For the first time in what felt like forever, I slept without dreaming. I didn't have stranger visions either. When I finally opened my eyes, golden sunlight spilled through my window, warming the blankets wrapped around me.
I blinked in surprise. I couldn't remember the last time I'd slept this late. Perhaps crying in Hades' office had exhausted me more than I'd realised. The thought made heat creep into my cheeks.I buried my face in the pillow for a brief moment.
"I actually cried" I muttered to myself.
Not only had I cried...I had cried in front of Hades. Somehow, instead of feeling embarrassed, the memory of his arms around me made something warm settle inside my chest. The knock on my door startled me from my thoughts. Three gentle taps.
I frowned. Carina usually walked straight in.
"Come in."
