Chapter 27 - new start for dad

The garden of the Watson mansion was glowing that evening.

Soft lights were wrapped around the old trees, white flowers lined the aisle, and the quiet warmth of family filled the air.

Jay stood near the front.

Her hands were clasped tightly.

Not nervous.

Emotional.

Today wasn't about her.

It was about her dad.

Jasfer stood at the altar.

Not in a business suit.

Not in a rushed airport jacket.

But calm.

Peaceful.

Happy.

Beside him stood the woman he had chosen.

The woman who had slowly walked into his life… and stayed.

Jay watched him.

Really watched him.

For the first time, he didn't look like a man who lived only for his daughter.

He looked like a man who finally allowed something for himself.

Serina gently held Jay's hand.

"You did this," she whispered.

Jay shook her head.

"No… he did."

Keizer stood proudly beside Jasfer as his witness.

The Watsons were all there.

Keigan and Keiren sat in the front row, whispering excitedly.

John and his family filled the seats behind them.

And standing just beside Jay…

was Keifer.

Quiet.

Steady.

Present.

The vows were simple.

But honest.

When Jasfer said I do, his eyes searched only one person in the crowd.

Jay.

She smiled through wet eyes.

And nodded.

As if giving him permission…

one last time.

When the ceremony ended, applause rose gently through the garden.

Not loud.

Not dramatic.

Just full of love.

Jasfer stepped down immediately.

Straight to Jay.

He opened his arms.

Jay ran into them without caring who was watching.

"I'm so proud of you, Dad," she whispered.

His voice broke.

"Thank you… for letting me live again."

Keizer walked over and placed a hand on Jasfer's shoulder.

"You are family," he said simply.

Serina smiled warmly at the bride.

"Welcome," she said.

And just like that…

Jay realized something quietly beautiful.

Her family had not become smaller.

It had grown.

She glanced sideways.

Keifer was watching her.

Not the ceremony.

Not the guests.

Just her.

When she noticed him, he leaned closer and whispered,

"You look happy."

Jay smiled.

"I am."

And standing there — surrounded by the Watsons, her father's new life beginning, and the boy who had slowly become her home —

Jay finally felt complete, Babe.
