Outside Konoha, Loran.
Sunlight spread across the streets of Loran. Sara was directing the villagers in repairing the houses.
She wore a simple and capable white outfit with shorts. Her deep crimson hair shimmered in the sunlight like a rose in full bloom.
Ever since she had led the people of Loran to settle outside Konoha, she had thrown herself entirely into building their new home.
"Everyone push a little harder. We have to finish repairing the east wall today!"
Sara wiped the sweat from her forehead and smiled as she encouraged the crowd.
The villagers responded with energy and enthusiasm.
However, no one noticed that in the trees at the edge of the town, several dark figures were quietly lurking.
"That is Sara?"
A masked ninja asked in a low voice, a cold glint passing through his eyes.
"Correct. According to our intelligence, she has a close relationship with Uchiha Chiya."
The other person answered, his voice rough.
"Capture her, and we can force Chiya to show himself. Then we frame Sunagakure for it and use the opportunity to ignite a war."
The group exchanged a glance, then spread out. Using the noise of the villagers at work as cover, they slipped quietly into the town.
At the same time, near the tea stall at the center of the town, two people who appeared to be ordinary villagers were speaking in hushed tones.
"I heard Lady Sara and the Uchiha Clan Head have an unusual relationship."
One of them said in a deliberately casual tone.
"Shh, keep your voice down!"
The other looked around warily.
"You should not be saying things like that carelessly."
Their conversation, however, had already been picked up by the lurking ninjas.
'And the Uchiha Clan Head no less...'
The lead ninja's mouth curved into a cold smile. He raised his hand to signal the others to prepare.
That afternoon, as the sunlight gradually tilted westward.
Sara had just set down her tools when she suddenly felt a chill come over her.
She spun around and found that seven or eight ninjas had already surrounded her completely.
Sara was immediately on guard.
"Who are you?"
Sara demanded sharply.
"Come with us, Miss Sara."
The lead ninja smiled coldly and reached out to grab her.
At that critical moment.
A dark figure shot in from the side. A kunai flashed cold and sharp, driving straight through the ninja's wrist.
"Aagh!"
The ninja cried out and stumbled back several steps, clutching his bleeding wrist.
"A Sharingan from the Uchiha?!"
Another ninja shouted in disbelief, his eyes wide.
The "villager" who had appeared out of nowhere slowly removed his disguise, revealing a pair of crimson Sharingan eyes, and said coldly.
"How dare you cause trouble on Konoha's territory. You are looking for death."
The battle erupted in an instant.
ANBU and Uchiha ninjas who had been lurking throughout the town revealed themselves and clashed fiercely with the intruders.
Sparks flew as kunai struck each other. Fire Style explosions rang out one after another.
Sara was escorted quickly to a safe area. She watched the battle with tension.
Three shuriken tore through the air in a triangular formation, aimed at the vital points of an Uchiha ninja.
The three tomoe of the Sharingan in that ninja's eyes rotated slightly. He predicted the trajectory in an instant.
Without moving his body, he only tilted his head slightly to the left. The shuriken grazed his hair and lodged into the tree trunk behind him.
"Too slow."
The Uchiha ninja's mouth curved into a cold smile. His right hand had already drawn a kunai from his pouch.
Before the enemy could finish forming the seals for a second wave of attacks, his figure suddenly blurred.
"Body Flicker Jutsu!"
"Thud."
The kunai drove precisely into the enemy's shoulder. Blood sprayed.
The enemy ninja let out a muffled grunt, but the Uchiha ninja had already predicted the counterattack and flipped backward to dodge the sweeping blade.
At the same time, he flung steel wire from his left hand, which instantly coiled around the opponent's ankle.
"Fire Style, Phoenix Sage Fire Jutsu!"
Five fireballs roared along the wire. The enemy frantically formed seals for an Earth Style defense, but the Uchiha ninja suddenly shifted tactics. The wire snapped taut and yanked the enemy off balance. All five fireballs slammed into his back.
"Aaagh!"
Amid the screams, three ANBU ninjas emerged from the shadows like ghosts.
One threw several shuriken. Another used Wind Style to push them, making the shuriken fly even faster. The last one charged in, short blade aimed straight at the enemy's throat.
"Earth Style, Rock Pillar Spears!"
The ground shook violently. Dozens of sharp stone spikes burst up through the earth.
One of the ANBU's pupils contracted sharply. In the instant the spikes emerged, he quickly formed seals.
"Lightning Style, Ground Walk!"
He completed the seals as he leaped back. The violent lightning struck the stone spikes and shattered them to pieces in an instant.
