He suddenly froze in his steps as the scene in front of him settled in his brain. His eyes moved from Adrian to Elara. Then back to Adrian again. From his expression, it was obvious he had not expected Elara to be there at all.
When he finally got hold of himself, he bowed in greeting to Elara and turned to Adrian. "Boss," he called.
Adrian didn't react. He simply pulled Elara a little closer by the shoulder, preventing her from freeing herself from his hold. Seeing that Harris remained quiet, a snort escaped his lips. "Speak."
Harris blinked. Then his gaze moved to Elara before returning to Adrian. "It's important," he said quietly.
Adrian's eyes darkened in displeasure. "You're wasting my time."
Harris pursed his lips hesitantly. Then he sent Adrian a strange look. "Boss, I mean..." He cleared his throat awkwardly. "We'll need to speak in private."
Adrian snorted again. "We already are."
Elara shook her head inwardly.
