Chapter 261 - Chapter 261: The Vishanti Forged from His Origin and Will

Karl had never appeared in the Main Universe before, so Mordo naturally had no idea who he was.

Moreover, Karl was extraordinarily powerful and possessed exceptional control over his aura.

To Mordo, Karl appeared no different from an ordinary person, so he naturally paid him no attention.

Since Karl had arrived alongside Strange, Mordo had simply assumed he was Strange's subordinate.

However, that carelessness was about to cost him dearly.

Without saying a word, Karl raised his hand.

A thread of platinum-white light appeared between his fingers.

The Sacred Sword of the Vishanti!

This spell drew upon the Vishanti's immense sacred power, but in Karl's hands, it had already transformed beyond recognition.

After reaching the multiversal level, Karl's personal power had risen to an unimaginable extreme.

What filled the spell's framework was no longer the Vishanti's power.

It was Karl's own power.

His origin.

His will.

Hum!

A high-frequency hum rippled through the air.

The energy was oscillating with such intensity that even the surrounding air began vibrating violently.

Only then did Mordo sense that something was wrong.

Every hair on his body stood on end.

His reactions were extremely fast.

Without even thinking, he summoned several magical shields around himself.

Every shield was blood-red and covered in strange, sinister patterns. At a glance, it was obvious that they were anything but ordinary.

Unfortunately, it was already too late.

The powerful Sacred Sword of the Vishanti in Karl's hand came crashing down toward Mordo.

Silently, Mordo's blood-red shields shattered.

Before that enormous platinum-white sacred blade, those supposedly powerful defenses were as flimsy as paper.

In an instant, they burst into countless fragments.

"What kind of power is this?!"

Mordo only had enough time to cry out before the overwhelming force struck him and sent him plummeting into the ground.

Boom!

An enormous cloud of dust erupted from the earth as Mordo was driven deep underground.

"Karl, is Mordo dead?" Strange asked cautiously.

"Dead?"

"You underestimate him far too much."

"This attack might be able to kill you instantly, but it definitely isn't enough to kill Mordo."

Karl shook his head.

Strange's talent was indeed far superior to Mordo's.

However, dark magic could not be judged according to common sense.

Mordo had also sacrificed twenty million human beings.

His current power was undoubtedly terrifying.

Killing him instantly with a single attack was unrealistic.

Sure enough, less than a second later, a figure shot out from beneath the ground.

Who else could it have been but Mordo?

Taking one of Karl's attacks had clearly not been pleasant.

The back of Mordo's sorcerer robe had been completely shredded, revealing a vicious wound beneath it.

Judging by the anguished expression on his face, the robe had obviously been an extremely valuable artifact.

After emerging from the ground, Mordo stared at Karl with an exceptionally ugly expression.

"Who the hell are you?"

"You dared to attack me. Do you not understand the consequences?"

Mordo's face twisted savagely as he spoke.

"Who am I?"

"I am the Sorcerer Supreme."

"As for the consequences of provoking you, what exactly could they be?"

"Do you have someone supporting you from behind the scenes?"

Karl mocked him disdainfully.

Across the entire Marvel Universe, only a handful of beings were still worthy of Karl's caution.

Entities such as the Five Great Gods or the Living Tribunal might still be able to put up a fight against him.

But Mordo?

Karl did not intend to look down on him, but what did Mordo amount to?

He was not a mutant, nor did he possess any formidable background.

In the Marvel Universe, that was practically a tragedy.

In this world, the privileged relied on technology, while the powerless could only hope for mutation.

Mordo had neither.

He amounted to very little in this world.

No matter how hard he worked, he would never reach the true summit.

This was not a world where effort and training alone could make someone the strongest.

Karl had only made an offhand remark, but Mordo felt deeply insulted.

"You're courting death!"

"So what if I have nothing? What can any of you do to me?"

"You're all dead!"

Mordo appeared furious, as though Karl were the most hated enemy he had ever known.

Karl frowned.

"Has dark magic damaged his brain?" Karl asked Strange beside him.

"I think so too."

"Dark magic can have a severe effect on the soul."

"There is no way sacrificing twenty million people could leave his soul unaffected."

Strange spoke with a chill running through him.

Mordo had not originally been like this.

Although Mordo had fallen into darkness, no one had ever questioned his intelligence.

Now, however, he displayed none of a sorcerer's composure.

He was practically a wild beast.

"No wonder soul sacrifices can grant such terrifying power, yet no one willingly uses them."

"The consequences are far too horrifying."

Karl strongly agreed with Strange's assessment.

After seeing what Mordo had become, Karl was even more convinced that no one should touch the dark magic of the Marvel Universe.

He decided that as soon as he returned home, he would seal away every dark spell he possessed.

Dark magic was not something anyone should practice.

While Karl and Strange were speaking, they completely ignored Mordo.

That only made him even angrier.

His eyes became completely bloodshot.

"Die!"

Mordo roared.

Black light erupted from his body.

The sky instantly darkened.

Countless wraithlike figures emerged from the black clouds overhead.

Karl's expression immediately became serious.

He understood that these were not actual vengeful spirits.

They were manifestations of the boundless resentment produced by those who had been sacrificed.

Twenty million people.

The resentment of twenty million souls had gathered together.

At that moment, the entire world seemed to darken beneath its pressure.

The barrier Mordo had erected shattered instantly.

That terrifying aura spread across the entire Earth.

In an instant, every powerful being on the planet was alarmed by its presence.

"What is this?!"

"Such overwhelming resentment!"

"Has Hell come into contact with Earth again?"

Everyone was seized by a profound sense of dread.

Their hearts instinctively skipped a beat.

Even several star systems away from Earth, that terrifying aura could still be sensed.

The aura alone could spread across such an immense distance.

The pressure Karl and Strange were facing could easily be imagined.

"The Main Universe truly is frightening."

"The souls of ordinary humans can produce power this terrifying."

Karl could not help sighing in amazement.

In his own universe, even the extinction of every living creature on Earth would not generate such horrifying power.

"It may also have something to do with the deity receiving his sacrifices."

"This kind of fluctuation is not something an ordinary god could produce."

"In fact, I cannot think of a single deity capable of creating anything like this."

Strange added his own analysis.

"Oh?"

"Then things are becoming interesting."

Karl rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

However, Mordo was already launching his attack.
