Lilith's POV
She knew exactly what was happening to her body.
That was the difference.
Last time she'd been half-delirious. Burning up and barely conscious and so far gone into the fever that she hadn't been able to think in straight lines. She'd reached for them because her body demanded it and she hadn't had enough left in her to feel anything about that.
This time she was awake.
Completely, sharply awake.
The heat was back....worse than before, angrier, like it had rested and come back with a grievance....but underneath it she was there. Thinking. Aware. Her body screaming and her mind perfectly clear and both of them in complete agreement for the first time in five days.
She wanted this.
Not the fever. Not the compulsion. She wanted this. The three of them, here, in this dark room, and she was done pretending she didn't.
Sebastian's hand found her ankle in the dark.
"Come here," he said again. Quieter this time.
She moved towards Sebastian.
