The corner of Elara's lips raised into a mocking sneer.
His words sounded unreasonable from any angle one looked at it. The tone he had used just now wasn't a shout, and she had heard it clearly. So why couldn't he just use that same tone to say whatever he wanted to say?
Still, she shook her head and moved closer to his desk. She only stopped when she was about three feet away from it. "I'm all ears," she said calmly.
A short scoff escaped Adrian's lips as he threw the cigarette in his fingers straight into the trash can a small distance away. Then he leaned back against his chair and looked up at Elara, a faint trace of amusement flashing across his eyes.
"Let's see," he suddenly murmured, his brows raising a little. "The circumstances of someone's birth shouldn't determine who they are. He'd still be exactly the same person no matter where he came from."
