Gowasu initially hesitated to accept Son Goku's proposal. Although he was deeply curious about how a mere mortal could accompany the God of Destruction, Lord Beerus, his perspective remained rigid. In his eyes, Goku was just a human, while Zamasu was the most formidable Supreme Kai candidate in Universe 10. Gowasu was certain that in a clash of power, the divine Zamasu would easily overwhelm the mortal.
However, Beerus interjected, noting that Goku's strength was exceptionalâeven admitting the Saiyan had fought against him. These words sent a shockwave through both Zamasu and Gowasu. A mortal capable of exchanging blows with a God of Destruction was a concept that defied their understanding of the celestial hierarchy.
Ultimately, the duel commenced. Zamasu truly lived up to his reputation as a combat prodigy, displaying the refined technique of a high-ranking god. Yet, despite his divine prowess, he could not suppress the Saiyan. He eventually forced Goku to ignite his golden aura and ascend to Super Saiyan 2 to secure the victory.
While Goku offered a friendly compliment, noting that Zamasu was indeed powerful, the Kai felt only a burning sting of disgrace. To a dignified god, losing to a mortal was a profound humiliation. More importantly, he was haunted by a single question: why did a human possess such immense, god-defying power? This encounter planted a dark seed of obsession within Zamasu's heart.
Sengoku: I see. It's clear now. Fighting Son Goku made Zamasu realize just how much potential that Saiyan body holds. That's exactly why he'll eventually try to steal it.
Uzumaki Naruto: So, you're saying the birth of Goku Black was actually caused by Goku himself, even if he didn't mean to?
Kurosaki Ichigo: That seems like a fair assessment. If Goku hadn't pushed for that fight, Zamasu might never have fixed his gaze on him. He wouldn't have become obsessed with possessing that power to become Goku Black.
Akira: I remember back in the Android Saga footage, Goku mentioned that he shouldn't be revived because his presence seems to attract every major threat to Earth. It looks like his tactical intuition was right on the money!
The viewers across the multiverse nodded in somber agreement. While Zamasu was the villain, Goku's insatiable thirst for battle had provided the catalyst. By seeking out a fight just to test his limits, he had inadvertently handed Zamasu the blueprint for a multiversal crisis.
Krillin: @Son Goku, please, promise me you'll drop this habit of looking for fights with strangers. Otherwise, who knows what kind of monsters you'll attract next?
Yamcha: He's right, Goku. You've got to start showing some restraint for the sake of the planet.
Tien Shinhan: If you're that desperate for a workout, stick to sparring with Vegeta or Lord Beerus. Stop bothering people we don't know!
The Z Fighters felt a collective sense of helplessness. Goku's love for martial arts wasn't malicious, but the Ki signatures he stirred up tended to act as a beacon for disaster. They couldn't keep relying on the Dragon Balls to clean up the collateral damage; if a crisis could be avoided through simple caution, it was their responsibility to do so.
Son Goku: Huh? But isn't fighting strong people the most exciting thing in the world?
Krillin: Not when it risks ending the world, Goku! One wrong move and Earth pays the price.
Son Goku: Is that how it is? Alright, I'll try to be more careful from now on.
Whether the Saiyan would actually keep that promise remained a mystery. Back in the video, after departing Universe 10, Goku felt that Zamasu seemed like a decent guy who had nothing to do with Goku Black. Beerus and Whis, however, sensed a lingering darkness, though they lacked the evidence to act.
Upon returning to Universe 7, they waited for Bulma to finish the repairs on the Time Machine. During this lull, an event occurred that made even the stoic Beerus tremble with fear. An entity of supreme authority requested an audience with Son Goku: Zeno, the Omni-King.
The narrator's voice resonated across the dimensions, explaining that Zeno was the absolute peak of the Dragon Ball multiverse, an existence far above any God of Destruction or Angel.
He had first noticed Goku during the tournament between Universe 6 and Universe 7 and found the Saiyan's informal nature fascinating. For those unfamiliar with the hierarchy, this was merely a shocking revelation of a higher power.
But for the Gods of Destruction, the news was terrifying. The fact that Lord Zeno would actively seek out a mortal was an unprecedented honorâand a potential disaster. Even the Angels and the Grand Priest were surprised that a human could pique the interest of the supreme ruler.
In the current timeline at Zeno's Palace, the small deity watched the screen with excitement. "I want to see Son Goku too!" Zeno exclaimed, mimicking his onscreen counterpart. Having watched the footage of Goku's incredible transformations and battles, his curiosity had reached its peak.
However, rather than summoning Goku to his palace, Zeno decided on a whim to visit Earth instead. The videos had shown him that Earth was a vibrant place full of interesting things. For a being who spent eternity in a silent palace, the prospect of visiting Goku's home was irresistible.
"Grand Priest, let's go to Earth!" Zeno announced. As the supreme butler and advisor, the Grand Priest bowed in agreement. He, too, was curious about the Saiyan who had managed to charm the King of All.
Thus, as Vegeta and Beerus made their way back, two even more powerful entities began their journey toward the small blue planet. Even Frieza, who had been plotting a return to Earth, abandoned his plans the moment he realized Beerus and Zeno were involved. When these titans finally gather on Earth, the world will never be the same.
