Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: The Golden Dragon King

Arthur then dialed his communicator and called for the Administrator to handle the situation, bringing the matter to a close.

During this time, Light Dragon remained quite obedient; he didn't seem to care when he heard he would be handed over to the Administrator.

He had been brought in many times before, and his older brother always bailed him out by the next day at the latest.

Little did he know, once he went in this time, it would be for a lifetime.

With just a word from Arthur, even his brother, the Captain of the Donghai Mecha Squadron, would be completely powerless.

To put it bluntly, Arthur was the Crown Prince of East Sea City.

Gu Yue, who had followed them, watched everything silently from the crowd, adding another entry to her observation diary regarding Arthur.

As evening approached, none of them felt like playing anymore after what happened, so they ended their relaxation for the day and returned... The Grade Promotion Tournament the next day also ended very quickly. This time, Gu Yue didn't do much, merely acting in a support role. Since her goal had been achieved, she would just slack off unless absolutely necessary.

After school, unlike the original story, there was no incident of Guang Biao blocking the gates.

Agravaine truly held absolute power in East Sea City.

The person was taken in one moment, and Guang Biao's dismissal notice arrived the next; if he dared to make a move, he would be sent in as well.

Setting aside his status as the Master of the Donghai Martial Soul Pagoda, the Dragon Sparrow Douluo's prestige carried weight throughout the entire Federation.

The reason Agravaine stayed in this small East Sea City was partly to stay away from the power struggles at the Spirit Pagoda Headquarters.

But the main reason was because Mu Chen was here.

Since it didn't matter where he stayed, Agravaine had volunteered to take a post in East Sea City to keep his good brother Mu Chen company.

Of course, Mu Chen would have preferred to do without this kind of "companionship" that often involved freeloading at the Blacksmith Association... Tonight, in Dorm 205, Xie Xie, who had won another round of the Grade Promotion Tournament, was excitedly boasting and holding court in front of Yun Xiao and Zhou Changxi.

In his words, the contestants from Class Three and Class Four were all pushovers, and Class Two would surely be the same.

He was already studying their opponents from Class One.

In contrast, Tang Wulin, sitting cross-legged on his bed, appeared to be meditating and Cultivating.

However, he was restless.

Recently, that mysterious power within his body had been acting up, and the miserable cries of a dragon's roar in his mind were becoming more and more frequent.

He vaguely sensed that a great secret was hidden within this, perhaps even related to the mutation of his Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul.

While he used to be able to enter a meditative state as soon as he closed his eyes, Tang Wulin's mind was now a mess of chaotic thoughts; that inescapable, miserable dragon roar appeared again, leaving him unsettled.

Gradually, his consciousness began to blur and the dragon roar faded. He thought he had finally entered meditation, but he didn't notice the golden patterns extending from his cervical vertebrae to his tailbone quietly lighting up.

At the same time, a faint burning sensation slowly enveloped his entire body. Tang Wulin couldn't help but shiver slightly, his brow furrowed deeply.

When he opened his eyes again, his surroundings were pitch black, as if he had fallen into a boundless Void Realm.

Just then, a golden light pierced through the darkness in the distance, pulling him closer with a dazzling radiance.

As the silhouette within the golden light became clear, Tang Wulin couldn't help but gasp.

It was a massive Golden Dragon!

With five claws extended and a body covered in golden scales, it had the antlers of a deer and the body of a snake; it had no wings, yet it loomed high above.

Even though the form of the five claws beneath its belly differed from the dragons recorded on the continent, a thought echoed in his heart: This is a Dragon.

The golden light suddenly bloomed, and a floor paved with green bricks appeared beneath Tang Wulin's feet. He looked down at himself, realizing his figure was actually illusory.

Looking up, the boundless Golden Dragon hovered high in the sky.

The dragon's body was surrounded by layers of clear blue halos. That shade of blue inexplicably made him think of his own Blue Silver Grass.

"You've come."

A cold voice echoed from all directions, sounding quite mystical.

Streaks of golden light converged in front of Tang Wulin, transforming into a silhouette whose face could not be seen.

"Who are you? Where is this? Am I dreaming?" Tang Wulin blurted out a string of questions.

"Perhaps it is a dream, or perhaps it is a part of your body," the silhouette replied cryptically. "You can call me Old Tang. I am merely a lingering Divine Sense, here specifically to guide you."

Strangely, influenced by the voice, Tang Wulin's curiosity overcame his fear of the unknown. "What is that? Is it a dragon?"

"It is no ordinary dragon; it is the entire essence of the Golden Dragon King." The silhouette's words sent a shock through Tang Wulin's heart. "In a sense, it is your catastrophe. The Golden Dragon King's energy is too vast; your small body cannot withstand it at all. Once it erupts, you will die."

The word "die" struck Tang Wulin's heart like a heavy hammer. He froze for a moment and whispered, "Will I definitely die?"

"Do as I say, and you still have a chance, though it will be very difficult." Seeing that he had gained the initiative, the silhouette's voice calmed down.

"You should have already felt its power."

"The Golden Dragon King represents the pinnacle of strength." The silhouette's voice seemed to carry a hint of longing, yet also regret.

"Your strength is greater than those of your age because you are influenced by it. Years ago, a powerful master placed eighteen Seals upon it to save your life. If you want to survive, you must break the Seals one by one and digest and absorb the energy until you have complete control over it."

Absorb?

At such a close distance, Tang Wulin could feel the lethargy of the Blue Silver Grass within him.

Compared to this shadow whose motives were unknown, he trusted his own Martial Soul more.

"Such a dangerous power... why was it sealed inside my body?"

"Can't it be removed?"

Seemingly hearing an unexpected answer, the silhouette fell silent for a moment before asking, "This is supreme power. You don't want it?"

The current Tang Wulin didn't have a great thirst for power; he had been very happy since enrolling at East Sea Academy.

Under Arthur's guidance, everyone in the class was getting along harmoniously.

His roommates also got along well, and the four of them chatted freely about the future every night.

And there was his good friend Xie Xie, who treated him to meals from time to time.

The Grade Promotion Tournament was also going smoothly, meeting Teacher Wu Zhangkong's expectations.

Given all that, why would Tang Wulin risk his life to absorb the Golden Dragon King?

"Sigh, you have no choice; it's move forward or perish." The silhouette saw Tang Wulin's hesitation. "If you don't find a way to absorb its power, you will eventually die from your body exploding."

A moment of silence followed.

"How do I absorb it?" Tang Wulin pressed.

"To break the first Seal, you need three spiritual items. They are a hundred-year ice crystal fruit, a hundred-year scarlet flame fruit, and ten drops of blood from a Century Spirit Beast with a dragon Bloodline."

The silhouette paused, its tone becoming serious. "Since I have awakened, once you have gathered these three items and consumed them together, I will help you break the Seal. Remember, the speed at which you grow stronger must keep up with the speed at which the Seal loosens. If you cannot break the first Seal before you are ten years old, even I will be unable to suppress its power."

Tang Wulin's heart tightened.

He didn't have many months left before he turned ten. He was about to ask where to find these things when he remembered that Spirit Beasts were already on the verge of extinction. His voice was full of helplessness: "Spirit Beasts are almost gone. Where am I going to find the blood of a Century Spirit Beast?"

Whether it was an illusion or not, the silhouette seemed to sense something and glanced in a certain direction.
