Chapter 43 - Chapter 43: Appearance

"This Kazekage of the Hidden Sand Village is truly a bastard!" Mei Terumī's face darkened as she let out a cold sneer.

As female Ninjas are a disadvantaged group in the Ninja World, there aren't many strong ones to begin with, and those who reach the top are even fewer. As a top-tier female Ninja herself, Mei Terumī naturally felt a sense of shared indignation.

Of course, given their different positions, Mei Terumī wouldn't let these feelings interfere with Kirigakure's plans. At most, she would curse the Fourth Kazekage in her heart for being an idiot with no tolerance for others.

Just then, the conference room door pushed open, and Suikazan Fuguki walked in with three people behind him.

One was Kisame, who had always been by Suikazan Fuguki's side as his guard and confidant. As for the other two, Mei Terumī had seen them before—they were the man and woman who had come to Kirigakure with Suikazan Fuguki originally.

These two were not Kirigakure Ninjas. Some suspected they were subordinates Suikazan Fuguki had recruited outside. However, since Suikazan Fuguki later became the Mizukage, no one bothered to investigate or pursue the identities of these two.

Mei Terumī's gaze swept past Suikazan Fuguki and Kisame, fixing firmly on the Blond Youth. Her face flushed slightly. "What a handsome young man! He's much better than the riffraff in our Ninja village!"

The male Ninjas of Kirigakure were rarely good-looking; they often had mouths full of sharp teeth and cold, bloody auras. Compared to the Blond Youth before her, they were worlds apart.

The Blond Youth was, of course, Vegapunk. This body of his was created using the genes of Cavendish of the White Horse as the primary base, and Cavendish was the number one handsome man in the One Piece World.

Although there were many ugly people in the One Piece World who lowered the average, at the peak of beauty, it actually surpassed this world by a level.

However, Mei Terumī soon felt a prickling killing intent between her brows. She turned her head slightly and saw the tall woman standing beside the handsome Blond Youth staring at her coldly. Even through a mask, a terrifying killing intent radiated from her.

The tall woman's figure was incredibly seductive. Even while wearing a mask, she still exuded a myriad of charms, making Mei Terumī feel like she had met a rival.

Soon, however, Mei Terumī smiled, puffed out her chest, and provocatively licked the corner of her mouth. The masked woman began to tremble, and if the handsome Blond Youth hadn't pulled her back, it looked as if she might have beaten Mei Terumī up on the spot.

The Jonin present didn't react much to these movements; a few Ninjas even showed a hint of disdain.

People from the bloody mist were not like the Ninjas of Konoha who played house. Their personalities were more or less distorted, and most held Mei Terumī's fondness for handsome men in contempt.

It was just that Mei Terumī was too strong in a fight, so they didn't dare to mock her to her face.

Of course, Mei Terumī didn't realize she was actually dancing on a tightrope and had come very close to being beaten to death.

The tall woman wearing the mask was naturally Boa Hancock. If she truly lost her temper, Mei Terumī would be a pile of crushed stones by now. Even if everyone in the Mizukage's office combined their strength, they probably couldn't stop Hancock.

"Alright, our village has a lot going on right now, so I'll keep it short. There are three items on the agenda for this meeting."

"First, let me introduce Dr. Vegapunk. Dr. Vegapunk is a special envoy of the Daimyo of the Land of Water, is related to the Daimyo, and is also the heir to the Land of Sea!"

As soon as these words were spoken, the Ninjas looked at each other. They didn't find it confusing; despite the wars between Ninja villages, it was very normal for the Daimyos of various countries to intermarry. The Land of Water and the Land of Sea even shared a Ninja village, so intermarriage was inevitable. As for his preference for calling himself 'Doctor,' that wasn't an issue either.

However, could those Daimyos really produce such a handsome guy? A group of Ninjas couldn't help but think the Land of Sea Daimyo's hat might be a bit green.

Vegapunk naturally had nothing to do with those Daimyos, but that didn't stop him from using their names. He hadn't been idle during this time; since even Kirigakure was under his control, the Daimyo's palace in the Land of Water was completely defenseless against him.

After a series of procedures, the Daimyo of the Land of Water and several high-ranking officials and nobles were all replaced by Clones. With these people backing him, it was easy to give himself the identities of a special envoy for the Land of Water and the heir to the Land of Sea.

If it weren't for the fact that Kirigakure and the Daimyo's palace had some contact and knew what the heir to the Land of Water looked like, he would have already become the joint heir to both the Land of Water and the Land of Sea.

At the same time, the Ninjas' original attitudes changed slightly. Regardless of anything else, this was one of their financial backers. Ninja villages might fight each other, but they maintained a friendly attitude toward the Daimyos and the nobility.

They had originally thought this Blond Youth might be Fuguki's subordinate, but now it seemed he might be Fuguki's supporter! Otherwise, how could Fuguki have changed so much after a trip to the Land of Sea?

"As for this lady, she is Dr. Vegapunk's guard. You may call her Boa Hancock!"

"Hmph! This queen's name is not something any random cat or dog can call!" Hancock said pointedly as she reached out and removed her mask, her eyes fixed on Mei Terumī.

Although she started with a mass taunt, most of the Kirigakure Ninjas didn't fly into a rage. Instead, they stared at Hancock with infatuated eyes, only snapping out of it after a moment with looks of horror on their faces.

The group's complexions shifted between pale and flushed as the Chakra in their bodies surged violently. A few even had a hint of red at the corners of their mouths—these people had mistaken Hancock's charm for some kind of Genjutsu and were circulating their Chakra to break it!

Unfortunately, all their efforts were in vain, leaving most of the Jonin looking quite embarrassed. Earlier, they had thought Mei Terumī was foolish for being infatuated with a handsome guy, but now they had all collectively lost their composure because of Hancock. It was humiliating to the extreme.

Fortunately, these people all had strong wills. The physical pain caused by the Chakra surge helped them focus their minds. When they looked at Hancock again with preparation, they weren't so easily infatuated.

Mei Terumī, however, did not fall into an infatuated state. Firstly, while Hancock's charm affected both men and women, the influence on women was slightly smaller. Secondly, Mei Terumī's strength was among the best of the Jonin, so her resistance was naturally among the strongest. She was merely shocked by Hancock's beauty and felt no infatuation.
