Chapter 15 - Vision lost in the middle of battle

He had no intention of using the other Star Energy Strike, saving it as a measure for the last resort.

Old Crook's eyes calculated rapidly as if he was trying to predict Lukas's next set of movements.

"Not so fast..." Suddenly a smile appeared on his ugly face. He clapped his hands together. Pah! Immediately another green poisonous cloud appeared around Lukas's figure, limiting his visibility as well as making it difficult for him to breathe.

Lukas was already prepared for this; as such, his plan didn't change. While the Old Crook's entire focus was on Lukas's figure, he didn't notice a sharp stone lying beside the boundary wall flying in his direction at fast speed.

One-Eyed Demon noticed something and shouted, "Watch out...!"

However, his warning came too late. The sharp stone hit Old Crook on the back of his neck. Thud! Immediately Old Crook collapsed on the ground.

Lukas changed his direction midway. The outcome was very expected; after all, he had targeted one of the fragile parts of the human body. Just using a little bit of human force could end the life of a human when hit on the back of the neck, and in this case, a sharp stone pulled by the Sovereign Grasp hit Old Crook. The impact generated by it was terrifying.

"Little Jack! Old Crook!"

No matter how much he tried to remain calm, seeing the subordinates that had accompanied him for years fall on the ground in a matter of seconds caused One-Eyed Demon's heart to shake.

It appeared they had hit a hornet's nest this time.

Meanwhile, Lukas had no other thoughts in his mind, his mind solely calculating on the most efficient way to get rid of the last remaining hostile.

I only have twenty seconds before my Star Energy runs out. If I don't finish him fast, I would be nothing more than a pig on a chopping board.

Lukas moved with a clear understanding of his current situation: twenty seconds, one strike of Star Energy Strike left. If he failed, it would be over.

One-Eyed Demon was so angry that words simply could not describe. At this point, he wanted to do some really bad things to this masked man.

His eyes filled with anger focused on Lukas's figure shooting toward him. "You think it's over just like this? It's not over until I win... let's see how fast you are once I take your vision."

With those words, Lukas's sprinting figure suddenly stopped for a very brief moment. Out of nowhere he had lost his vision from one eye.

Lukas's heart chilled; a very bad feeling rose in his heart. There was no sign, no pain—just directly loss of vision from one eye.

Focus, I can't get distracted. There are only fifteen more seconds remaining.

With renewed urgency he moved toward One-Eyed Demon, who was slightly surprised.

How did he not lose his composure? Although this talent was only Rare grade, but when used in the heat of battle, in most cases, his opponent would lose their bearing, giving him an opportunity to turn things around.

Suddenly a thought occurred to him and his expression turned ugly. A look of brief struggle flashed on his face then replaced by decisiveness.

"Damn you hiding rat bastard... you pushed me too far..."

Before Lukas could even understand why he said those words, One-Eyed Demon raised his hand and gouged his only remaining eye out.

For some reason Lukas felt a sense of overwhelming danger. Then darkness; he lost his vision completely.

"Argh!" A suppressed groan of pain escaped One-Eyed Demon's lips. His heart was burning with both sheer agony and fury.

His name was not always the One-Eyed Demon, but something that he got after awakening his talent... it was better to call it a curse.

As long as he was willing to sacrifice both of his eyes, he could temporarily take away others' vision.

Not even a decent ability; it was practically useless against higher-ranked Star Warriors, but now faced with the threat of death, he had no choice but to use it.

On the other hand, the gears inside Lukas's mind turned furiously, thinking of all sorts of ways to deal with his current situation. Finally, in the blink of an eye, he canceled the Fusion skill. He might have lost his vision, but Astral Bone Vanguard should be fine, right?!

With this thought, Lukas and the skeleton separated. Astral Bone Vanguard's hollow sockets had a burning flame in them, scanning its surroundings. Lukas had no idea about his surroundings or what else One-Eyed Demon was planning; killing him fast was his safest bet.

His train of thoughts had barely reached this point when he commanded in a cold tone, "Kill him!"

His figure was already backing away; although he might not be able to see now, he had a rough idea of just where he was exactly.

On the other hand, after receiving orders, Astral Bone Vanguard let out a deep breath, its hollow rib cage contracting and expanding, the engraved runes on its bone skeleton shining brighter. The next moment it jumped toward One-Eyed Demon using Stellar Reinforcement, star energy covering its bony frame. Immediately its bone thickness doubled; in just a moment's notice, the small-looking Astral Bone Vanguard seemed to have transformed into a small giant.

Lukas could do nothing except pray; he hoped that Astral Bone Vanguard would be able to take care of it fast.

Although One-Eyed Demon had lost both of his eyes, he still could see magically; as such, the figure of the charging Astral Bone Vanguard was clear in his eyes.

His pale face turned green from anger. Even after sacrificing his eyes, his opponent still had ways to survive. This was not fair.

This thought had barely occurred to him when a pure white fist enlarged in his vision. Bang! A muffled sound of something solid and hard striking hitting his face echoed in the surroundings. Like a ragdoll he was thrown into the air, several bones inside his body fractured, blood leaking from the corner of his mouth.
