Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: A Decision Made by Instinct Unaltered by Pride

He didn't complicate things too much in his mind; he considered everything that might happen.

If I take this gold, it's already too much, and he'll discover the shortage and might search for it, especially if I buy my freedom with it, it will be perfectly obvious that I'm the one who took it...

But how could I let such a fortune go to waste? I couldn't do that... Even if it belonged to a royal family, Charmaine, I'd never get an opportunity like this again..." He didn't want to give up the fortune.

Although it wasn't his, he coveted it, and he knew the danger and the trouble that might befall him if he took it and was discovered.

He considered both sides of the solution at that moment.

"I'll go back to the same plan I made last night; I'll take my freedom, and I'll take the fortune all and hide it well..."

He decided he wouldn't give it up. There were four bags of money placed inside the back of the carriage. He released his spirit field and surrounded all the bags with it; his field was as hazy as dust,

And it emits a weak heat.

Leeward pressed his hand against the field, and the burlap sacks rose slightly off the ground. This was control of a spiritual field.

He could carry anything, provided it was no more than twice his own weight, and the higher his level, the stronger he was, of course.

He himself weighed no more than 90 kg, while all these sacks weighed about 150 kg, so it was within his range.

Leeward climbed down from the wagon quickly, the sacks floating behind him. He stepped out of a pool of blood, his nose quivering at the sharp smell in the air. He took off his wooden sandals and put them in his hand, then began to run across the dirt ground. He hadn't forgotten about his sheep yet; he planned to return to them quickly.

"I must get to the hill to the north quickly; I'll hide the sacks there until I need to use them..."

He continued to run fast, like an arrow covering three meters per second

After running at the same brisk pace for some time, Leeward reached a high hill. He stood on it, looking up at a mountain that took the sky's peak all by itself. It was a lonely gray piercingThe high heavens.

"Finally, after half a knot, sunset had already arrived. I had no more time to waste."

A knot is a full hour used as a measure of time.

His chest rose rapidly and then fell. He was panting with exhaustion, so much so that cold steam escaped his mouth with each sigh. He didn't give himself time to rest until he stepped toward the mountain.

The whole area was full of large stones and rough paths, like a rocky valley. The mountain in front of him was no more than 120 meters high, but because of its arrow-like structure, it seemed very tall.

The ground froze his feet with frost until he reached a large boulder in front of him.

"The place is right..."

He put down all the bags and rested; he had consumed a quarter of the spiritual energy from the field, and this made him a little tired.

How do I move it without breaking it? Because... what..."

He tried to find a way to move the boulder until he heard a scratching sound on his sideHe turned his head and tried to find the source of the sound.

Large rocks surrounded him, and it wasn't easy to find anything.

"I'm sure I heard a sound beside me..."

He felt a little uneasy, but calmed himself. If it had been a powerful monster, he would have charged immediately and killed it; Leward wasn't a strong warrior that monsters would fear.

"That's not what I wanted... a monster appearing now... I don't have time to deal with you..."

He placed his hands directly under the rock, strengthened his grip, and then lifted it with all his might, shouting muffledly.

He felt a sharp pain in the muscles of his arms and back.

"Move..."

His face turned bright red, until he felt the rock begin to rise slowly, dust scattering beneath it.

But at that moment, a small, dog-like monster, covered in brown fur, crept up. This was the Stone Cat.

But it was still small, not yet grown; Stone Cats grow to the size of horses.

It charged immediately with quick steps that Leward didn't hear

And it bit his leg from behind with a sharp sound.

It began to move its jaw, trying to immobilize Leeward, but it was no use.

Leeward, at the same time, was under a great deal of pressure. He cried out in pain from the bite; this was shocking, even though he had expected something to attack him at this moment.

He didn't let go of the rock, for letting go was not a decision he would make at that moment. Instead, he pushed forward, with the stone cat clinging to his leg from behind, and he didn't want to back down from his prey.

After forcing himself, he moved the rock about four paces, and that was enough for him. He set it on the ground and removed his hands from it.

Then he turned his head to the stone cat, which was biting his leg with its still-immature fangs, and he showed no anger at it.

It's still a pup, a pup that doesn't move on its own. Its mother might be nearby, and if I get into a fight with a beast like a fully grown stone cat, I'll be a disaster for myself...

He let it thrash about there without harming it

But before that, he removed it from himself, tore its jaw from its leg and placed it between rocks that resembled a small fortress

This is your place... Try to get out

He only hoped to himself that this little stone cat wouldn't start howling for its mother...

He went straight back to his work and dug a deep hole in the previous spot where the rock had been. This didn't take him long because of his physical strength.

The hole was longer than him, and when he entered it, it completely submerged him, as he was only 1.75 centimeters tall, which was of average height, while the hole was about two meters deep underground.

He got out of the hole afterward, brought the bags of wealth and put them all there, then covered them with dirt.

As he worked, he felt that the little stone cat was no longer around, which made him feel a little relieved.

"Perhaps it has just left or gone back to its mother..."

He closed the hole again, then roughly lifted the rock and put it back in its place. He remembered the location well before leaving the hill to the north, then turned completely around and walked back quickly to his sheep

Until he saw the little stone cat, who was messing around with some small spiders on the ground, trying to kill and eat them

He had to learn how to survive in this harsh world from childhood.

He showed his instincts fully, stomping on spiders. Leeward looked at that scene for a while. A true instinct.

Everyone has an instinct they are born with, even humans, and trying to suppress or change it will only lead to a loss of identity.

"I am content with myself as I am. I don't need to change my thinking."

This made him trust his born pride even more, and this was the truth he was born with as a human, completely rejecting slavery.

His gaze was calmer than before, and there was a musty smell that permeated the air. Leeward was surprised by the smell of garbage.

"It smells like a corpse..."

As soon as he turned his head to the left, he saw the body of an adult stone cat lying on the ground, and it appeared to have died of disease. Leeward immediately deduced

"It's the mother of this little stone cat..."

So this little beast, although still at an age where it depended on its mother, was beginning to show its instincts in

Hunting and searching for food to sustain him.

He moved quickly toward her and crouched down beside her. There were no wounds or injuries on her body, but her skin reflected the gray moonlight.

The light pierced through large gray clouds, like giants in that cold night. Her skin was completely purple. He opened her eyes to see that they were rotting purple.

"She's been poisoned... She must have eaten a poisonous insect..."

That was the only logical explanation, so he didn't complicate things too much.

He released his spiritual field, formed an aura like a blade in his hand, and stabbed the corpse's chest, inserting his hand inside. The corpse was cold and its blood clotted until he reached the heart.

There, he pierced the heart cruelly until he reached the spiritual foundation stone, pulled it out of the corpse's heart, and then brought it out into the air to look at it.

"It's still intact, unaffected by the poison. This is good... It seems I've been lucky tonight."

A small satisfaction filled his heart

The spiritual foundation stone is found in every living being, evenhumans. It lies directly in the heart and is considered the basis of the power of the blood

stenma...

He leaned his head back and looked at the stone between his fingers. It was like a gray sapphire, and he then began to think about taking the Spiritual Stone of the Little Stone Cat.

These are spiritual refinement resources, and letting them go to waste is not a good thing
