Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Cosmic

Outside the smothering wreckage, four scouts were now conducting the test, three were fully on guard and armed. While the remaining two dragged the bloodied body of the second division son and commander in cuffs on their hands into the spaceship. It seems that they escaped at the last second before their spaceship exploded into bits.

Strangely instead of them to be scared or something, they both had a creepy smile on their faces especially the second division son.

"Mother would come to my rescue, but you guys just lost the most valuable person under your nose and you don't even know it!" he said with a twisted smile.

The scout didn't pay mind to the nonsense he was rambling and shoved him inside. When he came back out of the spaceship he went to the scouts still conducting the test.

"Any sign of the kid yet?" he asked.

"No," one of them replied.

"I don't understand. We've checked several times over and couldn't find even a remains,"another added.

"That's the problem. After the explosion his signature vanished like if it never existed to begin with."

"Download a detailed file of the boy." the first scout ordered. "This little scouting just got even more crazier."

*Wincing*

"Hmm.... hmmmm..... what happened?" Nova asked, wincing as he slowly sat up. He rubbed his head trying to recollect what had happened.

"Uncle Noah?" He said suddenly. His eyes scanning frantically around him, trying to a catch the hint of that familiar emotionless face. But instead was met with a large expanse of white. "...Where am I?"

The question echoed within him, unanswered.

Nova eyes widened in disbelief as thought crossed his mind. "Wait am I dead? " He didn't want to believe it, but it sounded plausible. After all the spaceship did blew up. He couldn't help but let a long dejected sigh.

*Sigh*

"So that means back then... the voice, it was all an auditory hallucination?" Nova felt a little heart broken he really hoped it was Noah's voice he had heard back then. But a voice suddenly cut through his sadness.

"I thought you'd cry I had brought out my tissue to weep with you" the tone was full of sarcasm. And Nova immediately recognize the voice.

"You... what are you doing here? Don't tell me you were killed?" Nova laughed.

The man with the long silver-white hair didn't respond, but instead he shook his head slightly and he looked at Nova with a look of pity, as if staring at a fool who was using his own hands to ruin his future.

"What?" Nova asked sharply he didn't like the way he was being looked at.

"Nothing, it's just that it pains me to see you being foolish. Or if it's you chooses to"

Nova was irked and he gritted is teeth. "What do you mean?"

"Open your eyes and look around you" the man said.

Nova glanced around but didn't notice anything unusual or different. He then looked back at the man. He stared at him as if staring at a mentally unstable old man.

The man didn't get angry. He just calmly walked towards Nova. "You looking at me that way doesn't prove anything. It only makes you look more of a fool than you already are."

"You son of—"

*Flick*

Before Nova could curse in his mind he received a hard flick to his forehead. "Ouch! What was that for?"

"Remember I can hear your every thought. And also, why is it that you often forget the most basic things?"

Nova didn't answer. He just glared at the man and rub the sore spot of his forehead.

Seeing Nova not responding, he just smiled dismissively. "Fine I'll tell your forgetful brain again. I said: use your mind instead of your eyes."

Nova didn't answer and was still glaring at the man but inwardly he was focused, using his minds instead of his eyes. That was when he felt it the world shifting, reality bending.

OWOOHOOM!

Instead of books they were filled with square-shaped cards, which were neatly arranged in several aisles. Nova's mouth slowly fell open wide enough to fit an egg.

"A Skill Library?!"

Nova blurted out in shock. It was a Skill Library, but was different, it felt alive. This place weren't like Skill Library Nova had seen or been too. There were no lighting in the room yet he had no problem seeing it. Was it because he was using his mind instead of his eyes? He wondered but decided to leave it at that as he continued to look at that place it felt and looked like a place l made by a god, for gods.

The silver-white haired man just smiled. He seemed to have expected this reaction from Nova and was equally satisfied. He then walked towards an aisle with the word "Light" engraved on the floating sign. And started moving his hands along the shelves, as if he was searching for something.

"But how could there be so many skills cards here and they all look top class." Nova was still reeling in shock by the numbers of skill cards here. He couldn't comprehend what was going on. Truly today was definitely full of surprises and Nova had a feeling that the next surprise might drive him insane.

Nova followed closely behind the man. He stared at all the skills cards in each shelves and at glance he could tell there were all definitely high teir, but even a top tier Cyast couldn't create skill card to such perfection. "... So are you the one in charge of looking after this Skill Library?" Nova decided to ask the man.

"I'm not the one in charge..." Before the man could finish what he was saying Nova immediately cut in:

"So where the manager?"

The man felt like smacking Nova across the face. "Listen up... There's no manager... And I all the skill cards you see was created by me"

"Ehh?!"

Looking at the skill cards lining the shelves, numbering in the thousands, he was left completely stunned. Even a top-tier Cyast couldn't possibly create that many in an entire lifetime, not even if they had started learning from the womb. Yet somehow... all of them had been created by a single person.

Nova impression of the man in front of him change greatly. Seeing this the man had a smug expression.

"Is he some kind of genius scholar with spacial talent?"

The man snapped instantly. "Do I look like a scholar to you?! I told you earlier... I am the one you call the creator."

"You might be role-playing? And do you have another name except from Creator?"

The man remained silent. His hands just move along the shelves then he took out three and tossed them at Nova.

"Take them, it would save you sad ass in the God's Ruins when you decide to search for the Kale."

Nova caught all three cards, but a look of confusion couldn't help spread across his face "Why give me all this? I don't have the mark. I'm not a Channeler and I can't enter the God's Ruins"

"That may apply to everyone else but not you. How where you able to use that movement skill I gave up." the man said.

"You gave me...? So it was really a skill... But how? I don't have the Mark..."

Then suddenly the world started sifting and reality started bending again but this time it seems different like, Nova felt like he was leaving. He didn't felt leaving because he had many questions in his minds to ask and he needed answer to them. But he could only leave it until next time. But one question escaped him.

"What's is your other name?" Nova didn't know why he had asked that.

The silver-white haired man nonchalantly glanced at Nova. "Cosmic"

"You set this up didn't you?" Nova asked seeing through his bad acting skills.

Cosmic just smiled and said nothing. But that was Nova's confirmation.

"... What a weirdo"
