Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 2: GLITCHED PT. 2

All I ever wanted was to live my life modestly… but now everything had become a mess.

As the Dimension Eater began to feast upon my dimension, I couldn't help but feel responsible for what was happening. People were dying simply from the energy it emitted. Buildings twisted unnaturally, the sky flickered like broken glass, and reality itself seemed to tear apart at the seams.

It all felt connected to the dream I had been having.

Could it mean that if this thing was not stopped, I would be trapped in a void of emptiness forever?

There was so much to understand, yet so little I could truly grasp.

Then it hit me.

If I was the cause… then maybe the cause needed to disappear.

And so, I began walking toward the Dimension Eater.

Suddenly, something or rather, someone grabbed my hand.

I couldn't properly describe the figure. It had a human like shape, but no face. Its body glowed faintly, emitting the same strange energy as the Dimension Eater itself.

"Don't do it," the figure said. "If you die, things will only become worse. You are not the cause… you are the solution."

Before I could respond, the figure touched my forehead.

In an instant, my mind was flooded with an unbearable amount of information. Images, worlds, voices, timelines, far too much for my brain to process. Pain shot through my skull as if my very thoughts were being torn apart.

And yet… when it ended, I remembered nothing.

When I asked what he had shown me, he replied calmly:

"I am not allowed to tell you anything. But if you are unable to comprehend what I show you… then technically, I have broken no rules."

His words only confused me more.

"At critical points in your life, you will remember," he continued. "The power you possess will guide you. It will feel as though you were always there. Never stray from the right path."

Everything he said sounded abstract almost meaningless but one thing became clear:

I could stop that monster.

Before I could even think of how, the world's greatest hero arrived.

TITANUMOND.

Humanity's mightiest hero.

The guardian of peace and justice.

The man who ended the A.I uprising and became a symbol of hope for the entire world.

But even heroes looked small before the Dimension Eater.

Titanumond did not arrive alone. Armed forces accompanied him, unleashing everything they had upon the beast, but none of it worked. Missiles vanished into distorted space, energy blasts diverged and entire attack formations glitched apart before impact.

The government even considered launching a nuclear strike, but the casualties would have been catastrophic.

Everything now rested on Titanumond.

His armur shifted and reinforced itself with a special alloy he engineered himself, an alloy capable of resisting the creature's corrupting energy. Covered in metallic silver plating, Titanumond launched himself forward at full throttle and swung his massive hammer directly into the beast.

The impact shook some buildings nearby.

But it did nothing.

Worse still, the energy surrounding the creature began eating away at his armour.

"The human will not win," the mysterious figure said coldly.

"TITANUMOND is the greatest hero and scientist alive," I responded back. "He'll destroy that thing. Just wait and see."

The figure said nothing.

Titanumond continued attacking relentlessly, but every strike was ineffective. His armour was beginning to break open and exhaustion slowly crept into his movements.

Then the Dimension Eater lashed out.

Its enormous tail slammed into him, sending him crashing through multiple buildings. The remains of his armour began falling apart piece by piece. Before he could recover, waves of glitching energy surged toward him, tearing apart everything in their path.

Titanumond barely avoided them.

Even from where I stood, I could tell he was getting tired.

But he kept fighting.

This time, he changed tactics and ascended into the sky.

"TITANUMOND, we can still launch the nuke if you approve it!" a voice shouted through his radio. "We need to destroy that beast!"

"No!!" he roared back. "That would destroy everything I stand for… and I refuse to let that happen!"

Suddenly, thousands of metallic objects began flying toward him from every direction.

They looked like Scrap metal and Broken machinery.

"Ever since the A.I uprising, I prepared for another disaster," Titanumond shouted. "I spent everything from my days as a scientist on this final gambit… and it will destroy you!"

The scrap looking metals began merging together around him into terrifying constructs. Weapons and armour. Possibilities forged from pure ingenuity.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Titanumond swung his hammer once more, reinforcing it with layers of compressed metal before smashing it directly into the Dimension Eater.

The beast crashed from the skyscraper it stood upon.

Titanumond pressed the assault, striking again and again without mercy. Entire streets shattered beneath the force of the battle. For a moment… it actually looked like the Dimension Eater was weakening.

Like it could die.

But just before Titanumond landed the final blow

The creature glitched.

Reality distorted for a split second.

And before anyone could react…

Titanumond was cut clean in half.

Silence consumed the battlefield.

Yet even then, the hero still spoke.

"It's… not over yet…"

With the last of his strength, Titanumond forced every piece of scrap metal into the creature's body before detonating them all at once.

The explosion lit up the battlefield.

For a brief moment, hope returned.

But the Dimension Eater still stood.

Wounded.

Damaged.

Healing.

"I never believed humans could become this powerful," the mysterious figure admitted quietly. "Perhaps I underestimated your kind."

The creature's injuries slowly began repairing themselves.

"You must destroy it before it fully regenerates," the figure continued. "Titanumond weakened it. Its energy is being consumed to heal, which has slowed it down."

I stared at the monster in horror.

"How am I supposed to defeat something like that?"

The figure turned toward me.

"Use the power within you," he said. "You are the only one who can."
