The moment Najma became Ranveer Sign's wife, something inside Rangeer went silent.
Not shattered.
Not dramatic.
Just… closed.
He stood near the corridor as Najma adjusted her bangles, the vermilion still fresh at her hairline. She looked the same—calm, kind, composed—but she no longer belonged to any uncertain space in his heart.
She was family now.
Twinkle bounced beside her, chatting endlessly, unaware of the quiet shift happening within him.
"Are you both heading back to the Takur house?" Rangeer asked.
"Yes," Najma replied with a soft smile. "Saraswati Ma called. She wants Twinkle home tonight."
Twinkle groaned playfully. "She misses me too much."
Rangeer smiled. This time, it came easily.
"Tell Aunty I'll visit soon."
Najma nodded. "We'll tell her."
As they walked away, Rangeer didn't follow Najma with his eyes.
Instead, he noticed Twinkle's laughter—how it filled the space, how it lingered even after she disappeared down the stairs.
He didn't understand it yet.
Didn't name it.
But he knew one thing with certainty:
Whatever he once felt for Najma had ended the day she took seven steps around the fire with his brother.
