Chapter 32 - Part31:It's all a misunderstanding

Dusk draped over every street and alley in Fontaine, the humid air carrying a faint briny tang of the sea. He Chizhe stood on the terrace of the City Hall, gazing at the glistening sea in the distance, his brows tightly furrowed. Recently, a mysterious dark force had been spreading across Fontaine, and all signs pointed to a terrifying name—Lü Bu.

This fierce warrior from the Three Kingdoms era had somehow appeared in Teyvat, scheming in secret. Using an ancient summoning ritual, He Chizhe successfully summoned two legendary generals from the Three Kingdoms, Ma Chao and Huang Zhong, to Fontaine, hoping to enlist their power against Lü Bu.

At that moment, Ma Chao and Huang Zhong were walking through Fontaine's streets. Ma Chao wore a suit of silver armor, heroic and dashing, with a gleaming spear at his waist; Huang Zhong was clad in tight-fitting warrior attire, the world-famous Precious Eagle Bow slung over his back. Both were filled with curiosity about this strange world, yet remained ever vigilant.

Suddenly, a dark shadow flashed past, and Clorinde appeared before them like a ghost. The renowned Duelist of Fontaine had cold eyes, her musket aimed straight at the two: "Who are you? Why are you here? You don't look like locals—are you spies for Lü Bu?"

Ma Chao frowned, stepped forward, and spoke loudly: "You misunderstand, lady. We were invited by Mage He Chizhe to fight against Lü Bu."

"Hmph, nice words!" Clorinde snorted and pulled the trigger. A flash of fire erupted, and a bullet streaked toward Ma Chao like a shooting star.

Ma Chao's eyes sharpened; he darted aside and caught the bullet barehanded. Squeezing gently, the bullet crumpled into a ball of scrap metal: "Why the haste, lady? Let's talk this out!"

Clorinde was startled to see her attack easily deflected, but she did not retreat. She raised her musket again and fired repeatedly. Ma Chao moved nimbly, weaving through the hail of bullets—sometimes blocking with his spear, sometimes catching bullets with his bare hands. Meanwhile, Huang Zhong nocked and drew his bow; arrows sliced through the air, colliding mid-flight with Clorinde's bullets, sending thunderous booms echoing.

The three-way battle grew increasingly fierce. Clorinde relied on her musket's long-range fire and agile footwork to keep attacking Ma Chao and Huang Zhong; Ma Chao wielded his spear with both offense and defense, deflecting every strike; Huang Zhong's arrows struck from unexpected angles, constantly threatening Clorinde .

Over eighty rounds passed, yet none could gain the upper hand. Clorinde was secretly shocked—she had never faced such formidable opponents. Ma Chao and Huang Zhong, too, admired the lady's skill; were it not for the misunderstanding, they might have become friends.

Just then, He Chizhe and Zhuge Liang hurried over. Zhuge Liang fanned his feather fan and shouted: "Cease! It's all a misunderstanding!"

At the sound, the three stopped fighting. He Chizhe rushed forward to explain the whole situation, and Clorinde finally realized she had misjudged them.

She lowered her musket, bowed slightly, her expression awkward: "It was all a misunderstanding. I apologize for my rudeness earlier—please forgive me, gentlemen."

Ma Chao laughed heartily: "No harm done. If not for this misunderstanding, we would never have witnessed your prowess, lady."

Huang Zhong also smiled and nodded: "Indeed. Your strength has opened our eyes."

He Chizhe looked at the group with relief: "Now that the misunderstanding is cleared, we must discuss how to defeat Lü Bu. He is immensely powerful—no single person can stand against him. We must stand united."

Zhuge Liang fanned his feather fan, his gaze firm: "Indeed. Though Lü Bu is fierce, we are not without hope. If we stand together, we shall surely defeat him!"

The group gathered to discuss their strategy. Night deepened, and a tense atmosphere still hung over Fontaine's streets—but in their hearts burned hope. They knew a great battle loomed, but they were ready. To protect Fontaine, to fight evil—they would spare no cost!
