The sun is rising as Mayuri tries to check her movements and flexibility, which are now okay as she looks at her sleeping parents on the other bed. She then approach them as the two of them wakes up when her shadow looms over them. The first one to wake up is her Father.
"Hey good morning..." Arhan states as he sits and shakes his wife off to wake her up, which she does while her eyes are close. When she sees Arhan, she doesn't double take to kiss him in the lips and says her morning greeting. "Hey Honey, our daughter's looking." As Arhan points into the standing Mayuri, she silently freaks out but she compose herself.
"Hey good morning Mom. We need to takedown the target as soon as possible." Mayuri states as Arhan and Kyla fix themselves and discuss somethinh crucial.
"Well that ship the noble is expecting to escape with aren't gonna move soon. Patrol ships are currently roaming around and without any proper permit they can't move out as they please. The noble also knows what's up, so he can either go in a smaller raft to escape to the open seas in a deadly cold or he will have some contact to let them pass, and this will most likely eat his time." Kyla recounts as they are now rushing into the port in order to catch and slay the slave trading noble.
"Hey!! I paid you several time more than what you worth! I need you to get those assassins off my back!" The nobleman asking of a red dress wearing lady that the family spots when they are above the roof of the port and observing the situation. Kyla instantly recognize the lady. "This is bad, how the hell he manage to make a connection with that woman?" Kyla remarks as Arhan's sweat through his temple.
"Who is that dress wearing woman Mom? Is that someone you know?" Mayuri ask as later the woman looks up to the roof, where they are located. They quickly hide and Kyla answers.
"That is one of the most deadliest Assassin known to this land, Carmilla. She's the one who taught me all of my skills. She's basically my Master." Kyla explains as Arhan thinks if they need to continue or abandon the mission itself, a thing that the lady in red dress will not let them think through as she blows a smoke through her pipe and Kyla and Arhan feels the rising magic in the air.
"GET OUT!"
As the couple screams out of their system, the three of them gets out of the roof and it suddenly explodes. While mid air, Kyla faces forward, and there her master looms over her. "Haven't seen you for a while Kyla." Carmilla says as she kicks Kyla with an axe kick, sending her beaming to the ground and creating a large crater and almost detroying the warehouse where the family stands in.
"Guess this is the day we will kill each other huh Master? Being a pawn on that slave trader and all." Kyla replies as Arhan catch her when she jumps out to disengage.
Mayuri is looking at the side as she see that the nobleman is riding through the ship, which she chases with. Carmilla then points her finger to the chasing Mayuri, but Kyla covers her daughter as a wind of pressurized air almost send her flying. "So that's your daughter? Quite a lovely parent you've become my student." Carmilla reacts as she witness how Kyla takes the attack.
"And your Wind Spells are getting sloppy Master." Kyla reacts as Arhan dadh through her and with daggers, he slash and stabs through her, only for her to flawlessly dodge each and everyone of them with an incerdible precision. "I suppose you need to work on your speed and vision then." Carmilla then catch Arhan's right hand and throw him off balance when she pulls him in and gives a powerful punch through his spine.
"Arhan!!" Kyla screams as she points her finger into her Master and shoots a small Wind Spell that Carmilla have to dispel with a hand chop. "I can see that you are getting on my... Level..." Carmilla appreciates her power as she proceed to kick out Arhan to her. She catch him and he then reset and stands up again to fight. "Can you fight still Honey?" Kyla ask as she help him stand.
"As a husband I am a failure. I can't show you my good side." Arhan answers but he takes a stance and prepares to fight. "And I mean to correct that!" The couple attack in unison as they charge to the deadliest Assassin of today.
Meanwhile, Mayuri have finally catch the nobleman and she sees a bunch of mages are preparing to fire a spell from the sails and through the deck. Mayuri sees the nobleman cowering on the other end of the ship. Mayuri takes a deep breath as she sees a bunch of Ice, Fire and Lightning Bolts flying into her. She uses her high speed as she vanish in a blink of an eye and she closes her distance with her target. She then feels a magic barrier have been casted to protect the target, which cause for him to laugh.
"Hahahahahaha! What a blunder you say! You Kingdom's lapdog can't understand how my industry keeps many of you afloat." The slave trading nobleman says as Mayuri just stands in front of the barrier as she is trying to hit it with her fist, not showing that she have a plan on her own. "You're right, trading man is profitable on other kingdoms, but the immorality of it is what disgust the crown. And that disgust is what I am delivering to you."
She waits and she sees that several mages are preparing to fire at her position. When she feels that they're gonna fire their spells, she jumps upward and the mages follow her movement, not knowing that when they release their spells, they will be aiming their spells to the target. Mayuri use her high speed to evade and the target shouts as the barrier is continually being hit by spells.
"WAAAH! STOP SHOOTING!"
As the mage stops screaming, the nobleman notice that the magic barrier is cracking. When he tries to touch it, it breaks as the smoke surround him. This is where Mayuri takes her chance and she grabs the target and she stab him in the gut. "With this your evil is now undone." Mayuri says as she props him up and she clears the smoke with her left hand. She shows the target dying on her hands.
