About a year has passed since Vegapunk established his laboratory in Roulan.
A year's time would normally mean little in this war-torn world; however, the changes in the Land of Wind and the Land of Sea over the past year have left many feeling extremely unfamiliar with them.
The Land of Wind has transformed from a complete desert into a savanna landscape. Various mineral deposits originally buried under the sand have been developed, and as the center of these climatic changes, the Hidden Sand Village is now on the verge of becoming a small city.
On the other hand, the number of Ninjas in the Hidden Sand Village hasn't increased much, but their quality has improved significantly. In the entire Hidden Sand Village, there are no Ninjas weaker than Chunin, and Ninjas with the strength of former Jonin now account for nearly a quarter of all Sand Ninjas.
The changes in the Land of Sea are also significant. The emergence of a large number of modern steel steamships and even warships has made those maritime nations truly inviolable. Even the most powerful Ninja wouldn't want to battle a destroyer at sea.
As for the hidden villages within the country, a large number of animal-ability Ninjas have appeared, each possessing startling strength. Even if they only have animal abilities, they still possess various strange and exotic powers.
For instance, oddities like Electric Eel Ninjas or Mantis Shrimp Ninjas almost immediately secure Jonin-level status upon gaining their animal abilities.
When Vegapunk first started his research, he intentionally separated the technology trees of the two hidden villages. As bustling sounds came from the lab, Vegapunk sat in his chair, watching the helpers he had gathered before him.
Rather than helpers, they were more like modified Shadow Clones. Those currently bustling about adjusting data and conducting experiments were actually a group of metal puppets. In reality, Vegapunk had bypassed artificial intelligence technology and simply sealed his own Shadow Clones into these metal puppets.
Just as a Tailed Beast can influence a Jinchuriki through a seal, the sealing runes Vegapunk specifically designed were so the internal Shadow Clone could control the external metal body. A large number of electronic chips were engraved inside the body for computational assistance, improving the Shadow Clone's performance, while the large amount of stored Chakra inside also extended the Shadow Clone's duration.
Most importantly, even if a Shadow Clone dissipated, their memories wouldn't return instantly. Instead, they would be preserved in the metal puppet's chips for Vegapunk to selectively and slowly read.
In this way, Vegapunk could use Shadow Clones on a large scale to help with his research without worrying about the issue of memory feedback.
In fact, Vegapunk had also thought about advancing research by methods such as cloning himself as lab assistants. However, out of an understanding of his own personality and pride in his own wisdom, he ultimately rejected this idea.
If an ordinary clone could maintain absolute loyalty for ten years, then a clone endowed with his wisdom and inheriting his personality, as Vegapunk imagined, might find a way to rebel in less than three days.
But the Shadow Clone technique of the Naruto World gave Vegapunk the perfect ability to create clones. Shadow Clones possess the same thinking capacity as Vegapunk, yet because they aren't truly complete lifeforms, they cannot rebel against him. After dissipating, they can transmit memories directly to him—they're simply super research assistants!
The Second Hokage, who developed this Ninjutsu, could also be called a genius of Chakra research. Unfortunately, although the various Ninjutsu this research master developed had infinite potential, those who truly utilized these techniques to their limits were his disciples and their successors.
For example, Flying Thunder God for Minato Namikaze, Edo Tensei for Orochimaru and Yakushi Kabuto, Shadow Clone Technique for Uzumaki Naruto... After his thoughts wandered for a moment, Vegapunk quickly snapped back and turned to look at the experiment currently in progress.
It was a joint experiment called the Space Teleportation Array and the Small Personal Space. In fact, it could also be called a single experiment.
The Space Teleportation Array had actually been developed long ago. By converting the Flying Thunder God Array into the form of a seal and then pairing two Flying Thunder God Arrays, one could teleport at will.

However, Vegapunk soon thought of a workaround: coordinate jumping through different spaces. In other words, creating a small special space to act as a transfer station, bypassing the Chakra consumption and the need for powerful sensory perception required for long distances through this method.
