Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Priceless Beauty

"So beautiful!"

Lily stared at Diancie with shining eyes.

She looked like she was made of brilliant diamonds, with a delicate and adorable face—and she was even wearing what looked like a tiny white dress.

Wow!

Diancie was clearly startled by Lily's intense gaze. She hopped back a few steps, instinctively keeping some distance, then blinked and looked at Lily in confusion.

"Boss! Is this also a pet from your shop?"

Lily hurriedly asked Ren, who was walking over.

Emma was also staring at Diancie in amazement.

"Yes," Ren replied with a smile. "This is my partner, Diancie. But she's not for sale."

It was almost impossible for girls to resist beautiful things—let alone something as dazzling and lively as Diancie.

"Is it really impossible? The price can be discussed…"

"There's no need to ask," Jason cut in casually before Lily could finish. "Diancie's already been bid up to five million outside, and the boss didn't even give them a chance to negotiate."

That was true.

Under Ren's pinned comment on Station B, people were already throwing out absurdly high offers for Diancie.

Some were even willing to pay five million—that was the highest price before Jason had even come to the shop.

Diancie was simply too beautiful and too eye-catching. Not to mention… she could dance to Pure Land.

"Five million isn't much," Lily said, curling her lips. "Boss, are you really not willing to sell?"

Judging by her tone and expression, she truly didn't care about five million at all.

Jason stared at her in shock.

Good grief. A genuine rich girl.

"I wouldn't sell her for any amount," Ren said calmly with a smile. "Diancie is priceless to me. She's family."

Selling her for hundreds of millions?

That was a joke.

"What a pity…"

Lily sighed regretfully. She was genuinely captivated by Diancie's beauty.

But then her eyes suddenly lit up again.

"Boss, what about that little fox?"

She pointed at the yawning Vulpix lying on the counter.

So cute! And it had six tails!

"Hey—Vulpix is mine!"

Jason's expression tightened instantly. He hurried over, scooped up the still-drowsy Vulpix, and declared ownership loud and clear.

He'd already borrowed money from his cousin—there was no way he was letting this slip.

"Boss, give me your payment code."

Jason quickly turned to Ren, afraid that even a second's delay might cause trouble.

"Tch~ It's not like I'm going to steal him."

Lily rolled her eyes, amused. This kid was way too jumpy.

"Alright. Diancie, bring the payment code."

Ren said to Diancie, then glanced at Lily.

A big customer indeed. No wonder she was Emma's friend.

"So, miss, you're also here to buy a Pokémon?"

"Yes," Lily nodded. "You should still have some available, right?"

After seeing both Diancie and Vulpix, her interest had skyrocketed.

"Of course. Take a look first. Since you're Miss Emma's friend, you already know the process."

Ren handed her the illustrated selection book.

"I know," Lily said as she flipped through it. "But boss—there aren't any ugly Pokémon here, right?"

Ren paused for a moment, then answered thoughtfully.

"I can't guarantee that. Everyone's tastes are different. But I can promise that every Pokémon in my shop is unique."

After all, he had no idea what Lily would draw.

"But this is a business," Ren continued with a smile. "We aim to satisfy our customers."

"If you draw a Pokémon you truly don't like, you can pay to draw again—though I personally don't recommend it."

"That's fine."

A confident smile appeared on Lily's face.

As long as she could redraw, money wasn't an issue at all.

After all, she was a legendary spender.

"Alright~ Lucky Charm, bless me!"

Lily clasped the book dramatically, muttering something incomprehensible that made Emma facepalm, then tapped Start.

Nearby, Jason scanned the payment code Diancie handed him and completed his payment, while also glancing over curiously.

He was genuinely interested in what kind of Pokémon this rich girl would pull.

The black silhouette flickered rapidly—then slowly came to a stop.

"Huh? What's this? A little lizard?"

Lily blinked, staring at the result, then looked toward Ren, who was helping Jason pack Energy Cubes.

"Boss, can you tell me what this is?"

Ren raised an eyebrow and walked over.

"Oh—your luck is excellent," he said with surprise. "This is Charmander."

"Wow. That's one of the iconic starter Pokémon families. Two starters in one day—now that's rare."

"A fire dragon?!"

Lily's eyes lit up instantly.

Dragon?!

Jason and Emma were both stunned.

"Uh… not exactly what you're imagining," Ren hesitated, then tried to explain—before realizing his wording was a bit off.

Strictly speaking, Charmander and its final evolution, Charizard, aren't Dragon-type Pokémon.

But in terms of appearance alone… Charizard really did look like a Western dragon.

And on top of that, Charizard's Mega X form was a Dragon-type.

"If you're just judging by appearance when it grows up," Ren said after a moment's thought, "then yes—Charmander can be considered a dragon."

"Boss, you're not lying to us, right?" Emma asked in disbelief. "Do dragons really exist?"

What kind of dragon was this? Dragons weren't supposed to exist in the real world.

"Not the dragons from Eastern mythology," Ren replied calmly. "But something closer to Western dragons—winged, reptilian."

"And our shop operates with integrity. We don't deal in fraud."

"What I sell here are Pokémon—not ordinary pets."

Ren wasn't offended by Emma's doubt at all. His tone remained steady and confident.

After all, dragons were legendary creatures that had never appeared before. Skepticism was natural.

If Ren uploaded a video of Charmander online and claimed it would one day evolve into a Western-style dragon, most people would think he'd lost his mind.

So he stayed calm.

Because when Charizard finally appeared—

They would understand.
