Chapter 32 - Chapter 32 : The Truth

Raha couldn't take it anymore.

She stepped forward.

Toward Rabina.

Her finger raised — pointing — eyes cold and certain —

Your game is over.

Rabina moved toward her—

Rohan stepped between them.

The teachers were whispering among themselves now — about Mr. Watson, about everything they had just witnessed — and Mr. Watson couldn't stand it anymore.

He turned toward Rohan.

Looked at him for a long moment.

Then lowered his head.

And walked away.

The principal caught his arm. "What happened to your son?"

Mr. Watson said nothing.

He kept walking.

Subin handed the phone back to Rohan.

"It'll all be over soon."

Rohan nodded.

Rabina started moving toward the exit—

A police car pulled into the school gates.

The entire school turned to look.

"Shit," Rabina whispered.

"This is getting worse," Grace said quietly.

Bella turned to Rohan with something desperate in her eyes. "Why is he doing this to us?"

"Because he's in love," Grace said flatly.

Rabina kept whispering. "We're not responsible for Raha's mother's death. We're not."

Grace and Bella said nothing.

Because they both knew — that was the one thing they couldn't prove.

The officer looked at Rohan.

"Last time we couldn't act — there was no proof."

"I know," Rohan said quietly. "I'm responsible. Not just me — the entire school authority."

The officer turned toward the principal with a small smile — whispered something — and the principal walked out without another word.

Then the officer turned back to Rohan.

"You are under arrest."

The hall went absolutely still.

Raha stared at Rohan.

Couldn't move.

Shawn stepped up onto the stage and took her hand.

"That's enough. Come on." He pulled her down.

Raha's eyes stayed on Rohan — wet, wide, fixed.

"Look," Shawn said quietly. "He's a criminal now—"

Raha's hand moved immediately.

No. Rohan is not a criminal.

She pulled her hand free from Shawn's.

And walked forward.

Shawn watched her go.

"Raha—"

Just her name.

Barely above a whisper.

Outside.

Mr. Lee was standing there.

Raha saw him and stopped.

He saw her and smiled — slow, satisfied.

"Finally."

Raha said nothing.

"If you had spoken sooner," he said, his voice measured, "none of this would have happened."

No reaction from Raha.

She kept her head down.

"Raha."

His voice dropped.

"Do you know who killed your mother?"

Raha went completely still.

Slowly — she looked up.

"Do you?" Mr. Lee said again.

Raha nodded.

Slowly.

Yes.

"So—" A pause. "You're still thinking it was Rabina? Bella? Grace?"

Raha's eyes filled.

She nodded again.

Yes.

Mr. Lee laughed.

Loud.

Sudden.

Wrong.

Raha stared at him.

That laugh — it wasn't grief.

It wasn't relief.

It was something else entirely.

Something that made her heartbeat go very fast and very cold at the same time.

"Raha—!"

She turned.

Subin — running toward her from the school entrance.

He reached her, slightly out of breath.

Saw Mr. Lee. "Mr. Lee? You're here?"

"Yes," Mr. Lee said pleasantly. "I needed something."

"It's finally over," Subin said — lighter now, relieved. "Everything."

Mr. Lee looked at Raha.

Sideways.

That same smile.

Then he turned and walked away.

Raha stood completely still and watched him go.

Her heart was hammering.

Why did he laugh like that?

Why?
