Chapter 19 - The Road to Lord Zebra – The World of Hoodway

Lloyd, accompanied by the Gatekeeper and Riorno, returned to the Hoodway, a world unlike any other. It was a cosmic junction, a crossroads between universes, where hidden passages intersected and laws intertwined.

The Hoodway was the beating heart of the transition, the point from which one could continue the journey to other worlds… to truth… and to Lord Zebra.

But as the three stepped through the Gate, a heavy silence descended upon them.

It wasn't a natural silence… it was the silence of devastation.

The buildings that had once been brimming with crystalline energy were now charred ruins. The ground cracked as if it had screamed until it shattered, and the cosmic junctions lay broken, oozing a black energy that pulsed like a sick heart.

"This destruction… bears the signature of the Star Generals," Riorno said in a low voice, clenching his fist.

Lloyd advanced slowly, his eyes scanning the surroundings. He felt something press against his chest…

This world was once alive.

And now… it was a cosmic corpse.

From the rubble emerged an old man, his clothes torn and his face covered in dust and tears.

He was one of the village elders.

He fell to his knees before Lloyd, his voice trembling:

"You… you're Lloyd, aren't you? The one with the forbidden power?

Please… save my daughter…"

Lloyd gently lifted the man:

"Calm down… what happened?"

The man gasped and said:

"Her name is Shira Ozoro… The Star General Kodoko took her.

He said she carries a rare Star Spark…

And that she will be the key to their supreme lord."

The threshold guardian's features contorted:

"Kodoko…

The executioner of the border worlds."

The Star General Kodoko appeared.

Suddenly, the air trembled.

The sky split open like a wound, and a dark starburst descended.

Kodoku appeared.

His body was covered in shattered star armor, dark violet energy flowing through the cracks, and his eyes were like holes in the void.

Behind him was Shira… bound by star chains, but her eyes remained unbroken.

Kodoku laughed:

"The Way has come to me… Lloyd… half-beast."

Lloyd's energy exploded unconsciously; half his face began to transform, and his left eye glowed a dark color.

"Release her… or nothing will remain of this world."

The Legendary Battle

Kodoku moved first, with a speed that tore through spacetime, and shot a starburst directly into Lloyd's chest.

But Riorno blocked it, unleashing his battle energy:

"You shall not pass!"

The Guardian of the Threshold entered the fray, drawing cosmic symbols in the air. Strands of light erupted, sealing off Kodoku's paths.

Kodoku cried out,

"Ancient powers… but not enough!"

He unleashed his skill:

"Black Star Fall"

A torrent of destructive energy rained down, turning the ground into an inferno.

Ryorno was struck, falling to his knees, but Lloyd…

stood.

He heard a voice within him…

A voice from Part Two…

of the Fall of the Galaxy.

Lloyd unleashed his new skill:

"Heart of the Abyss – Phase One"

The air split, his fist transformed into a monstrous mass of energy, and he unleashed a strike that pierced Kodoku's shield.

The General roared, but smiled.

"Beautiful… Zebra will be pleased with you."

Saving Shira and the Seed of the Future

Lloyd cut the chains, and Shira fell into his arms. She said in a weak but steady voice,

"Zebra… is not just the Lord General…

He watches over all the worlds from the Hoodway."

Kodoku withdrew, turning to stardust.

"We shall meet again… at the Lord's Gate."

Lloyd stood, gazing up at the shattered sky.

"The Hoodway is no longer just a passage…

It is the battlefield to come."

And so… the true path to Lord Zebra began.

The Shadow of Safety

Lloyd, the Guardian, and Riorno spent a full week in the Hoodway.

It wasn't a week of rest; it was a week of restoring souls before walls.

The three worked alongside the villagers, rebuilding ruined houses, reinforcing cracked tie beams, and the Guardian purified the corrupted star energy left behind by Kodoko.

Lloyd was mostly silent, working with his hands, helping the children, and standing at night watching the horizon, as if waiting for some danger yet to arrive.

Shiera Ozoro watched him from afar.

One evening, as the violet sun of the Hoodway was about to set, Shiera approached her father.

She stood beside him, her eyes fixed on Lloyd as he repaired one of the crystal supports.

"Father," she said in a soft but steady voice,

"If I want to be safe… I must stay with Lloyd-san."

Her father turned to her in surprise, but didn't interrupt.

She continued, her eyes shining with a sincere, fearless look:

"I don't just see him as strong…

I see him as the one who can stand up to this darkness.

I see him as the hero who can protect me… and protect this world."

She paused for a moment, then added:

"The Hoodway is no longer safe…

Even if it's rebuilt."

The father looked at his daughter for a long time.

He saw in her eyes a prematurely formed decision, and behind her words, a bitter truth:

The danger was no longer fleeting…

It was stalking them across worlds.

He took a deep breath, then said in a heavy voice:

"I wanted to see you grow up here…

But this world has become a target."

He lowered his head, then looked at Lloyd:

"If you stay… you'll stay in the circle of death.

If you leave… you'll be in the eye of the storm."

He smiled sadly.

"But at least… with Lloyd, you're not alone."

He moved closer to Shira and placed his hand on her head.

"Go… and keep the name of the Hoodway in your heart."

That night, Lloyd stood at the threshold gate and felt a gaze behind him.

He turned and saw Shira standing there, her father behind her.

The man said,

"I entrust my daughter to you… for the path you are taking is the only one that may grant her salvation."

Lloyd did not reply immediately.

Then he bowed respectfully.

"I will protect her… as long as I can stand."

The threshold guard smiled faintly.

"And so… a new thread is joined to the fabric of destiny."

The gate moved.

And with it… the fate of Shira, Lloyd, and the path to Lord Zebra moved.
