I followed the host original memories and found her home. She owned a beautiful two story home, with a white concrete wall surrounding the property. The white gate entrance was just perfect. This property gave off a vibe that the owner was a private person. Perfect. Just what I need in order to survive. As I entered her home, I was excited to see that both the host and I had similar taste. Her whole interior décor was to my liking. The house had a hint of green, if I could name the color it would definitely be sage. A few other tones like sand and moss colors here and there. Very earthy if you asked me. She had plants that invigorated life into her home, and a beautiful citrus bloom serenade bouquet with orange and yellow roses. A very beautiful bouquet right at the center of the coffee table. I walked up the staircase, towards her bedroom. 'I should really stop saying her, I am the sole owner of this body now' I thought. I really wondered what happened to her soul. I hoped that she transmigrated into a body of a beautiful, loved young miss with no hardships. I would hate it if she was forced to go to my body in my world. God knows how much pain and suffering that life had been. I would not wish that upon her. I could feel that her soul left this world, otherwise why would it be so easy for me to control this body and mind. In all the novels I have read, the original host usually leaves a connection to the body which leads to the new soul not having full compatibility with the body. I do not feel that disconnection at all. To be honest, if I did not know better, I could have sworn this body was mine all along.
I went through her drawer, if I am not wrong her ring should be here. In the novel, the female lead shoved her to a herd of zombies. After her death, the male and female lead went back to the scene of her death and found her family heirloom. The female lead decided to keep it and accidentally activated a space. 'How ironic, not only did she kill her but she also took her belonging.'
Penelope walked towards the bathroom and grabbed a blade from the medicine cabinet. As she cut her thumb, she dropped a few drops of blood on the ring. Nothing happened. 'I am sure this is how the space was activated in the novel' she thought.
She decided to drench the whole ring in blood and not just the yellow topaz stone. She sat on the bed and waited for something to happen. Just as she was going to give up, she felt a pull in her soul. She closed her eyes as bright light surrounded her. When she opened her eyes to see her surrounding she was shocked. She was standing in a vast empty land. All she saw was green everywhere. As she kept walking she came across what looked like a spring. At the far end of the land was a home, it looked almost identical to the home her family owned. 'Spring water? Could this be the legendary spring water from the novels?' she thought. She walked up to the spring lake and grabbed a cup of water in her hands. As she took her first gulp, she felt warm all over. The water was sweet, but nothing like artificial water. This tasted almost pure, like natural sweetness. Then she felt pain all over her body. What was happening to her? She collapsed next to the spring water and started shaking from pain.
'Relax, breathe, just breathe' she told herself. 'This is nothing like Chemo, I can do this. This is nothing like that pain' she kept chanting. After a while, she felt the pain ease and decided to sit up. Once she sat down, she started meditating. One thing she learned from all those chemo sessions, was to relax the mind. Mind over matter. As long as she could control her mindset, nothing else would matter. 'Your mind can be your prison or your haven.'
When the pain finally subsided, she stood up. She felt lighter, like a heavy weight was lifted from her shoulders. She walked to the house and decided to wash up. As she was walking, she remember one important thing. She still did not know what she looked like. She got glimpse of it through memory but the image was a little blurry. She walked towards the mirror and gasped when she saw her reflection.
'This is insane. We look almost identical' she thought. She had the same face as in her world. The only difference is that in her world, her eyes were dark brown with black hair and pale ivory skin. In this world, I have fiery red hair, golden eyes and a light olive skin tone. 'How exotic' she thought. She always wanted to have a tan. Just as she was going to admire herself some more, she heard an alarm go off.
"Oh right, how do I get out of here?" she mumbled as she closed her eyes and thought 'leave'. Like magic, she was back in the outside world standing in the bathroom. She saw that the ring disappeared into a red dot on her index finger. It looked like small cinnabar mole. 'Okay, that's new' she thought.
She had no time to waste, she had a job to get to. Even though the world was going to end in 48 hours, she needed to get to work. She got dressed in a cream color midi slim turtleneck knitted dress with a brown leather belt. Paired it with brown leather boots and a brown leather work bag. 'time to get to work'
She drove straight to Remington Enterprises, where she worked as an executive assistant to Killian Remington. To be honest, Penelope was a little thrown off. This name was never mentioned in the novel. She was not sure what to expect. Her memories were also blurry when it came to her boss. It was like she was given a clean slate with this person. It almost gave her a rush of thrill, the unknown was both scary and fascinating to her. I mean, why wouldn't it be? She spent the last 6 months in a hospital ward, losing her hair, body emaciating, life leaving her body. Literally. This was a fresh start. She could be who she truly was, which coincidently was a similar personality to the O.G. Penny.
