Chapter 28 - Beyond The Only One 28

CHAPTER 28 — BEYOND THE ONLY ONE

The crack spread.

Across Finality.

Across the concept of "end."

Across Death itself.

Shirou exhaled slowly.

And moved.

Not by breaking free—

But by doing something far worse.

He continued.

"…You're right," Shirou said calmly.

"Everything ends."

His Domain began to collapse—

Not destroyed—

Discarded.

"I made a mistake."

The dust faded.

The authority vanished.

Even his overwhelming presence…

Dropped.

Riven's eyes widened. "…What are you doing?"

Shirou looked at his own hand.

Flexed it slightly.

"I limited myself again."

Null spoke, cautious now. "…Explain."

Shirou smiled faintly.

"I became 'the only one'…"

A pause.

"…which still means I'm part of something."

Silence.

Then—

Everything disappeared.

No Domain.

No dust.

No power system.

No hierarchy.

Nothing.

Shirou stood there—

Completely normal.

Completely human.

"…So I removed that too."

And then—

It happened.

Not an explosion.

Not a transformation.

Not power rising.

Absence of limitation itself.

No aura.

No pressure.

No detectable existence.

But both Riven and Null—

Froze instantly.

Because now—

They couldn't understand him.

Couldn't measure him.

Couldn't even confirm if he was there—

Or not.

"…What are you?" Riven whispered.

Shirou answered simply:

"I don't scale."

Null tried to activate Finality again—

Nothing happened.

Because there was nothing to "end."

Shirou stepped forward.

No resistance.

No delay.

No reaction possible.

He placed his hand on Null's shoulder.

And spoke quietly:

"You can't finish something…"

A pause.

"…that never entered the system to begin with."

Null's form began to fade—

Not erased—

But losing relevance.

Riven stepped back slowly.

"…Nah…"

For the first time—

Genuine fear.

"This isn't broken anymore…"

Shirou turned slightly.

"…It's undefined."

A soft breath.

And the entire battlefield—

Everything—

Collapsed into stillness.

No fight left.

No resistance possible.

Because Shirou hadn't just surpassed them—

He had gone somewhere power…

Could no longer follow.

TO BE CONTINUED.
