Chapter 79 - Swimming

She said yes.

She didn't think about it.

Didn't weigh it or examine it or talk herself out of it the way she talked herself out of most things. He asked if she wanted to swim and something in her chest said yes before her brain had any say in the matter at all.

So yes.

She was standing at the edge of a moonlit pool at the bottom of a waterfall in the dark with the most feared Alpha in the territory sitting on a rock behind her watching her figure out how to do this.

Okay.

Fine.

She reached for the hem of her shirt.

Then stopped.

Turned away from him.

Not because she was ashamed. That ship had sailed a long time ago.....she had been thoroughly, completely, repeatedly not-ashamed in front of all three of them during the heat and she was not going to pretend otherwise. Her body was not the issue.

This just felt different.

The heat had been the heat. The ritual had been the ritual. Gold bars and contracts and her body making decisions her brain hadn't signed off on.
