Chapter 10 - Full Potential Potion

Chapter 10: Full Potential Potion

The Burrow

Ronald Bilius Weasley

[Your Magic Power Scale has reached 100 units, Master Ron. Congratulations, you have now achieved your second awakening.]

-Ding

[One of the Hidden Achievements has been accomplished: Young Genius Phase 1. You have achieved an awakening much earlier than usual, placing your name among the genius wizards.]

[Reward: 100 magic power scale units for each year the awakening is achieved early.]

A hidden achievement!

A notification from Alfred disrupted Ron's focus, forcing him to interrupt his practice and attend to it.

Reaching 100 magic scale power had pleased him, but the subsequent notification about completing a hidden achievement was what truly surprised him.

When Ron examined the achievements section of the system, he saw only a few achievements he could complete before starting Hogwarts, such as First Spell Casting, First Potion Brewing, and First Diagon Alley Visit.

However, without the Workshop, Ron didn't think he could even complete achievements like First Spell Casting and First Potion Brewing before starting Hogwarts.

So, learning that he had completed a hidden achievement truly surprised Ron. And the fact that this achievement added 200 units to the magic power scale only deepened his astonishment.

An extra 200 units meant his magic power scale had tripled.

Ron quickly checked his Status and saw that his magic power scale was indeed 300.

Having a magic power scale of 300 at the age of nine. That alone would be enough to be considered a genius in the wizarding world.

"Alfred, when can I achieve my third awakening?" Ron asked.

The fact that he had completed the hidden achievement: Young Genius Phase 1, told Ron that this quest would have subsequent quests.

[Wizards and witches achieve their third awakening when they reach 1000 units of magic power scale, Master Ronald. This usually happens around the age of 17, and after their third awakening, Magic perceives them as adults.]

"I see. So, what about the first awakening? What are the necessary conditions for that?"

[The first awakening occurs when a magic power scale of 10 units is reached, and wizards and witches usually achieve this at the age of 1. After this time, they may accidentally perform magic.]

"What about squibs? Do the same conditions apply to them?" Ron asked.

Squibs were still a problem in the wizarding world, the cause of which was not understood and for which no solution had been found.

Many of the ancient houses, upon discovering that their children were squibs, generally considered them a source of shame and abandoned them to orphanages in a distant land.

When asked, they would say they had lost them due to dragon pox.

But this only further complicated the wizarding world's population and inheritance of family legacy. After all, the wizarding world already had a low birth rate.

Therefore, Ron wanted to find a solution, if possible.

[In the wizarding world, those called squibs are individuals whose magic power scale is below 10, Master Ronald. Their magical power has stopped developing due to a problem. Therefore, even though they possess magic, they cannot use it.]

"Oh... So, it's not that they don't have magic. It's just that their magic power is too weak to use. Finding a solution might not be too difficult." Ron muttered to himself.

Then Ron focused on his current situation and immediately summoned his real wand, the Pathlighter, from his inventory.

As the Pathlighter appeared in his hand, he realized he could truly feel it for the first time. Before, he felt nothing from it.

But now, the Pathlighter felt like a part of his body.

Without hesitation, Ron began casting spell after spell at the training dummy in front of him.

The dummy, in turn, retaliated as Ron attacked again. And the duel between Ron and the dummy has begun again.

But this duel was unlike the previous ones. With a real wand and a 300-unit magic power scale, his spells were faster, more fluid, and more powerful.

In his previous duels, Ron usually stayed on the defensive, rarely attacking. His goal wasn't to win, but to last as long as possible against the dummy.

He could have asked the Magic Practice Hall to lower the dummy's level, but then he didn't feel like he was improving.

But this time, before five minutes had passed, Ron forced the dummy into defense and finally finished it off with a Reductor Curse.

Apparently, he would need to upgrade the dummy's level in his next training session.

"So, this is what it feels like to have 300 units of magic power scale, huh?" Ron said.

The power of the spells he had just cast in the duel couldn't even compare to the power of the spells he had cast with his training wand.

And the performance of the Pathlighter was beyond his expectations. Ron could feel that it was currently doubling the power of his spells.

Furthermore, the fact that it was choosing the most suitable core for each spell unleashed his spells' full potential.

"Full potential!"

Ron suddenly remembered an achievement he hadn't been able to complete before because he didn't have a real wand: First Potion Brewing.

According to the description, the reward for this achievement was a potion called the Full Potential Potion, which corrected bodily imperfections and allowed the body to reach its full potential.

Ron had wanted to get his hands on that potion ever since he first saw the reward, but since he didn't have a wand yet, making a real potion was impossible.

After all, although wands weren't generally required for potion making, each potion still needed a wizard or witch's wand for the final touch.

Otherwise, even Muggles could make potions if they got their hands on the materials, but unfortunately, that wasn't possible.

And for Ron to complete this achievement, he needed to make a real potion with real materials.

The system wouldn't accept creating a virtual potion using virtual materials in the Workshop.

But now there were no obstacles in Ron's way.

Therefore, Ron decided to dedicate the rest of his time to practicing potions.

There were still three and a half hours until breakfast, and this approximately two-week period was enough for him to complete his achievement and bring his potion mastery to a certain level.

Initially, Ron didn't plan to move on to another area until he had mastered all the spells for the entire curriculum of Hogwarts. But, after receiving 200 units of magic power scale with the hidden achievement, he decided there was no need to rush anymore.

