Chapter 7 - 7. Return to Newyork

However, more applications left her scratching her head. She used to be a poor student, and her science knowledge had long been returned to her teachers in an indescribable country.

The original Daisy, not to mention, spent her days reciting the Old and New Testaments, singing hymns. Her church school, while not as hateful towards modern physics as it was towards Darwin, offered very few related courses.

Just as physical education classes were often occupied in that timeline, Daisy's memory frequently showed this familiar scene.

The physics teacher would take leave, and the theology teacher would directly push open the classroom door and lead everyone in reading the Bible… Faced with incomprehensibly awesome things like vibration, frequency, transverse waves, and string vibration, both her former self and her current self were utterly bewildered.

The combined knowledge of "the two of them" was not even as much as a diligent middle school student.

"Learn math, physics, and chemistry, and you can go anywhere in the world without fear." Daisy finally understood the profound meaning behind this saying.

As a poor student, she could only relearn everything.

Fortunately, it was the internet era. As long as you wanted to learn, and it didn't involve particularly cutting-edge scientific achievements, you could basically find all sorts of knowledge.

As for how much one could learn, that depended on the individual.

After a quick look at various academic theories, her head was a mess. Daisy decided to go back and study them more carefully.

Putting away her notebook, she lay on the bed. She now had a problem to face: her genetic defect.

Like Black Bolt, the leader of the Inhumans, who could level a city with a single word and make Thanos stumble with a roar, his defect was a lack of control. To avoid causing harm, he had to remain silent 365 days a year.

Daisy realized her own problem: her vibrations also harmed her. The action of force is mutual; she caused vibrations, and that part of the vibration would also be fed back to her.

In the original timeline, Daisy's frequent use of her abilities led to minor stress fractures in her arm bones, even to the point where she needed to take special medication to heal the damage just to continue using her powers.

She hadn't done a horizontal comparison, but Daisy had been running all this time, and she felt that her current body was stronger than her body in the original timeline. Perhaps this was the benefit of her monopolizing the Terrigen Mist.

Additionally, she felt that her control over her abilities was also more precise than in the original timeline.

Precise control gave her an extra ability: she could sense the vibration frequencies of people around her.

A scientist named David R. Hawkins conducted an experiment where he categorized all objects in the world into an energy level range from one to one thousand using his own method.

The average person's value in this energy level was two hundred.

When a person is filled with malice, indifference, fear, anxiety, and other emotions, their vibration frequency decreases.

When a person is optimistic, happy, and peaceful, their vibration frequency increases.

Meeting a kind and virtuous person makes one feel comfortable, while evil has the opposite effect. This view has scientific basis.

This scientific research recorded that the person with the highest vibration frequency was Mother Teresa, the woman who won the Nobel Peace Prize. Even if you don't have faith, seeing her would make you feel a wave of warmth. From a humanistic perspective, it could be called charisma or a spirit of dedication, but in the field of physics, Mother Teresa's vibration frequency was far higher than that of ordinary people.

Daisy could now use this ability to judge the good and evil of people around her, much like red or yellow names in a game… Precise control also had another benefit: it could counteract firearm recoil.

Women are naturally not as physically strong as men, and there is a difference in wrist and arm strength. Many female agents hold guns with both hands, which is due to the impact of recoil.

Daisy could now fire at will; the small amount of vibration power used to counteract recoil placed very little burden on her body, and it also served as practice for precise control of her abilities.

Her already high physical fitness, coupled with the greatly improved reaction time, speed, endurance, and superpowers after bloodline activation, made her marksmanship advance by leaps and bounds. While hitting every shot while running was difficult, getting a ranking in an amateur shooting competition was not a problem.

In the initial stage, the burden on her body was great, so she needed to pursue precision, doing the most with the least amount of power.

Once her physical fitness became strong, making the air vibrate and split open the sea like Whitebeard would not be difficult.

Or, once she understood quantum mechanics, she could, like Vibe from DC next door, open and cut dimension channels, and perceive the position of objects by touching them. All of these would be possible.

In short, the future was still very bright!

The Puerto Rico incident came to an end. She acted for two more days, and after the local police promised to notify her immediately if they had any news of her parents, she boarded a plane.

The two Glocks were not used. She sold both the guns and ammunition back to the gun store at a low price. The gun store was very cautious about American passports, and the buyback price was not too harsh. She earned seven hundred dollars, and Daisy's savings once again exceeded four digits. She returned to New York in a pleasant mood.

Without firearms, but returning to New York this time, Daisy's mindset was vastly different—she had superpowers!

She could also emit short-range shockwaves like in the original timeline, but she felt that was a bit "low-tech" and caused significant damage to her body. Besides looking cool, it had no advantages.

Facing the streets full of "yellow names," she felt a sense of security from the bottom of her heart.

Back at her rented apartment, Angela, the black girl, was studying makeup techniques from some fashion magazine.

"Don't put on any more; that color doesn't suit you…" The black girl was wearing headphones, humming and applying makeup, unaware that Daisy had entered the room.

"Ah, Daisy! You're back!" The black girl was very friendly, dropping the brush whose name Daisy couldn't even recall, and gave her a big hug.

The black girl was truly very dark, not like the color of someone who had lived in America for generations. She was as naturally black as if she had just been captured by the Portuguese and brought to the Americas. However, she was Daisy's only friend now.

Daisy put down her backpack and patted her shoulder: "Did those guys bully you these past few days?"

School bullying is inevitable everywhere. Captain America, Spider-Man in this world, and Superman, Flash next door, were all bullied by their peers when they were young. As minorities, Daisy and the black girl were natural targets for children to bully.

Her predecessor had been fighting children since the orphanage and was experienced. The black girl, as an immigrant, was initially very unaccustomed to the place. It was Daisy who came to her aid back then, which led to their friendship.

Daisy could imagine that after she had been away for half a month, the black girl must have been bullied again.

However, the black girl's words were a bit unexpected. She said with a somewhat serious tone: "No, no, they've all been busy lately. Do you know? Our school is going to close
