Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Graduation Test

As Shunsui sat quietly in the back of the classroom and watched Guy do his pushups, the graduation test had begun, and names were being called one by one.

While he waited, his mind drifted to the one thing that made him really focus on being a shinobi, his zanpakuto, Katen Kyokotsu.

Back on Earth, he had watched the Bleach anime many times. He knew the name of the sword and the exact words needed to release its shikai.

That knowledge had been enough for him. When he first summoned the twin blades as a small child, he had whispered the activation command under his breath. He hoped that it work and it did. He did not need to communicate with the spirit to get to know his name or get mastery over the blade.

The blades transformed into their Shikai state with just the voice command.

What surprised him most was that there was no zanpakuto spirit inside the sword.

No mysterious woman with long hair, no voice in his head giving advice or refusing to cooperate. The sword was completely his and he had full control over it.

Because there was no spirit, he was free to use the shikai however he wanted. He was excited about this because according to him it might be the second most overpowered Shikai in the bleach verse. As for who the first place goes to....does it even need to be told?

Anyways, The Shikai ability of Katen Kyokotsu let him bring any children's game to reality. And by any, he truly meant any game he could remember or imagine.

He was not stuck with only the few games shown in the anime. There was no limit set by some zanpaktou spirit's knowledge.

And if was him that made the rules for the game and certainly not the spirit. Since he made the rules himself, he could decide how each game worked, what counted as winning or losing, and what happened to the loser. Of course, he could not just abuse it. The game needs to be fair after all.

Shunsui had played plenty of children's games back on Earth. Tag, hide and seek, red light green light, musical chairs, hopscotch, even silly ones like Simon Says or paper-rock-scissors with twists. He had also played countless board games as well countless children games on PC and mobile games.

Now you might say do those games even count as a child's game?

Well, Shunsui played them as a child in his previous life and so did his sister's children. They started using mobile phone when they were three. He thought of them as children's games and thus he knew that he could bring those abilities to reality. So his shikai ability was very versatile.

He could turn any of the games into deadly or harmless battles depending on his mood. To be honest, he already knew his shikai was overpowered. Way too strong for a fresh genin.

The question was whether to openly reveal his Zanpaktou and his abilities or not.

'Well then, I am too lazy to hide my powers,' he thought with a small smirk under his hat. 'I will just use my shikai whenever I feel like it. Besides, even with just my shikai and my large chakra reserves, I might be a very tough opponent to deal with. Thankfully there is no zanpakuto spirit in my sword to complain or get in my way.'

He had not unlocked bankai yet. But Shunsui was sure that it was even more overpowered than what was showed in the anime.

The anime showed only one play for the original Kyoraku's bankai, but Shunsui was sure that once he reached that level, he would not be limited to a single story.

He could enact any play or drama he wanted. A tragedy where the enemy slowly lost hope, a comedy where everything went wrong for them in funny ways, or even a romance that ended in their defeat. The possibilities made him chuckle quietly to himself.

'That would be fun. But bankai sounds like a lot of work to achieve. Maybe I will get there someday. Or maybe not. Either way, shikai is already enough to keep me alive in the Naruto verse mostly.'

As Shunsui dreamed about playing different games with his enemies, his name finally got called. "Kyoraku Shunsui," the sensei announced in a tired voice.

Shunsui stood up slowly, stretching his arms like he had just woken from a long nap.

Might Guy who was doing his pushups, jumped to his feet and gave him a big thumbs-up. "Good luck, my youthful friend! Show them the burning power of youth!"

Shunsui just gave him a small nod and a lazy wave. "Thanks, Guy."

He walked to the front of the training ground where the sensei waited with two other examiners. The area was marked with white lines on the dirt, and a few wooden posts stood around for substitution practice.

Shunsui stopped in the center, hands in his kimono sleeves, hat still shading his eyes.

"Begin with the Clone Technique," the sensei ordered.

Shunsui raised one hand slowly. Chakra flowed easily through his body thanks to his massive reserves and chakra control training.

He formed the seals without hurry: Ram, Snake, Tiger. "Clone Technique," he said in a bored tone.

Five perfect illusion clones appeared around him in a neat circle. Each one looked exactly like him, down to the pink kimono, straw hat, and sleepy expression. They even yawned at the same time he did.

The sensei nodded once. He hid his shock of seeing Shunsui perform one handed seals. "Good. Now the Transformation Jutsu."

Shunsui sighed softly. He formed the seals again: Dog, Boar, Ram. "Transformation Jutsu."

In a puff of smoke, his body changed into an exact copy of their sensei. The gray hair, the strict frown, the jonin vest, even the vein that always popped on the forehead when he got angry.

The fake sensei crossed his arms and glared at the real one. "Is this good enough?" the transformed Shunsui asked in the sensei's exact voice.

One of the examiners almost laughed but covered it with a cough. The real sensei rubbed his temples. "Change back."

Another puff of smoke, and Shunsui returned to normal. He adjusted his hat. "Last one. Substitution Jutsu."

The sensei threw three kunai straight at him in quick succession. Shunsui did not flinch. He formed the seals: Tiger, Boar, Ox, Dog, Snake. "Substitution Jutsu."

His body vanished just as the kunai struck. A wooden log appeared in his place, cut deeply by the kunais.

Shunsui was meanwhile sitting casually on top of one of the posts ten meters away, legs dangling. "Done," he said simply.
