Chapter 45 - Tale #44: The Snob Queen

Huh.. Dealing with her might get even harder in the near future, from what I seeing.

But My rule no.104 is that if you can't deal with something, then you just need to one single damn thing. and what is that ?

Easy. Give Up.

So, give up, i did.

"Haa... fine. Do whatever the hell you want." I massaged my temples, officially giving up on trying to map the chaotic brain system of this Spirit Queen's brain.

I am Too lazy to argue with you And I don't want to be called a stingy or a heartless prince by my own contracted spirit.

"That's exactly what I was about to do," she replied, a mischievous glint in her oceanic eyes.

Suddenly, her body began to pulse with a soft, azure radiance. The air around her hummed, and I watched in silent bewilderment as her silhouette began to contract.

The mana scattered into the air like dandelion seeds, and when the glow finally faded, the 170 cm goddess was gone.

In her place, hovering at eye level, was a little doll or should i say a little pixie.

"Done!" The 17 cm little spirit queen who was 170 cm, just a few moments ago, said while crossing her tiny arms with the same regal authority as before.

"...uh what... Just happened ?" I asked. This minimization ability was not something I was aware of.

"Can't you tell ? This is to minimize your own mana consumption. This queen is being thoughtful of you, boy!"

Despite shrinking, her voice and attitude was remained unchanged.

"I see..."

Spirits absorb their contractor's mana to materialize their body in the physical world. In other words, they are Mana-parasites.

Am i being Rude to all spirit kind ? Yes, but i couldn't find a better word for it.

So, as she says, this chibi form indeed does lessen the mana consumption. I can feel it.

Without waiting for an invitation, she zipped through the air like a blue dragonfly and landed squarely in the center of my pillow as if she owns this place.

"Hmm... soft. Sufficiently high-quality for a Queen's rest." She let out a contented hum and promptly sprawled out on her back.

I didn't argue. I didn't have the energy to. Instead, I set about the tedious task of playing 'Room Restorer.'

Which was setting the room and furniture to how it previously was.

I pushed my desk back to its corner and reorganized the chairs I'd moved for the ritual. I even scrubbed the magic chalk from the floorboards until the only evidence of my 'illegal' summoning was a tiny blue woman napping on my bed.

-*Knock* *knock*

After doing all the work, there was a knock on the door.

"Your Highness, dinner is ready!"

It was Mary, Calling me for dinner.

"Coming!" I called back to Mary, Calmly, as if I had not been doing anything special in my room.

I turned toward the door, but before my fingers could graze the handle, I felt a strange, light pressure settle onto my right shoulder. It was as if a heavy piece of jewelry had suddenly attached itself to my tunic.

I turned my head to the right to see what was going on.

And as expected...

"Mind explaining what you're doing there ?" I asked the culprit.

Yes, The miniature Water pixie queen was perched comfortably on my shoulder, her tiny legs swinging back and forth.

Actually, How the hell does a spiritual being have any weight ? curious.

"What ? Don't tell me you are planning to keep your spirit partner imprisoned in your tiny room ?" she replied, her tiny face twisted into an expression of profound annoyance.

Tiny ? That's a Royal fucking prince's room, Woman!

And Shouldn't it be me who is more annoyed here ? What's with this reverse uno move ?

"Haa... Do whatever you want." I muttered, giving up. again.

"I intend to." she shot back, smoothing out her azure dress.

"But I won't introduce you to anyone." I said.

Yes, there's no point in revealing my entire arsenal to people.

Some things are better when hidden, even from your own family.

"I don't expect you to." she said, her voice a tinkling bell in my ear. "Just keep your shoulder steady."

"Good" I nodded. This pixie really does only care about her own comfort.

After that i opened the door. There she was, Mary was waiting for me.

"Your Highness" she greeted me with a light bow. "Her Majesty is waiting for you at the Dining hall"

"Let's go. I'd hate to keep her waiting," I replied, stepping out into the hallway.

With that, I stride towards the dining hall with a blue haired pixie at my shoulders and my loyal maid following behind me.

We reached our dining hall.

Yes, Our dining hall and not the Arbutus dinning hall, which is large enough for twenty people to dine together.

But this dining hall belongs only to my mother and me.

It was the size of a regular royal room.

In the middle was a round table that could easily accommodate four people to dine together.

Two maids, our butler and our head chef were standing near the table with a service trolley, full of dishes.

"Ty! Come!" Mother called out the moment I stepped through the door.

She didn't wait for the butler to announce me. She stood up, swept across the room, and practically dragged me to my seat.

After ensuring I was properly tucked in, she bypassed the waiting maids and walked straight to the service trolley.

One by one, she began placing the trays on the table and serving the portions herself.

In any noble household, This would be a job that was supposed to be done by the maids or butler. But, Things don't exactly always go according to general tradition, when My mother is present.

But, maybe this is also Just one of her own ways of showing her love, as a mother.
