Elara's brows lifted at his question and she turned to look at him calmly.
Well, there's no need to explain anything.
"You would have found out sooner or later," she said simply, her fingers still resting on the keys.
"Oh…" Carris muttered after watching her for a few seconds. Then a small smile spread across his lips as he nodded repeatedly. "I see…"
They did not speak much after that.
Soon, his phone rang. He glanced at the screen, stood up, and gave her a small wave before walking out.
Elara did not stay much longer either since Harris was coming. She went upstairs, freshened up again, and changed her clothes. After that, she sat on the bed scrolling through her phone.
Even though she had wanted nothing more than to return and rest while at the site, sleep refused to come now that she was finally in the room.
At exactly six, a knock sounded on the door. Elara stood up and opened it. As expected, it was Harris. He came right on time.
