Chapter 32 - Chapter 23

POX Guard: "Well, look who's here…"

Shinji: "Good morning. I'd like to meet the Senior Director of Branch 3."

POX Guard: "Sure, but we need permission first."

Shinji didn't even have to wait a full minute. The Branch 3 Director himself came out to meet him.

Director: "Hey! How have you been? I honestly wasn't expecting you today, but it's great you dropped by."

Shinji: "I'm doing well. Nice to see you again. I actually came here for something important."

The Director guided him to his office.

Director: "So, what brings you here?"

Shinji: "I want approval to train five students from a school. They want me to help awaken their eyes. Two of them have already awakened theirs. The remaining ones still haven't."

Director sighed lightly.

Director: "Your intentions are good… but we still remember what happened with that boy, Wakaiza. You sent him on that mission and he almost died. We trust you — but your methods…"

Shinji: "You don't need to worry. They'll be fine. We have Momoshimo with his Khaki Eyes — he's strong, and he helped his whole group escape during the Kaito incident. And Jeisuke is reckless but brave. Even if something happens, those two will protect everyone else.

I won't send them against strong Merus monsters. First, I'll train their bodies safely. Then, only after that, I'll send them against weak Merus monsters."

Director: "I get what you're trying to do… and honestly, I can't say no to you. Your contribution to POX is undeniable. Just be extremely careful. We don't want any tragic news. You already know the consequences — one mistake and it's life imprisonment."

He paused.

Director: "Also, inform us before sending them to any missions. We'll assign Malius heroes as backup. It's not that we don't trust Momoshimo and Jeisuke — we just don't fully trust their limits yet."

Shinji: "Don't worry. Their teamwork is on another level. And they're way more mature than most kids in their class — especially Shino.

And yes, I know the consequences. If anything happens due to my fault, I'll take full responsibility."

Shinji leaned in slightly.

Shinji: "Also, there's something else I wanted to talk about—"

Director suddenly raised his hand.

Director: "Wait! That reminds me of something. The 'Danger Detection' machine you built for us — the one on the East side — it's been sending strong signals lately. We sent Malius heroes, but they found nothing. Either it's jammed… or something is seriously off.

Whatever it is, do NOT let your students go there. That's not a request, it's an order."

Shinji froze for a second.

Shinji: "I was about to say the exact same thing. I built a smaller version of that machine myself, and it's giving the same signals. I visited the area too. Saw nothing. But the signal keeps coming.

We should evacuate people there. If danger appears, warnings won't save them.

But the locals say they don't feel anything unusual…"

Director looked troubled.

Director: "How can both machines give the same reading if it's wrong…? We'll look into evacuation. We'll discuss it with the government and try to move everyone from the East side temporarily. We already did deep searches before and found nothing — even the detection dogs sensed nothing.

But still… we can't ignore this anymore. We'll call an emergency meeting soon."

Shinji: "That's good. Please do it as soon as possible.

I'll go now — I need to inform my students that I got permission. And Director… please keep me updated on this case. I have a bad feeling about it."

Director: "If there's anyone we'll update first, it's you, Professor. Thanks for coming — and don't forget what I said."

Shinji left POX and returned home.

Akaimo and his friends had visited earlier, but since Shinji was at the POX organization, they eventually left.
