Her mother looked at her, "Your Father will not see you." She said, "No matter where Kaito is."

Maki leaned forwards, "Don't stop now." She said, "Tell me what happened."
There was a serious look on her face, something that unsettled her own mother.
"Ogi...." Her mother gulped, "Ogi began to rant about you girls, as usual. During that time, it wasn't just him, but the other members of the clan. They kept comparing you two to Kaito, which wasn't a surprise."
"That's the usual." Maki said seriously
"Right." Her mother nodded, "I was sick of it, so I defended the two of you. I told Ogi to stop cursing the two of you for once in his life. He was enraged, so much so that he struck me."

Maki's face went slightly pale, "Y-You don't mean....." She said, "The scar on Kaito's face...!!!"

"The whole clan witnessed this." She continued, "Naoya-chan was enraged, to nobody's surprise. She wanted to murder Ogi, it was in her eyes. Her brothers held her back as Jinichi and Naobito stopped Ogi from doing anything rash. Your Father stormed away, leaving Kaito standing there, with blood covering his face."
"W-Why.....?" Maki said softly, "Why didn't Kaito fight back?! He is more formidable than Father! H-He could've prevented such a thing from happening, that humiliation."
"Your brother could not." her mother said
"What do you mean?!" Maki said, "What are you talking about?!"
"B-Binding Vow...." Her mother looked at her, tears in her eyes

"Kaito and Ogi had a Binding Vow in place." she said softly, "It was started long ago."
"What...what are you saying?" Maki said
"Kaito's Vow was that so long as he kept training to the point where he becomes a formidable Grade 1 Sorcerer, capable of taking on Special Grade Curses by his lonesome, Ogi would never lay a finger on you and Mai." Her mother said, "In exchange, Ogi would be able to strike and cut him as much as he wanted and he would never defend himself.....!!"
Maki stood up in such a manner that the table in front of them was knocked over, an enraged look on her face.

"Since the two of you were girls." Her mother was looking down

"The Vow was honored." Her Mother continued, "Kaito is a Special Grade 1, capable of fighting a Special Grade Curse by his lonesome. He saved you from that Disaster Curse, did he not? That means that he is no longer in that Binding Vow. It was complete."
"A-And.....?" Maki asked
"It means....." She said softly,
"That he could fight back....and so he did."

Kaito was walking back to his and Naoya's hotel room, "Hm...." He said as he looked around, "That girl, Miwa.....did she sneak away? I did not see her down there?"
He reached the door and opened it, walking in and hearing muffled moans. This alerted him, causing him to shut the door and locking it.
