Chapter 78 - "Three Against One"

Chapter 78

CRACK—The sanctuary trembled again.

Dust rained endlessly from the broken ceiling as crimson destruction spread through the shattered halls.

At the center of it all—the Lord stood motionless.

Unshaken.

Unmoved.

His hood shifted slightly beneath the burning air.

Before him—three figures stood ready.

Princess.

Chris.

Guinevere.

And behind them—the Commander raced toward the sleeping stone body of Monessa.

---The Princess moved first.BOOM—Green aura exploded beneath her feet as she rushed forward.

Her sword cut downward without hesitation.

CLANG—The Lord blocked it with his bare arm movement alone, shifting his body just enough to redirect the strike.

Princess gritted her teeth.

SHOOOO—A blue aura suddenly burst across the battlefield---Guinevere entered.

Fast.

Violent.

Merciless.

sword came from the side—low.

Lethal.

Straight for the Lord's ribs.

CLANG—The Lord turned just in time, blocking with the Sword of War.

Purple flames collided against blue.

The shockwave shattered nearby stone.

Guinevere didn't stop.

Not even for a second.

CLANG—!CLANG—!CLANG—!

Her attacks came like a storm.

Fast.

Brutal.

No hesitation.

Every strike aimed to kill.

No wasted movement.

No mercy.

Guinevere: "Stand still."

SLASH—Her knee slammed into his side.

The Lord shifted—barely.

Still avoiding the full force.

But before he could reset—-

--"HEY!"Chris entered from the opposite side.

Fast.

His sword flashed toward the Lord's legs.

A sharp low strike—aiming for mobility.

SWISH—The Lord stepped over it with terrifying precision.

Not a wasted motion.

His footwork was absurd.

Chris clicked his tongue.

Lord said nothing.-

--Princess attacked again.

BOOOM—Green aura surged violently around her blade.

She came from the front.

A full strike aimed directly at his chest.

But—SWISH—Again—he dodged.

Perfectly.Not even an inch wasted.

Princess's eyes widened.

---Elsewhere—The Commander finally reached Monessa's stone body.

The figure stood silently beneath broken ruins.

Cold.

Still.

Ancient.

Commander staggered off the black horse.

Blood dripped endlessly from his side.

His breathing had grown unstable.

Commander (thinking): …Just one hit.

He tightened his grip around the black sword.

Commander (thinking): …Please work.

Slowly—he raised the blade.

---Back on the battlefield—The Lord suddenly paused.

His eyes shifted.

Toward Monessa.

A dangerous silence followed.

Lord: "…So impatient."

Then—without warning—he moved.

Not toward the fighters.

Toward the Commander

.---FWOOOOM—The Sword of War left his hand.

Thrown.

The weapon tore through the sanctuary faster than sound.

Princess: "WATCh O, —!"

---CLAAAAANG—The Commander barely reacted.

At the last possible second—he raised the black sword.

The two weapons collided violently.

BOOOOOOM—The impact exploded outward.

The black sword trembled violently—then slipped from his weakened grip.

CLANG—It crashed against the stone floor.

The Commander was thrown sideways.

THUD—His body rolled through broken rubble.

Blood splattered across the ground.

Commander: "…Kh…"

His vision blurred.

Everything hurt.

His eyes struggled to stay open.

---Back at the battlefield—For the first time—the Lord stood without the Sword of War.

Yet—nothing about him felt weaker.

If anything—he felt worse.

More dangerous.

---Princess didn't hesitate.

Princess: "NOW!"

BOOM—She lunged again.

Guinevere moved instantly beside her.

Blue aura erupted.

Chris followed from behind.

Three attacks.

Three directions.

Perfect timing.

---CLANG—!

The Lord blocked Guinevere's sword barehanded.

His other arm intercepted Chris.

Then—BOOOOM—he twisted sideways, avoiding the Princess completely.

Princess: "STOP DODGING!"

The Lord calmly stepped back.Lord: "…You confuse speed for pressure."

---Guinevere appeared in front of him again.

Her sword came downward—violent.

Unforgiving.

SLASH—The strike carved through stone—missing him by inches.

She immediately followed with a brutal elbow to his jaw.

THUD—A clean hit.

Chris's eyes widened.

Chris: "She actually hit him?!"

But—The Lord barely moved.

Slowly—his head turned back.Calm.

Too calm.

Lord: "…Annoying."

---CRACK—A pressure wave exploded outward.

Guinevere was launched backward.

But unlike before—she flipped midair.

Landed cleanly.

Blue aura stabilizing her balance instantly.

Guinevere wiped blood from the corner of her mouth.

Guinevere: "…Okay."

A faint smile formed.

Guinevere: "Its so fun."

-The Lord stared at them silently.

Then—his posture shifted.

Slightly lower.

Slightly sharper.

The battlefield itself seemed to grow heavier.

Lord: "…Persistent."-

--BOOM—He disappeared.

Chris barely reacted.CLANG—A kick slammed into his sword hard enough to send him flying.

Chris: "WHAT—?!"THUD—

He crashed through broken stone.

---Princess turned—too slow.

The Lord appeared beside her instantly.

Her eyes widened.Princess: "…!"

A strike came—but—CLANG—Guinevere intercepted it.

Blue aura exploded violently. The ground beneath both of them shattered instantly.

Guinevere gritted her teeth.

Guinevere: "…Not happening."-

--The Lord's eyes narrowed slightly.

Lord: "…Chosen Angel."

Guinevere smirked.

Guinevere: "Sharp observation."

Then—BOOM—She headbutted him.

Hard.

The impact echoed.

Princess kicked forward.

guinevere immediately understood.

Green aura erupted again.

Together—they attacked.--

-Far away—The Commander forced himself upward.

His hand trembled violently.

His sword—gone.

Too far away. His breathing became weaker.

Commander (thinking): …Move…

He dragged himself forward anyway.

Toward Monessa.

Toward the stone body.

Blood trailing behind him.

Commander (thinking): …Just a little more…His vision darkened.

…---Back at the battlefield—Chris rejoined them.

Panting.Chris: "I hate this guy."

Princess: "Join the line."

---Together—they pressed harder.

Sword after sword.

Kick after kick.

Blue aura.

Green aura.

Steel crashing endlessly.

And still—the Lord continued avoiding.

Blocking.

Redirecting.

Like fighting three people meant nothing.

Yet—small things had changed.

A sleeve torn.

Dust across his cloak.

Tiny imperfections.

Pressure.

Real pressure.-