Now he could relax a little and focus on other areas.

Ron quickly left the magic practice room and went to the potion workshop.

And as soon as he stepped inside, an information panel appeared in front of him.

[Potion Workshop]

[This workshop can virtually provide all the tools and materials necessary for potion making. It increases learning speed, comprehension, focus, and inspiration during potion making.]

[Potions made with real materials can be brought out into the real world.]

Like the magic practice hall, the potion workshop also facilitated practice and learning in many ways.

Ron already had potion-making tools and materials in his inventory thanks to the Hogwarts educational materials he obtained from the system starter pack.

But instead of using those materials, Ron asked the workshop to create virtual tools and materials for him. He wanted to practice before making a real potion.

The potion he chose was Cure for Boils, the first potion taught at Hogwarts.

Ron quickly got to work, but the process was much easier than he expected. He even gained inspiration for many areas he could improve while making the potion.

But instead of focusing on those, Ron concentrated on making the potion normally.

After a while, pink smoke emitted from the potion, and the potion turned blue, indicating that Ron had completed it.

Although he saw that the potion was successfully completed, Ron wasn't very satisfied with his performance.

Even though he knew all the information about potions, his movements weren't perfectly coordinated in many places because it was his first time making a potion.

So, Ron requested new materials from the workshop and began making the potion again, and only after making it two more times was he satisfied with his performance.

Then Ron summoned the real ingredients from his inventory and began making the real potion.

Unlike the materials, he didn't need to bring tools like a cauldron from his inventory. For the potion to be a real potion, only the ingredients had to be real.

Therefore, Ron could use the virtual tools in the workshop as he wished.

It didn't take long for Ron to complete the real potion, and shortly after, the potion in the cauldron turned blue and emitted pink smoke, and Ron heard a notification sound and Alfred's voice.

-Ding

[Congratulations, Master Ronald. You have completed an Achievement: First Potion Brewing.]

[You can claim your reward by going to the Achievements feature and clicking on the achievement card you've completed.]

Ron went to the Achievements section, clicked on the completed achievement card, and claimed his reward.

Then, with a thought, he summoned the potion from his inventory and began examining its information.

[Full Potential Potion]

[A potion that eliminates flaws in the body of the person who drinks it, allowing them to reach their full potential.]

The potion's description was shorter than he expected, but Ron didn't think a system reward with this name would disappoint him.

"Alfred, do I need to drink the potion here or after I wake up?" Ron asked. He didn't want this unique potion to go to waste.

[You can drink it wherever you like, Master Ronald.]

"This potion won't have any strange side effects, will it? Like transforming into another race or losing human emotions?"

[You can be sure that such serious effects will be mentioned in the item description, Master Ronald.]

Ron had no intention of questioning further and quickly opened the potion bottle and drank it all at once. Contrary to his expectations, the potion tasted like water instead of being bitter.

If he had obtained this potion from someone else instead of the system, he would have thought he had been cheated.

After drinking the potion, Ron waited, but no matter how long he waited, nothing happened.

"Alfred, how long does it take for the potion to take effect?"

[Master Ronald, since your body is still in its growth phase, many of the potion's effects will manifest as your body develops. However, your magical talent is currently advanced.]

"Magical talent? But I can't say I feel anything."

[Comparing it to previous data, you can now obtain 1 unit of magic power scale after two days of practice, instead of three.]

"Oh... So, my magic power scale development rate has increased. Not bad. But is that all?"

[The Full Potential Potion eliminates biological and other defects in your body that have developed over time, while making dormant genes dominant that it deems beneficial. Because your body is still developing, the effects will be seen over time.]

"Hmm... What kinds of effects exactly are we talking about, Alfred?"

[A stronger, faster, more agile body. Stronger senses. A sharper and faster-working brain. A more attractive appearance. A body with greater potential for development. These are the changes that will generally manifest themselves, Master Ronald.]

"It's good that the effects are becoming apparent over time. Otherwise, if my appearance changed suddenly, I wouldn't know what to tell my family. Anyway, it's time to continue practicing."

Ron then resumed working on potion making. He wanted to bring his potion-brewing skills to the O.W.L.s level.

He wanted to learn everything he needed to, as quickly as possible, so that he could craft his first item.

To this end, Ron spent the next three days improving himself in the Library and Workshop, except for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and playing a little with Ginny.

He dedicated approximately 20 hours a day to self-improvement, spending nearly 6000 hours, or 250 days, within the system space.

If he had spent all that time on magic practice, Ron could have obtained 125 magic power scale units, but he chose to allocate his time to other areas.

He usually spent half his time practicing magic and dueling, and the other half reading the curricula of other schools and studying subjects such as potion-making, herbology, ancient runes, arithmancy, astronomy, etc.

After about eight and a half months of intense study in the system space, Ron had finished the entire curriculum of the three schools and the basic crafting books he had, and had mastered the practical areas as much as he could.

In addition, his magic power scale had increased by 71 units, reaching 371.

Except for his low magic power scale, Ron, at nine years old, now possessed the knowledge and experience of a Hogwarts graduate.

And now Ron was descending the stairs to go down for breakfast on Saturday morning, but this day would be different for him.

Ron felt he should now dedicate himself to crafting, but first, he needed to convince his family that he was a genius.

Otherwise, they wouldn't allow him to sell the items he made and eventually open his own shop.

But Ron had already made his plan, and the first stage would take place at this breakfast.