"Look! Your boss is dead! Drop your weapon or suffer dying like him." The pre teen Mayuri shows her spunk to the mages on the ship as they raise their hands and their magic stops from forming.
"Heh, you're too naive little girl... Even if I am to die, there will be many who will replace me." The dying words of the slave trading nobleman says as Mayuri interrupts it and she throws her into the water with a dagger sticking on his gut, ensuring that he will die the water red with his blood. The mages then points their staffs and magic to Mayuri, but she doesn't looks at them and she disappese again.
"If being naive will make me win, then so be it." Mayuri appears at the top of the sails as she slash the mage positioned above and she grabs him to fall into the deck. She then jumps out to evade the incoming high speed magical projectile and slaughter everybody resisting her on the ship.
It take her just 10 minutes to clear it out. Blood are smeared and splattered everywhere as the captain is just standing there, speechless and listless. Mayuri then returns to the port as she witness a horrible sight.
Earlier...
As the couple charge to Carmilla, she extend her hands to them and goes to intercept and block their fast attacks. Kyla, in particular, notice how she is blocking each attack they've made, so she slot in some projectile spell strike, which she carefully cast in order to not hit her husband. Carmills then leans forward and she kicks her with a side kick. Kyla blocks it and Carmilla then shifts to Arhan, which she easily dismantle with a quick gut check and a double hammer strike in the dome.
"GUAAH!"
"Arhan!!" Kyla screams but she can't lose focus as her master is in front of them, waiting for anything that may harm her. She then points her finger to Arhan, and before she shoots the wind spell, Kyla abruptly stops it with a quick dash and sweep attempt. Carmilla just raise her leg and stomp on Kyla's. "You would do well to know how to not lose your composure my beloved student!" Carmilla says as she then grabs Kyla's neck and choke her.
As the red dressed Assassin raise Kyla up. Arhan recovers from his hits. He then rush to save her with a quick dagger combo, and this manage to do something to Carmilla. He close the distance with her and he swings his dagger to her face, which she block with her left hand. He then quickly disappears and reappear at her back while he launch several daggers on her arm that are choking his wife as she tries to kick him out, only to anticipate it as he keep his guard up.
He then slides to catch his wife and he jumps out to carry themselves out of there. "Hey, you okay?" Arhan ask as he sees Kyla opening her eyes. Carmilla is impressed by what he had pulled off, but she thinks about one thing. "I think I need to stop holding back." Carmilla thinks as she looks to the couple with her fierce eyes and she disappears from their sight.
"You are very correct on that!" The speed demonness grab Arhan as she gut check him, gives him a knee to the face and thrown him to the air. Arhan is so lost that he can't defend himself and Kyla answers for his husband with a quick dagger strike to the face, only for her to stab her master's left thigh and stab her in the left side.
"Guess you need to stop picking in your target..." But before she can finish what she wants to say Carmilla concentrate her mana in her fist and she punch it through Kyla's chest. She burst some blood from her mouth, but she looks down and she sees her master's fist piercing her.
"I'm sorry my student, but I can't die in such a condition." Carmilla says as she retreats her fist and her blood flows from her body. At this point Mayuri do manage to slay the corrupt noble. She witness how her mother kneels and her life slips out.
"MOTHER!!!!"
As the green haired Mayuri screams Kyla faces her daughter and she extends her hand to her. She approach her as she ignore Carmilla and she hold her hand. Arhan witness this as well and he charge at Carmilla, who's limping but his injuries are too severe that she manage to outrun him even though she sustain such stabs from Kyla. Arhan then goes to Kyla, whose damage is too severe and the two can only weep for her.
"Don't cry... Just know... That I love you both." With her last words Kyla breathe her last.
"MOTHER!!!"
The two surviving family weeps for several minutes there. Arhan breaks this weeping when he carries her body and he walks it back to their hideout, the same hideout where Mayuri used to stay for the night.
Arhan's tears won't stop falling while he is trying to fight his emotions right now so he can bring he there. Mayuri's dealing with it far worse as she still sobbing and she can't look straight to the way. She bumps to several people as they reach the hideout.
"Father... Father..." Mayuri calls to her Father after he opens the door. Her bloodsoak clothes smear all over Arhan, but he doesn't mind as he embrace her still, something that will break him within his days.
In present...
"That's very sad indeed. So what did you do? This Carmilla you are speaking off isn't registering to me." Princess Lucy ask as she ask Mayuri, which is sitting in front of her.
They are now inside her office as she sips her tea prepared earlier by her servant and Mayuri left hers untouched. "I'm very hurt by what you say Your Highness, but I don't have the power to criticise you." Mayuri answers.
Mayuri do notice that sometimes the Princess is looking at her and sometime losing focus.
"Apologies for that, I didn't mean to offend you if that's the case. Anyway, to claim your vengeance, what did you do then?" The royalty ask as she continues recounting.
"I do get that vengeance, that hollow vengeance."
Back when Mayuri hits teenage years...
She furiously trains and master many Rogue and Assassins technique that she basically terrify anybody who can witness her. Arhan stops being the king's assassin at that time as he decide to live his life far from danger, but Mayuri knows what's happening to him.
