Chapter 86 - Chapter 86: Chaos at Dawn

Police stations across Magic City were nearly overwhelmed.

The situation downtown was still manageable—but the suburbs were pure chaos.

Imagine stepping into your orchard early in the morning, only to find a unicorn taller than you and a mantis with scythe-like arms sharpening its blades on your fence.

After the initial wave of panic, the officers gradually developed a routine.

First question:

"Is it showing any aggressive behavior?"

Second:

"If it's inside your property, try offering fruit or food to calm it down."

Human adaptability was remarkable. Once the first shock wore off, many people realized that these strange creatures weren't particularly hostile—

as long as you didn't go looking for trouble.

For example—

---

"Sir… please don't attempt something that dangerous again."

The young attending doctor spoke helplessly to the middle-aged man sitting before him, his neck secured in a brace.

Out of the corner of his eye, the doctor kept glancing nervously at the tall green mantis standing beside the hospital bed.

It was unmistakable.

Scyther.

Over six feet tall. Twin scythe arms gleaming coldly under the lights.

A monster.

According to the patient, he had "sparred" with it. During the match, Scyther had lightly tapped him with the back of one blade.

Lightly.

Result: almost fractured neck.

If not for the fact that the man appeared familiar with the Pokémon—and that Scyther had shown no hostility—security would never have allowed it inside.

At that moment, Scyther lowered its head slightly, looking at the man with clear guilt.

It swore it had barely used any strength.

Humans were far more fragile than expected.

Pokémon House Chat Group

MaleFox: @Everyone HOLY SH*T! Earthquake! Massive earthquake!

PoisonPetLover: It's not an earthquake. It's Pokémon appearing in Magic City, okay?

MaleFox: You saw them too?!

DragonAscends: The official announcement dropped at 5 AM. Pokémon have appeared in Magic City. Stay calm. Didn't you read it?

MissYun: The internet is exploding. There are Pokémon everywhere.

MeowthFan: I live in the western suburbs. I was taking Meowth out for morning training and saw a Pokémon bigger than me fly overhead… Pokédex says it's called Pidgeot. (facepalm.jpg)

LittleBirdYiren: Why did so many Pokémon suddenly appear? And why does it feel like the authorities already knew?

Lily: ????

Lily, who had just woken up, stared at the chat in confusion.

Then she shot upright.

Pokémon… the boss mentioned this before!

She immediately opened social media and found the official Magic City account.

Official Statement – Magic City

> "Today, a large number of Pokémon have appeared throughout Magic City. Please remain calm and do not panic.

If you encounter unfamiliar creatures, keep a safe distance and avoid disturbing them.

Pokémon are generally docile by nature. Residents may ignore them when possible.

If attacked, please dial emergency services immediately.

Current research suggests that Pokémon will gradually become part of our shared ecosystem. It is possible that humans and Pokémon will coexist on this planet.

Please trust the authorities. We will ensure public safety to the best of our ability.

Do not harm, provoke, or enter deep wilderness areas for the time being.

Further updates will follow."

Lily inhaled sharply.

Pokémon had truly arrived.

And judging from the tone, the government's stance was clearly friendly toward them.

The comment section was in chaos.

"When I woke up, the world had changed overnight."

"Has the capital turned into a Pokémon dungeon?"

"This feels premeditated! They've only been promoting Pokémon for days and now they're everywhere!"

"Stop with the conspiracy nonsense. Do you know how huge Magic City is?"

"My house is in the eastern suburbs. A Sandshrew dug up my vegetable field and I couldn't chase it away with a broom!"

Lily scrolled for over ten minutes before snapping out of it.

Why was she still reading comments?!

She dialed a number while pulling on her clothes.

"Emma! Are you still sleeping? I'm coming to pick you up. Ten minutes. Get up! The good times are here and you're snoring like a pig!"

Without even putting on makeup, Lily rushed straight to the garage.

Natural beauty. Makeup unnecessary.

Pokémon House

Ren yawned as he opened the shop door.

Then blinked.

"Boss! You're finally awake!"

"...What are you two doing here?"

Ren stepped aside, staring at the energetic Lily and the still half-asleep Emma.

"Ultra Balls! Give me thirty Ultra Balls! And that space backpack from the official site!"

"Actually—make it double. Emma needs some too!"

"Sure," Ren replied calmly while placing items on the counter. "But don't you two have school today?"

"School? With Pokémon everywhere? What's the point of school?" Lily flipped her bangs dramatically. "I'm destined to become a Pokémon Master."

Emma rolled her eyes.

Give it two days and she'll cry when her aunt lectures her.

Ren smiled faintly.

"Sixty Ultra Balls. Two space backpacks. Total—82,000."

The two paid without hesitation.

Lily eagerly inspected the blue backpack. It looked normal on the outside, yet had astonishing internal capacity.

Black technology.

She didn't question it.

"If you're heading into the wild," Ren added casually while holding Manaphy, "don't go too deep. Your current strength can't handle stronger wild Pokémon."

Some of the newly arrived Pokémon weren't beginner-level.

Some were even Totem-tier.

If Lily and Emma encountered one of those…

Running would be their only option.

"Relax!" Lily grinned confidently. "Future Pokémon Master here."

Ren tilted his head.

"Good luck."

"Wait for our triumphant return, boss!"

Western Suburbs

Thirty minutes later, Lily and Emma parked their car and entered the wilderness on foot.

"Wow! Spearow!"

"Ooh—Rattata!"

"Pidgey doesn't look that strong."

Lily excitedly scanned each Pokémon with her Pokédex.

The novelty was intoxicating.

"You're not catching any?" Emma asked while recording data as well.

"I'm going to be a Dragon-type specialist," Lily declared proudly.

Emma shrugged. She wasn't aiming for a specific type—but she refused to catch something mediocre just for the sake of it.

"Wow! That lake is beautiful!"

Lily ran toward a sparkling lake ahead.

Emma shook her head and sipped water from her space backpack. At her feet, Squirtle carefully photographed the scenery like a little artist.

The breeze carried the scent of grass and trees.

Peaceful.

Almost too peaceful.

Emma frowned slightly.

Had the western suburbs always been this beautiful?

Then—

"AHHHH!"

"Emma! Save me! Emma!!"

Emma's head snapped up.

Lily was sprinting toward her at full speed.

Behind her—

An enormous serpentine body over eight meters long.

Water tank-thick.

Fangs large enough to swallow a person whole.

Savage.

Gyarados.

"Are you kidding me?!"

Emma blurted out in perfect, furious Mandarin.

How did this idiot provoke something like that?!

Squirtle froze.

Entire turtle.exe has stopped working.

"Emma, save me!"

"Save your head! Stay away from me! Don't drag it over here, you lunatic!"

Emma turned and ran without hesitation, screaming back at Lily.

The peaceful wilderness shattered into chaos
