"Rosie your phone keeps ringing why dont you answer it ?" asked Andriana.
She had just got back from work, and Rosie was in the kitchen, getting dinner ready.
Rosie looked back at her phone and frowned, "It's an unknown number.
"Then answer it " her sister walked back from the bedroom after changing clothes.
"Hello ?!" Rosie answered her phone. Since she had just got her phone recently she wondered who it could be.
"Good evening Rosie ...it's Arthur " she heard his voice say.
She blinked having forgotten about giving him her number. It had been a week since then, and now he was calling her.
"Hello Arthur " she answered.
"Do you remember me ?" he asked.
"Yes I do, the tall guy who kept staring at me " she muttered noticing her sister stop the moment she heard the name.
He chuckled, "I am sorry if I made a bad impression with the staring "
She gestured to her sister to take over the food and walked to the balcony.
"Its alright you apologised already " she closed the glass door behind her.
Silence followed and Rosie wondered if the line had been cut.
"Hello ?!" she called out.
"Hi, I'm still here ..." he answered.
"Oh, I thought it got disconnected. Is something the matter ?" she asked.
Arthur took a deep breath.
"School is resuming tomorrow, will you be there ? " he said.
She knew about it already, Karlye had handled everything about her admission and informed her the day before. Andriana was already excited and had offered to drop her off but she had refused, saying she wanted to take herself cause Andriana would make it awkward .
"Mm, but how come you seem to know I will be attending the same school as you. I don't remember saying anything about it to you " she let out.
"Oh...Mr. Lockhart told me about it when he visited my brother awhile back ".
Rosie sighed.
"Okay ...we will be attending the same school we will see each other often"
"Yeah....so can I pick you up tomorrow so we can head there together. I don't mean you can't go by yourself...you can but ..." She stopped him.
"That would be nice ...it's better than my sister dropping me, I know she will make a big deal of it " she giggled.
"Okay, I will pick you up tomorrow "he chuckled.
"See you tomorrow then...."she confirmed.
"Mm, you can text me your address "he said.
"Alright , goodnight Arthur " she said.
"Goodnight Rosie " he replied .
She hung up and turned to see her Sister, Mira and Samantha stuck to the see-through door trying to listen to her conversation.
She flinched back, surprised by the sight.
"What the hell are you three doing ?" she slid the door open. The three stepped back pretending not to have been caught.
"That was a long conversation for an unknown call?" said Mira.
Rosie scoffed, "When did you two get here".
"A while ago...we saw her sticking to the door so we joined " said Samantha.
Rosie chuckled.
"It wasn't that important. It was a friend "
"A friend ?" let out Andriana.
Rosie nodded.
"His a friend I made back on opening day. I didn't expect him to call me, had forgotten all about giving him my number "
"A he ...is it the guy who kept staring at you. David said his name was Arthur " said Mira.
She nodded.
Samantha passed the plates to Andriana who seemed locked in the conversation.
"What did he want?" asked Mira.
"He wanted to know if I would start school tomorrow with them and I said I was " she said.
Samantha sighed deciding to do everything herself. Mira and Andriana seemed more interested in what Rosie was saying.
"That's all...it seemed to be longer than that " said Andriana.
Rosie blinked sitting down at the dining table.
"He offered to pick me up so we can head there together and I agreed. So I will be going with him tomorrow to school " she explained.
"No... absolutely not " yelled Andriana.
"And why is that ?" Rosie glanced back at her.
"Well his a stranger and a boy " said Andriana.
Mira and Samantha snickered watching Andriana gulp.
"His not really a stranger, I know his name and some other things about him and your boyfriend said he was a good person. As for his gender there is nothing I can do about it " said Rosie.
"Huh..when did you talk to Karlye about him?" she asked.
"The day we got back from the opening and I trust his words ,so if he says Arthur is a good person I will take that and try to become friends with him. I don't see anything wrong with him picking me up " Rosie glanced back at her.
Andriana sighed dropping back into her seat.
"But I offered to take you and you refused ...so why are you going with him " she mumbled.
"Cause I know you're going to make a big deal of it. I know it's been a while since I last attended school but trust me I can handle it. I need to " said Rosie.
"But I wanted to take you...I promise not to make a deal out of it " she said.
Rosie got up hugging her.
"Maybe the following week after I have fully gotten used to the school. For now, it's better to go ahead with someone who already knows everything there "
Andriana finally gave in, agreeing.
Samantha brought in the food.
"Let's put that aside and first eat, I'm starving. And it seems Rosie made something good "
They all sat down .
.....
The next morning Rosie stepped out in her school uniform and Andriana beamed.
Taking pictures as she proudly called out how beautiful she looked.
"This isn't the first time you have seen me in a unniform " laughed Rosie.
"I know but it's been so long and this is all new and it looks so good on you " she squealed.
Rosie felt her phone vibrate, pulling it out to see it was a call from Arthur.
"Good morning Arthur " she said.
"Good morning Rosie... am already here " he answered.
"I will be down soon " she said hanging up.
Andriana watched her grab her bag and jacket.
"Wait how did he know our address?" she asked.
"I texted it to him last night " answered her sister.
"Oh.." Andriana followed her to the door.
Rosie hugged her.
"I still think I should come down and say something to him " said Andriana.
"Let's do that tomorrow, we are already late. I will see you later. Love you " she said rushing off.
Andriana nodded waving back at her.
She was worried but Rosie looked excited and she didn't want to make this awkward for her.