"Father... Hey Father!" Mayuri calls out to her Father as she is leaving for another mission. Her Father looks listless at her and he grab her hand. "Please don't go..." Arhan says in a low voice as even though this is almost unbearable, Mayuri understand him.
"I'm sorry Father but I need to go." Mayuri replies as she forcefully remove her hand from his grasp. She leaves to fulfill her duty, to be an Assassin for the crown. She encounter many hardships and many enemies that she slays along the way. But for today this is an exceptional target.
The target this time is a mage who uses innocent child to experiment with. She chases this mage while it cast several summons to attack Mayuri. Mayuri quickly work at them as she slice and kick them out to their deaths. She manage to corner the mage when it make a wrong turn to a dead end of a alley. When Mayuri stops from chasing him and just slowly approach him, he mocks her.
"You lowly dog of the crown! You don't know how much revolution of a research that I am doing right now?" The mage says as he then throw several handsigns and he proceed to slap the ground. A gigantic bull appears in front of him. "Get her!!" The mage commands with full confidence and a smirk. Mayuri just looks at it with no fear and she just mutters.
"Mother..."
When the gigantic bull charge, Mayuri put some mana on her feet as she dash through the monster. When the distance of the two is nearly half a meter with each other, Mayuri leaps out of the way and she lands through the back of the bull. She then gives it a flurry of stabs that it fills the whole alley with its blood. It roars in pain and it later falls down. Mayuri landed into the bloodsoak alley as she turns her gaze to the terrified mage.
"Hii! Hey hey! We can talk about this right? Right? I don't want to die! I apologize I wouldn't do it again." The mage begs and slump as Mayuri is approaching him as slow as she can scare him. She then bend on one knee and ask him one question.
"Are you familiar with the name Carmilla?"
The mage nods, thinking she will spare him if he does. "Yes yes! She currently working with a man near the Northern Border now. I hear that she's working with a big wigs there." The mage spills out all of what he can share. Mayuri coldly aims her blade on his throat as she wants to know more.
"Speak more." Mayuri sparingly speaks as she is waiting if he will says more to her. "I, I share all I know! Will you let me go now? I'm sorry!"
As the mage keeps on pleading Mayuri removes her blade on his neck. Just as the mage sighs, she proceed to kick him to the face. "No no!! You!" The muffled voice of the mage utters as she then use her mana infused legs to crush his skull in the pavement. She doesn't look at it as she leaves.
Since she finally have a lead. She returns to the King to report her progress, but with another plan in mind. "My Liege, can you tell me the details if you know the nobles on the Northern Border?"
"Why do you ask? Does anybody shares anything about it?" The king ask as she raises her head to look at him. She observe how his body acts as she witness him sweat and slightly trembles while sitting on his throne. It clicks on her that's something is wrong is going on.
"No My Liege. I'll take my leave." Mayuri ask permission to be dismissed as the monarch let her be. She takes her time off in order to investigate the matter as she shares this information to her Father.
"No Mayuri don't go, please... Cherish your life more." Arhan says as he is against her chasing after Carmilla, which Mayuri takes in a wrong way. "What? Don't you want to avenge Mother? She needs to die!" Mayuri strongly declares as her Father stops arguing with her.
"I don't want to lose you as well..." The Father embraces her as she then feels his words and his intentions. "I... I understand. I'll take precautions for this Father. I'll not cheap out for this." Mayuri replies as she bids farewell. She then goes in a carriage going to the Northern Border.
While in there, she remembers her Mother's smile as she is drifting between wakefulness and sleepiness. She remembers how tedious and long the whole journey. When the carriage stops, he opens her eyes as she knows that she need to be alert as she's now on the Northern Border.
Northern Border is known for having brutal winters and demonic monsters trying to cross from the walls itself. Most of the residents there are mixed race, and the humans are usually a merchant and such.
She walks through the street covering her body through that cold, and as she pass through a foundry, she sees a mansion that looks cozy in the numbing cold.
"Target acquired. Guide me Mother." Mayuri thinks aloud as she approaches it. She feels a hand stopping her through her shoulder. As she turns while drawing her blade, she sees her Father there. "Father? Why are you here?" The green haired teen ask as her Father have this sad eyes looking at her. "I can't let my last and most precious be killed." He replies as he gestures for her to lead the way.
As soon as she complies, she leads the way as she smiles on her own as she wants to tackle this with his Father. She feels some ease since she remembers how she and Arhan trains before.
The two jumps into the rooftop and they later looks up since they hear the skies crackle.
"Looks like the rain is gonna drench us later Father. We need to finish this before it falls." Mayuri remarks as Arhan looks beyone their vision, and there a menacing figure stands.
"Looks like there she is." Arhan says as Mayuri also spots her, the woman who killed Kyla. The lady in red, Carmilla.
"It seems you two are eager to lose your lives! Is the death of my student never deter you?" The older voice of Carmilla rings through the air as Mayuri and Arhan just prepare themselves to fight when they bring out their blades.
"I train and kill for this moment. I dismantled lives, end businesses and burn down memories for one reason... A sole reason is to kill you!" Mayuri declares as she dashes through.
