The New Purple Rose Courtyard [Part 2]
Shasa stopped the moment she stepped into the garden.
A flower petal drifted down from above, carried by the gentle breeze. Her blue eyes followed it all the way down. Just before it touched the ground, she reached out and caught it between her fingers.
She held it up and examined it curiously.
Then she looked around.
Her eyes widened.
Flowers covered the garden. A thin layer of mist drifted between the trees, and the fresh mountain air carried a faint floral fragrance. Beyond the winding paths stood several elegant wooden houses, their roofs peeking through the branches.
Shasa had never seen anything like this.
She had grown up in a broken hut. She had wandered through the streets without a proper home. There had even been a time when she had slept in a ruined temple, with nothing but cold stone beneath her and the night sky above.
Compared to those places, this garden felt like another world entirely.
