"I'm going to rip that bastard apart and that damned Alpha King too. The audacity of that old fool, sending men after my sister just because she's Gerard's mate… I'll burn him alive for this." Dominique's voice came out low and vicious, fury radiating off him.
"Gerard's plan didn't work. They never believed he truly hated you," he added through clenched teeth.
"C–calm down," Charlotte stammered, her eyes fixed on him as his restraint slipped further.
"Oh, I haven't even begun," he growled, shifting gears hard. His hand slammed the turbo, and the car surged forward, shooting past a gas station in a blur.
They had put some distance between themselves and the danger, but not enough the truck still trailed them, inching closer with relentless intent.
"D… Damien?" Charlotte's voice trembled.
"He's fucking late," Dominique snapped, his gaze darting to the woods lining the highway. A pack of wolves burst through the trees, racing alongside the road.
