce wind swept through the office.

Alex's feet lifted off the ground, the Stars and Stripes cape behind him whipped wildly like blazing fire.

Madelyn was startled.

She hadn't expected Homelander's reaction to be this extreme.

Especially now that Homelander's eyes were beginning to glow.

It was as if magma was churning inside them.

"W-what are you trying to do?"

Madelyn said in a deep voice, "If you hurt me, you will regret it!"

"Tomorrow, no, this afternoon!"

"All the news will report that Homelander slaughtered Vought executives. Your reputation will hit rock bottom!"

"You will no longer be the people's hero!"

"They will only spit on you!"

"You will become worthless!"

As she spoke, Madelyn carefully observed Homelander's changes.

She discovered that the light in Homelander's eyes gradually receded.

His body floating in midair also descended back to the ground.

Madelyn sneered inwardly.

She knew very well that this superhuman had grown up in a laboratory since childhood, with an incomplete personality.

Homelander desperately craved recognition.

He cared too much about his reputation.

As long as she seized this point.

She could control him.

"Yes, that's right," Madelyn smiled, sat down on the sofa, kicked off her high heels, and lifted her toes, "Come, kiss it."

"And then you can do whatever you want."

Alex looked at this old woman. Revealing a sunny smile.

"I already told you, don't do this anymore."

"My dear Madelyn."

"You're really disgusting!"

Zzzz! Zoom! Zoom!

The next second, two streams of red laser light tore out of Alex's eyes and slammed straight into Madelyn's face.

There wasn't even time for a scream.

Her skull burst apart with a wet, violent crack. Bone fragments, brain matter, and blood sprayed outward like shrapnel, splattering the walls, the desk, and the ceiling.

The office turned into a nightmare in an instant. Papers were soaked red. The monitor sparked and died, half covered in gore. Chunks of bone clattered onto the floor, rolling to a stop.

Thud!

That foot, wrapped in black stockings, dropped heavily to the ground. The leg twitched once, then went still. The body swayed, then crumpled, folding into itself like a broken puppet.

Alex looked down at the corpse. Killing someone for the first time made him feel uncomfortable.

Killing was not something to be happy about. But it also wasn't a burden.

This old woman still treated him as the same Homelander as before, with a twisted mother complex, shackled by the so-called reputation.

Then he didn't mind turning someone who wanted to sit on his head into a corpse.

This was a principle.

'Those who bully me, insult me, or hurt me must be killed.'

After taking some time to adjust himself, Alex walked behind the desk and sat down in the vice president's chair.

Then he called out, "Ashley, let someone come in and clean this up."

The door opened, Ashley walked in with a blank look, "Did something get knocked over?"

Then she suddenly saw Madelyn without a head.

The tablet in her hands instantly dropped to the floor.

She was about to scream.

But where she saw Homelander smiling, leaning against the headrest, holding one finger vertically in front of his lips with eyes closed, Ashley forcibly swallowed the scream that had reached her throat.

"Very good."

Alex clapped without any sincerity, "Excellent. I'm starting to appreciate you, Ashley."

"How about this. From today on, you are my assistant."

"Madelyn's position will be yours from now on, but you only listen to me. Don't worry, I'll talk to Edgar about the change in position."

He glanced at the corpse on the sofa, "I believe Edgar will be meeting with me very soon. Don't you think?"

Ashley's body trembled slightly. She nodded and said, "You decide, boss."

"No, call me Homelander."

Alex stood up and pointed at the office, "Clean this up. Next, I—"

At this moment.

Lines of information appeared on his retina.

The corner of Alex's mouth lifted.
