"What do you think she is going to think of you after she finds out what you have been doing behind her back " Florence yelled.
Karlye sighed leaning back in his seat.
"I gave you enough chances to get your act together . Maybe even decide to leave the country but ...you decide to mess with her ".
Florence scoffed.
"Why should I leave what's mine behind. I was with you for two years Karlye and this is what I get in return".
"Don't make it sound like we were in a relationship . You were merely someone whom I called when I needed an partner or to relieve my sexual urges so don't think you were nothing more than that ". he uttered.
Florence glanced back at him tears falling down her face.
"Does she know the type of monster you really are. For I believe if she did find out everything you have done, that sweet innocent kind woman will leave you without even looking back "
Karlye got up and walked to where Florence was staring down at her.
"I had let you go ,you should have taken that chance and disappeared"
She could see the cold murderous eyes stare down at her.
"All I wanted was to have a family and you promised me that".
"I never promised you anything " he retorted.
"Then you should have stopped me when I announced our engagement. You think paying off our debts was enough, that was what my mother wanted not me. All I needed was you, that's why I stuck around even when it got hard or scary" she yelled glaring back at him ..." you think you're an easy person to be with ....no,you're not "
Karlye sighed stepping back.
"And soon she will find out and when that happens I wonder what expression you will have then. She isn't like me, Andriana won't embrace your darkness as I did, she is weak and will only ru....".
Karlye turned and grabbed her by the neck, squeezing tightly.
"Do you even know her to say that about her....you should stop worrying about my future wife and think of what is going to happen to you " he gritted his teeth.
Florence felt the air leave her body as her tears burned in her eyes. Her throat started to hurt as he squeezed tighter.
"Maybe I should send you to your child and fiancé right now...what do you think "he sneered.
Florence tried to fight back but with her hands bound to the chair, she couldn't push him away. As she was on the brink of losing consciousness, someone pulled Karlye away.
"I don't think that's a good idea, Karlye " David said.
He breathed and glanced at the coughing woman.
"Admit her in a mental institution and make sure she doesn't step out of there without my permission" he commanded then walked away.
David sighed and looked back at Florence.
"Why didnt you take that plane ticket when I offered it before ?"
Florence looked back at him with teary red eyes.
"He had decided to let you go, paying off your father's debts and still helping your mother financially. He had agreed to still do that but you had to mess it up " David gestured to his men to untie her.
"You watched me fall for him, even encouraged me when I announced the engagement. You knew I was in love with him so much I was willing to turn a blind eye to his ....".
David interrupted her, "You don't love him Florence you never did. You only saw Karlye as a way to escape from your family's messy life. I know he used you but so did you. That high-profile life you lived while by his side was the only way you could fill that painful space in your heart ".
Florence barked back, "What do you know about me ....you know nothing " she cried.
"I know enough to judge you Florence. I know you went through a lot in the past and that pain drove you to do something unspeakable " he let out.
Florence's eyes filled with fear.
David scoffed.
"You thought he didn't know anything. Apart from that painful past you had, Karlye knew about what you did to your father " he muttered.
"You know nothing " she yelled again.
David sighed, "he knew and still let you be by his side".
"That's because he's a criminal too ....a beast who only murders without mercy when he feels like it. But I'm different, I only did what I did because he tried to hurt me again " she cried.
"Maybe you're right, he is dangerous and has done a lot of bad things but do you know he was protecting you too ?".
Florence fell silent.
"Your father had gotten involved with some really shady people. Worse than those crazy debtor's you knew, these were merciless people, who had connections to the dark market. I wanted to tell you and your mother but he told me not to and decided to take care of them personally ". said David.
He glanced back at her.
"What do you think would have happened if they got hold of you? You killed your father to avenge your dead fiancé and child but with him out of the way, you put yourself and your mother in harm's way ".
"Stop lying ....why are you trying to protect him ?" she cried.
"I am not lying Florence. Karlye has been protecting you all this time. Those bastards backed off the moment they knew he had your back. Even when the engagement was broken off he kept protecting you ".
He bent closer to her ear.
"And Florence, if it wasn't for Karlye you would be behind bars for the murder of your father ".
"What do you mean ?" she looked back at him.
David stood back and scoffed.
"The detectives did find evidence that your father had been murdered . It was a matter of time before they found out it was you . Karlye found out and used his connections to stop them ".
"Yes, he's crazy and dangerous and I know he didn't love you ...but he cared. And he still does , which is why you're still alive right now. So instead of being stubborn just let him go ...please " he added.
Florence wiped her tears.
"There is something I sent Andriana, it might have arrived already or still be on the way. You need to stop her from opening it "
David frowned.
"What is in it ?"
"Something Karlye won't want her finding out " she said.
"Take care of her and get back to me " he shouted as he ran off.