In the flashing lightning, the three ANBU had already driven two other enemies into a dead end.
"Water Style, Water Formation Wall!"
"Lightning Style, Lightning Wave!"
The ANBU's combined jutsu linked together perfectly. The water conducted the electricity and paralyzed both enemies.
The opponents looked horrified. They turned to flee, but an ANBU who had burst up from underground drove a blade through one of their thighs.
It was over.
The Uchiha ninja's kunai was already at the last enemy's throat. The enemy's terrified face was reflected in the Sharingan.
In the distance, the final enemy's body, charred by Fire Style, slowly collapsed. The smell of scorched flesh drifted through the air.
From start to finish, the battle lasted exactly thirteen minutes.
Five ninjas were killed on the spot. The remaining three were heavily wounded and captured.
When word reached the village, Chiya led the Uchiha Military Police to Loran.
The moment he stepped into the town, he saw the destruction all around. The faces of the villagers still showed traces of terror.
"Chiya!"
Sara spotted him from a distance. Her eyes went red instantly.
She ran toward him and threw herself into his arms, her voice catching in her throat.
"You finally came..."
Chiya gently patted her on the back and said softly.
"It is over now. I am here."
He looked around and his gaze settled on the captured ninjas. His eyes went ice cold.
He walked up to one of the heavily wounded ninjas. The Sharingan slowly began to turn.
"Who sent you?"
The ninja gritted his teeth and said nothing, his eyes full of stubbornness.
Chiya gave a cold laugh. The Sharingan's genjutsu reached directly into the opponent's mind.
The ninja's whole body shuddered. His expression gradually went blank.
"It was an order issued by the higher-ups of Iwagakure..."
He answered in a hollow voice.
"We disguised ourselves as Suna-nin. The objective was to capture Sara, force you to appear, and use the opportunity to start a war..."
A cold gleam flashed in Chiya's eyes.
"Are there any other accomplices?"
"Yes. He is mixed in with the villagers. He has a mole on his forehead..."
Chiya released the genjutsu. The ninja slumped to the ground.
He stood up. His gaze swept across the crowd and finally locked onto a person who appeared to be an ordinary villager.
'A mole on the forehead. It is you.'
The man sensed Chiya's gaze and his face changed drastically. He turned to run.
"Hmph."
Chiya gave a cold grunt and appeared directly in front of him in a flash.
The Sharingan activated again.
The man's body went stiff, then he stood in place like a puppet.
By then, the ANBU support team had also arrived.
Chiya pointed at the hypnotized spy and said plainly.
"He is a spy from Iwagakure. He should have some valuable intelligence. Take him back and interrogate him properly. Do not let him die."
The ANBU members accepted the order respectfully and took him away.
Chiya turned to look at Sara, and his tone softened.
"The town took quite a bit of damage. I will have people help with the repairs."
Sara nodded, her eyes full of trust and reliance.
Chiya waved for the Military Police members to get to work. Everyone spread out at once to help the villagers repair buildings and clear the rubble.
Night fell. The repair work in the town paused for the time being.
Chiya was about to leave when Sara caught his sleeve.
"Stay with me a little longer. Please."
She said quietly, a faint unease in her eyes.
Chiya looked at her weary but stubborn expression and felt his heart soften. He nodded and agreed.
The two walked to a quiet, deserted riverbank outside the town.
Moonlight fell across the water. A gentle breeze passed over it, sending ripples of light shimmering across the surface.
Sara sat on the grass and stared at the flowing water in silence.
"Still frightened?"
Chiya sat beside her and asked softly.
Sara shook her head, then suddenly turned and threw herself into his arms again. Her voice was muffled.
"I just... do not want to lose anyone important to me again."
Chiya was briefly taken aback, then gently stroked her long hair.
"I will not let anything happen to you."
Sara looked up. In the moonlight, her eyes were as clear as water.
Looking at Chiya's profile, the feelings in her eyes could no longer be held back.
She suddenly pushed herself up and pressed Chiya down onto the grass, gripping his shirt tightly with both hands.
"Chiya, I..."
Her voice trembled slightly. Her cheeks flushed red.
Chiya looked at her. A flicker of surprise passed through his eyes, but it softened into tenderness.
He reached out and gently touched her cheek, saying quietly.
"Sara, are you sure?"
Sara did not answer. She simply leaned in and kissed him.
Actions said everything.
And so, under the moonlight, the two figures became one. The river flowed on softly, as if bearing witness to this moment.
The night wind drifted past, carrying away the tension and exhaustion of the day, leaving only two hearts drawing slowly closer together.
