Taking swift control of the situation, Piccolo brought both Pan and the unconscious soldier onto a Red Ribbon Army transport plane. On the way back to the base, Piccolo quietly explained the entire situation to Pan, instructing her to pretend to be completely terrified. Finding the ruse highly amusing, Pan eagerly agreed to play along.
Back at the base, Magenta recorded a video of the supposedly captured Pan, then dispatched his men alongside Piccolo to confront Gohan. The two arrived at Gohan's residence and presented the video. However, Piccolo felt a wave of dissatisfaction; Pan had recognized him instantly, yet Gohan failed to see through his disguise.
This stark contrast proved that Gohan's warrior instincts had severely regressed. Believing his daughter was in grave danger, a desperate Gohan followed them back to the Red Ribbon Army headquarters, where he encountered Gamma 1 and Gamma 2. Gamma 1 immediately engaged him, and because Gohan had neglected his training for so long, he initially found himself completely overwhelmed and at a disadvantage.
To reignite Gohan's dormant fighting spirit, Piccolo devised an extreme measure. He deliberately stepped forward and pretended to attack Pan, provoking Gohan to unleash his hidden power. The tactical gamble succeeded perfectly; seeing his daughter in jeopardy, Gohan's rage boiled over, and he successfully tapped back into his Mystic form.
The omniscient narrator observed the scene, noting that Gohan was completely played by his godfather Piccolo and his own daughter Pan. The commentary highlighted why Piccolo went to such lengths—orchestrating the kidnapping, luring Gohan out, and concealing the truth—all because he desperately wanted Gohan to rekindle his warrior soul, proving that the old Namekian truly worried himself sick over Gohan's potential. Furthermore, the narrator made it clear that Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 were not inherently evil, but had simply been deceived by the Red Ribbon Army, a revelation that made countless viewers across the dimensions nod in agreement.
In the One Piece universe, Monkey D. Luffy's grandfather Garp expressed deep empathy, noting that Piccolo really worried himself sick for Gohan. Back on the battlefield, Gohan's ascension to his Mystic state allowed him to completely reclaim the upper hand against Gamma 1. Seeing his partner struggle, Gamma 2 attempted to intervene but was intercepted by Piccolo. Having recently had his latent potential unlocked, Piccolo's Ki had increased significantly; though he previously could not match Gamma 2, he was now fully capable of contending with the powerful Android.
During the clash, Gamma 2 and Dr. Hedo began to realize they had been manipulated. They recognized that Gohan and Piccolo, whom Magenta had labeled as an evil organization, were actually protectors of peace, and that Magenta himself was the true villain.
Realizing his deception had been exposed, Magenta fled deeper into the facility with Hedo hot on his heels. With the truth revealed, Piccolo and Gamma 2 halted their battle, and Piccolo signaled for Gohan and Gamma 1 to cease fighting as well.
Moments later, a capsule aircraft landed as Bulma arrived with reinforcement warriors, including Goten, Trunks, Krillin, and Android 18. Goten and Trunks had grown so significantly since their last encounter that Piccolo barely recognized them.
Meanwhile, deep within the subterranean levels of the base, Magenta attempted to prematurely activate his ultimate weapon, Cell Max. Hedo tried to stop him but failed to prevent the activation sequence, though Hedo's automated killer bee drone successfully executed Magenta to end his ambitions.
Realizing the catastrophic danger, Hedo frantically signaled Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 to prepare for the worst. The ground began to tremor violently before completely collapsing, revealing a colossal, terrifying entity rising from the depths. It was Cell Max, whose physical appearance heavily mirrored Cell's imperfect Second Form.
The sight of the behemoth surprised viewers across the Wanjie Multiverse. Zhang Chulan marveled at the sheer scale of Cell Max compared to the original Cell, while Duanmu Yan called the second-form aesthetic rather ugly, noting that Perfect Cell possessed a much cooler design.
While the audience associated the appearance with an incomplete state, it reflected the original creative vision of the legendary Toriyama-sensei, who favored the Second Form's design.
Marine Admiral Sengoku observed the giant beast, noting that while raw physical size does not automatically equate to combat efficiency, the immense pressure of Cell Max's Ki indicated an incredibly dangerous adversary.
