Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Out of the Tiger's Den, Into the Wolf's Lair

Setting aside why the dog System recommended capturing every single girl it evaluated, why was the reward for this Bond Mission "Toxic Points"? Was he really that toxic?

Simon racked his brain until a memory that made his toes curl surfaced.

It was back when Simon had just started dating Mei. He was 16 years old. He was waiting for Mei to arrive for a date, scrolling through videos on his phone. He stumbled upon a video of Elysia and let out a weird laugh.

"Guhehe... Ellie... my Ellie~ (Darkly crawling on the floor)"

To be fair, a pure Elysia simp should have the following reaction upon seeing her:

Acting unwise toward Ellie.

Wasn't that normal?

But for some reason—perhaps the mysterious will of the Great Universe intervened—at that exact moment, a shadow loomed over Simon.

He looked up and found a Pink Devil.

Gwah! It's the Pink Fat Lady! Everyone run!

Taking two steps back, Simon remembered what he had just said. His brain, short-circuiting, controlled his mouth to ask stiffly:

"You are?"

"A maiden as beautiful as flying flowers, Elysia... that is me~ You seemed to be saying something interesting just now. Could you say it again for me?"

The pink-haired maiden stroked her hair, smiling brightly. But in young Simon's eyes, she was terrifying.

You heard it, didn't you! You definitely heard it just now!

Mom! I don't want to simp for Ellie anymore!

...

As the embarrassing memory flooded back, Simon understood why the System judged his behavior as "Toxic."

[Evaluation: Eww! Otakus are disgusting!]

Fine. I can't even argue with that.

Avoid the sharp edge. Endure for now.

Simon mechanically followed behind Mei and Elysia until they reached the Technical Department, where he saw Vill-V and Kevin signing off on acceptance forms.

Thank god! It's Boss Kevin! We are saved!

"Kevin! Let's go! Let's go fishing! Call Su too! Where's Pardo? Call Pardo too, let her open the door for us!"

Simon grabbed Kevin's hand, intending to drag him away immediately.

At least for today, I cannot stay with Ellie! I must ask the dog System if it has a memory deletion function. I need to erase that memory!

"Eh? I don't mind, but Su has work today and can't come. As for Pardo, she's probably sleeping somewhere? I can call her, but... are you really in that much of a hurry?"

Kevin hesitated, seeing Simon's desperate state.

"That won't do~ I just heard Mei say you still have other work today~"

A voice that was sweet and cute, yet sounded like a devil to Simon, rang out from behind him. The highlights in his eyes vanished.

Mei... I don't love you anymore.

"Although balancing work and rest is efficient, I personally suggest finishing your work first."

Vill-V, having finished signing the papers, calmly offered her evaluation.

Professor V! Save me!

Simon saw hope again. He didn't care about anything else and grabbed her hand directly.

Let me think. This personality should be the Expert, right?

"Professor Vill-V, remember that technical detail I asked you about last time? You said it was best to discuss it in person. Come, come, over here. Let's chat in detail."

Even if he couldn't leave the company, Simon wanted to avoid Elysia as much as possible.

"Hmm..." Vill-V frowned. Even as the Expert, she wasn't unreasonable. She glanced at Elysia and saw no objection.

"Alright. Let's go to the office then."

She decided to cover for Simon.

"Then I'll be going first. You guys take your time chatting!"

Simon hurriedly dragged Vill-V away, leaving behind a smiling Mei and Elysia, and a thoughtful Kevin.

"Thanks, Vill-V. I'll treat you to dinner next time?"

Having successfully escaped back to his office, Simon collapsed onto the sofa without any regard for his image, chugging water.

Why does dealing with Ellie feel harder than dying in a dungeon a few times?

Leaning against the wall, Vill-V didn't respond to the dinner offer. Instead, she asked another question.

"I am curious. Why are you so afraid of Elysia? You try to hide every time you see her."

As expected of Professor V. Going straight for the heart.

Simon's hand froze mid-drink, then slowly lowered the cup.

"Is... is it that obvious?"

"Of course. Everyone knows." Vill-V shrugged. "I mean, including Elysia."

By "everyone," she meant the thirteen shareholders of the World Serpent Group.

Since it was out in the open, Simon sighed and spilled everything like pouring beans.

"Rather than being afraid of her, I'm more afraid of what she might do to me... or what I might do to her."

No matter what, Simon loved Mei. He didn't want to do anything to hurt her. At least for now, he still wanted to be a good man (Genuine).

"Since you are afraid of Elysia, then why do you dare to be alone with me?"

Vill-V's tone suddenly changed. It became more spirited, theatrical. A teasing smile played on her lips as she walked toward Simon.

Why did she switch to the Magician personality?!

Realizing something was wrong, Simon leaned back tactically, preparing to flee.

But Vill-V was fast. She pinned Simon directly onto the sofa, pressing her entire body against him.

"Aren't you afraid... that I might want to do something to you too?"

With a triumphant smile, she brought her face close to his.

Professor V! No!

Simon felt Vill-V's fleshy, snow-white thighs pressing against his lower abdomen, rubbing mischievously. It was igniting a wicked fire in him. Her upright softness pressed against his chest, seemingly inviting him to explore.

He wanted to push her away, but fearing his superhuman strength might hurt her, he could only grab her shoulders firmly.

"We... We can't do this, Vill-V..."

At least not in the company! What if Mei sees us?!

In their hushed breathing, Simon smelled a scent of lemon zest mixed with rosin on her—refreshing... No! Not the time to think about that!

Vill-V tried to get closer, but with her shoulders firmly held by Simon, she lost the leverage she had gained from her initial pounce. After a few futile attempts, she stood up, looking somewhat unwilling.

"Fine. I'll leave this sort of thing to the Original Personality. I won't overstep my bounds."

Acting tough is cute too, Professor V.

"Consider this a reminder for today. Some people aren't as easy to talk to as I am. Be careful not to stay alone in a room with them~"

Like a scumbag girl after the deed is done, Vill-V turned and left, leaving a bewildered Simon with those parting words.

Huh? There are more high-level players?
