Chapter 23 - A Demon King Blocks the Path? A True Dragon Soars to the Heavens?

The white-haired old man led Sia Xiao and Uncle Jiu to the market at the foot of Cloud-Drifting Mountain.

"Master, this market is where we encountered Quinn Ye," Sia said.

The white-haired old man hummed in acknowledgement. He immediately closed his eyes and used his Spiritual Sense to scan the entire market.

With his profound cultivation, the old man could see everything in the market clearly in an instant.

But soon, he looked disappointed.

There were a few martial artists in the market.

But they were all of low cultivation, unworthy of his attention.

Naturally, none of them could be that Mysterious Expert.

However, on second thought...

Perhaps the Expert has been hiding his cultivation all along, wishing to roam the mortal world as an ordinary person.

Maybe the Expert is among those mortals I just scanned.

So, the white-haired old man calmed his mind and began to wander around the market physically.

Sia sent Uncle Jiu back to the Northern River first, while she accompanied her Master.

They wandered for a full seven days.

The white-haired old man had thoroughly mapped out this small market.

He even knew exactly how many elderly people and children were there.

But he still hadn't found Quinn Ye.

"Could the Expert have already left?" the old man guessed.

Suddenly, Sia remembered something.

"Oh right! He seemed to know Old Man Huang, the storyteller at the teahouse."

The white-haired old man glared at her.

"Why didn't you say so earlier?"

Sia felt awkward.

"Please forgive me, Master. I forgot."

The old man: "..."

Now that they had a clue, they naturally hurried to find him.

The master and disciple arrived at the teahouse.

Coincidentally, Old Man Huang was telling a story.

And the story he was telling was The Legend of the Condor Heroes, which Quinn had taught him.

Old Man Huang spoke with great emotion and passion.

The teahouse was packed, with no empty seats. The manager was grinning from ear to ear, constantly directing the waiters to refill tea for the guests.

Ever since Quinn told a story here once, the teahouse's business had been booming every day.

It was infinitely better than before.

Although Quinn hadn't returned, Old Man Huang could retell the story of the Condor Heroes.

"Master, that is Old Man Huang," Sia pointed at the storyteller.

The white-haired old man glanced at Old Man Huang and confirmed that this man had zero cultivation.

He didn't interrupt directly. Instead, he stood aside and listened to Old Man Huang's story.

Unknowingly, even the white-haired old man became immersed, his thoughts following the flow of the story.

After one segment concluded and many guests left, the old man finally signaled Sia to go ask questions.

Soon, Sia returned.

"Master, I asked. It seems Quinn Ye lives on the nearby Cloud-Drifting Mountain."

"Cloud-Drifting Mountain?"

The white-haired old man frowned slightly.

He remembered visiting this place before.

Thinking back carefully, he recalled that a hundred years ago, he had fought a fierce enemy and chased him all the way past Cloud-Drifting Mountain.

Back then, when he passed the mountain, he thought the black fog was natural. He accidentally triggered a restriction and almost lost his life there.

Now, the black fog on the mountain had completely dissipated.

This meant the restrictions were gone.

"Could it be the work of that Expert?" the old man conjectured.

He composed himself and walked up the mountain with Sia.

Not long after they started climbing.

The white-haired old man suddenly stopped.

"Master, what's wrong?" Sia looked at him in confusion.

The old man didn't speak. instead, he stared ahead with a solemn expression.

Sia followed his gaze.

She saw a Golden Retriever lying on a rock not far away, lazily sunbathing.

The dog even exposed its belly, looking completely relaxed and languid.

"That's the dog that follows Quinn Ye!"

Sia recognized it immediately.

She wanted to walk over, but the white-haired old man grabbed her and held her back.

"What is it, Master?" Sia was puzzled.

The old man's expression was extremely grave, even showing a hint of fear.

He stared at the Golden Retriever, his breathing becoming heavy.

"That... is a Demon King!"

Sia froze.

What?

A Demon King?

The white-haired old man's eyes were filled with apprehension. He dared not move forward.

He bowed deeply to Big Fuzz.

"This old man, Cosmo, greets the Demon King!"

Big Fuzz stuck out his tongue but didn't respond.

Master Cosmo became even more nervous.

Because he couldn't see through Big Fuzz's depth at all.

But he was certain this was a Demon King.

A King among Demons.

Even in the Demon Race's territory, the number of Demon Kings wouldn't exceed ten.

Every Demon King possessed earth-shattering abilities.

Destroying a kingdom would be a walk in the park for them.

Master Cosmo was considered a rare master among humans.

But compared to a Demon King, there was still a gap.

"Wait... you said this Demon King is with that Expert?" Cosmo suddenly asked.

Sia nodded repeatedly.

Cosmo trembled internally.

As expected!

That Quinn Ye is absolutely an incredible Expert.

He can even command a Demon King.

That is terrifying.

To command a Demon King... what kind of horrifying existence is he?

Master Cosmo was knowledgeable, but in history, only the Heavenly Strategy Dragon Lord, who dominated an era thousands of years ago, was said to have commanded a Demon King.

But even the Dragon Lord only made a newly ascended Demon King submit.

The golden dog before him was definitely not as simple as a newly ascended Demon King.

"My Master does not like to be high-profile."

Suddenly, Big Fuzz spoke.

Master Cosmo and Sia both shivered.

"If you wish to visit my Master, you must not expose his identity. And more importantly, do not ruin his state of mind while he experiences the mortal world."

Master Cosmo nodded profusely.

"Naturally, naturally. Since the Expert is living in seclusion here, he must be experiencing the Red Dust (mortal life). This old man will definitely cooperate."

Sia's thoughts were even more complicated.

She remembered all of Quinn's previous behaviors.

So those were all an act.

He is a true Hidden Expert who just wants to experience mortal life.

Thinking about how she bullied Quinn earlier, Sia wished she could find a crack in the ground to hide in.

Too embarrassing.

Thankfully, he didn't hold it against me.

"You may pass," Big Fuzz said lightly.

"Thank you!"

Master Cosmo bowed again, then led Sia further up the mountain.

After walking for a short while.

They heard a loud, piercing sound tearing through the air.

Boom!

Master Cosmo looked up sharply.

He saw the most shocking scene of his life.

A Azure Dragon soared from the mountain peak, vanishing into the clouds.

"A True Dragon?"

Master Cosmo was horrified, his eyes nearly popping out of his head.
