Chapter 23 - Ayal gets to know what's in the body.

Aira suddenly turned and said quietly,

"I'm leaving."

The moment those words left her lips, she walked away.

Something in her expression felt wrong. It was as if she had seen something terrifying.

Ayal couldn't understand what was happening to her.

"Get some rest," Aira had said before disappearing down the corridor.

Now inside the room, only Ayal and Professor Sun God remained.

Professor Sun God stared at him for a moment before speaking.

"Looking at you now… you seem perfectly fine. It surprises me. You fought twice, yet you stand here without a scratch."

Ayal gave a faint smile.

"What are you trying to say, Professor? It's just luck… that I'm still alive."

After a short pause, Professor Sun God asked in a lower voice

"When you fight… does something else enter your body? Is that why you smile in such a terrifying way?"

Ayal shook his head calmly.

"No, Professor. It's not what you think. Nothing enters my body."

Professor Sun God narrowed his eyes, studying him carefully.

"If that's true… then may I check?"

"…Check what?" Ayal asked, confused.

"May I see what's inside you?"

"You want to… see inside my body?"

"Yes," Professor replied seriously. "If there is something dangerous within you, something that may harm you in the future, I need to know. But if you don't want me to, I won't force you."

Ayal hesitated.

"I'm only doing this for your sake," the Professor continued.

"Everyone was shocked by your actions. Professors, students… all of them. They thought you were a demon. I want to prove that you're innocent. That there's nothing inside you."

He extended his hand.

"So… will you let me see?"

Ayal swallowed.

"…How will you check?"

"I'll know through your hand. I can sense whether what lies inside you is good… or evil."

Ayal felt embarrassed, but slowly extended his hand.

"Alright… here."

Professor Sun God gently took his hand.

"Let me see what lies within…"

In an instant, the world changed.

The Professor found himself in a strange space.

Above him was the endless sky. Beneath him, a vast ocean. There was nothing else.

No darkness. No demonic presence.

"So… there's no demon inside him after all," he muttered.

Yet curiosity lingered.

If there was no demon, then perhaps the answer lay in his past.

"I must see his memories…"

The scenery shifted again.

Before him stood a small boy.

The boy's face was obscured by

shadow, impossible to see clearly. He wore a small brown shirt. His posture was still… silent.

Professor Sun God frowned.

"This is his past?"

Suddenly, the boy stepped forward.

In his hand was a small sword.

Before the Professor could react, the boy began speaking — but the words were incomprehensible, distorted, as if drowned in darkness.

Then—

Without hesitation, the boy drove the sword into his own face.

Blood splattered.

The Professor felt warm droplets stain his own cheek.

The boy collapsed to the ground.

Professor Sun God froze in shock.

"What… what was that? What happened to him?"

His heart pounded violently.

If that boy was part of Ayal's past… then something was terribly wrong.

A cold realization crept into his

mind.

"If this child becomes an obstacle to my plans… everything will be destroyed."

The ocean trembled.

The sky darkened.

And Professor Sun God finally understood—

There was no demon inside Ayal.

But something far more dangerous was sleeping within his past.
