In the room, Sara, with her head of Red Hair, paced back and forth anxiously, her face filled with a hint of confusion and helplessness.
Ever since the destruction of the Kingdom of Loulan, Sara had led her people in migration. However, in the Land of Wind, almost every large oasis was already inhabited, so finding a habitable place was no easy task.
Fortunately, the former Loulan was quite wealthy, and every household had some savings. Additionally, since the Land of Wind was one of the Five Great Nations, the so-called resource scarcity was only relative. Therefore, even through trade and other means, the people of Loulan managed to get by.
Under the arduous trials of this period, Sara had truly developed the aura of a queen. However, just as she felt life was gradually improving, Ninjas from the Hidden Sand suddenly came knocking.
Well aware of the power of Ninjas, Sara did not resist. She simply comforted her people and subordinates before leaving with the Hidden Sand Ninjas.
Yet, upon arriving at the Hidden Sand Village, the queen, who was barely twenty years old, finally showed some trepidation. The Hidden Sand Village's reputation in the Land of Wind wasn't particularly good; a Ninja village was inherently a pure apparatus of violence. If one hadn't posted a mission, being sought out by Ninjas naturally wouldn't lead to anything good.
"Just why... the Hidden Sand Village..." Sara muttered to herself, though in truth, she had a faint inkling of the reason.
Aside from Loulan's Dragon Vein, what else could the Hidden Sand Village want with her? One must remember that the culprit behind Loulan's destruction was that rogue Hidden Sand Puppet Master, Mukade.
Mukade was just an ordinary Puppet Master from the Hidden Sand, yet by using Loulan's Dragon Vein, he could unleash such power. If the Hidden Sand knew the situation, could they really restrain their greed for the Dragon Vein?
Unfortunately, she had no choice... Sara sighed. After all, this was no longer just about her; she carried the responsibility for tens of thousands of Loulan's citizens. With such a massive weakness, she had no power to refuse the Hidden Sand's demands, no matter what.
Just then, the door was pushed open. Hearing the sound, Sara turned her head. Entering was a woman with skin as fair as jade, a curvaceous figure, and a face that was both beautiful and heroic.
Seeing that distinctive hair, transitioning from dark green to orange-yellow, Sara was momentarily stunned and immediately realized the woman's identity: "Lord Kazekage!"
However, it was clear that more than just the Kazekage had entered. Behind Pakura, a Blond Youth followed. He looked at Sara with a burning gaze, sizing her up as if he were looking at something rare and curious.
Sara shifted uncomfortably, her jade-like face gradually turning red. Not only was the Blond Youth's gaze intense and his expression serious, but he was also as handsome as a sun god descended to earth. A single glance from him left Sara feeling dazed.
It had to be said that although she was shy, Sara felt a strange sense of sweetness in her heart. This wasn't one of those ordinary boys from Loulan; such a handsome guy was captivated by her—she must be quite charming.
"Alright, Dr. Vegapunk," Pakura said helplessly, "don't scare the young girl!"
In front of outsiders, Pakura generally called him Dr. Vegapunk directly, rather than using titles like "Lord."
Sara, however, was startled. Dr. Vegapunk? That legendary super scientist?
As Vegapunk brought out one era-transcending invention after another, his fame spread not just through the Ninja villages, but even among ordinary people. However, due to the inherent secrecy of Ninjas, ordinary people had no idea what Vegapunk looked like.
In Sara's eyes, since Vegapunk was called a "Doctor," he should naturally be mature and steady, a traditional image with a white beard and thick glasses. She never expected him to be the Blond Youth before her, who looked to be only about fourteen or fifteen years old.
"After all, she is the key that can control the Dragon Vein's energy, but she doesn't seem to have much Chakra. It seems to be an unknown energy system; quite an unexpected harvest!"
Vegapunk remarked nonchalantly. There was indeed a certain energy within Sara, but it didn't seem to be the same as Chakra.
Of course, besides Chakra, there should be many other forms of energy in this world. It's just that people in the Naruto World tend to call all those energy forms Chakra as well. Most Ninjas would attribute them to Bloodline Limits, unaware that they are actually systems completely different from Chakra.
Chakra has been rooted in this world for nearly a thousand years. Thus, nowadays, as long as something is a form of energy, it's basically called Chakra. However, whether it's the pure Chakra brought by the Ōtsutsuki is hard to say.
This also made Vegapunk's search for other energy systems feel very chaotic. After all, no matter the energy system, by this era, the names have all been changed to Chakra.
However, Vegapunk was certain that this world definitely had its own energy systems in the past. One must realize the entire world is filled with abundant Natural Energy. If the native humans of the Naruto World hadn't mastered energy systems, they could never have competed with those mutated animals.
Many animals, even without Chakra, are large enough to rival Tyrannosaurus Rex or even Godzilla. This is all due to the influence of Natural Energy.
This is even after generations of slaughter since the emergence of Ninjas, which reduced the various mutated animals by over ninety percent. A thousand years ago, if humans didn't have any extraordinary abilities, Vegapunk could hardly imagine how they would have survived in this world.
As for why the extraordinary powers later suffered a generational gap, it's easy to understand. It's likely that when the Ōtsutsuki Clan first arrived to plant the tree, the strongest group of people on this planet had already been dealt with by them. Later, after Ōtsutsuki Kaguya was sealed, the Six Paths Sage spread the ability of Chakra far and wide.
And regardless of its ultimate potential, Chakra could at least quickly form combat power and had few barriers to entry. Its speed of diffusion was very fast, so it naturally and easily crowded out other Extraordinary Systems, causing them to die out.
Often, an Extraordinary System isn't better just because it's stronger; rather, the broader its accessibility and the faster its strength matures, the easier it is to spread.
A thousand years ago, the vast majority of Extraordinary Systems have completely disappeared. Perhaps some have merged into the chakra system, and many strange secret techniques might have evolved from certain Extraordinary Systems.
But to say they have completely died out isn't entirely accurate. There are still some Extraordinary Systems being passed down in niche ways, though they too are called Chakra in name.
