Chapter 27 - Chapter 27 Getting Beaten Up Alongside Qian Renxue.

Chapter 27 Getting Beaten Up Alongside Qian Renxue.

"Make me proud? Do I need you to make me proud?!"

Bibi Dong tightened her grip, causing Qian Renxue to cough involuntarily.

Seeing this, Jiang Nian reluctantly decided to take the beating for her.

"Teacher, Xiaoxue always looks up to you, constantly trying to prove herself to you."

"So..."

Bibi Dong's anger flared when she saw him pleading for Qian Renxue.

"Do you need to tell me?!"

"Jiang Nian, it seems I've been too neglectful of you lately."

With that, she kicked him in the butt, applying a little force.

Bang!

Jiang Nian shot out like a cannonball, Qian Renxue following closely behind.

Thud!

The little golden retriever crashed heavily onto him.

"Hmm? Doesn't it hurt?"

Qian Renxue touched her body, instantly realizing that her mother still cared about her, but she remained stubborn.

Hmm!

"It must be... Xiao... Xiaoxue, get up quickly..."

"I feel like I'm dying..."

Jiang Nian shakily reached out his hand, on the verge of tears.

Please, Miss, why are you sitting on me like this?

Qian Renxue's pretty face flushed red, and she quickly got up, covering her mouth.

"I... I'm sorry..."

"Xiao Jiang, are you alright?"

Jiang Nian's lips twitched. Did he look alright?

Was he the one cushioning her feet?

The little golden retriever grabbed his arm, its fair face flushed crimson. At first, he really thought Mommy was being lenient.

Turns out, someone else had taken all the blame for her.

Thinking of this, a pang of guilt rose in his heart.

Because of him, Jiang Nian always got beaten.

It was truly pitiful for him...

"Phew, that was a really hard kick."

Jiang Nian felt a little uneasy and rubbed his bottom, glancing back at her.

After resting for a while, he walked up the steps with Qian Renxue's help.

"Xiaoxue, how many years of soul rings did you say you absorbed?" Jiang Nian started the conversation, then noticed a glint of tears in her eyes and subconsciously beckoned with his index finger.

The little golden retriever was startled, seemingly not expecting him to do that, its eyes darting away and its eyelashes fluttering wildly.

"Four...four thousand years."

Jiang Nian feigned surprise and exclaimed, his finger unconsciously retracting: "As expected of Xiaoxue, there's probably no one on the entire continent who can surpass you in talent."

"Given time, you'll definitely become the youngest Title Douluo on the entire continent."

Hearing his praise, her previously dejected and sad heart instantly brightened, the previous dejection vanishing in an instant.

"Hehe~ That's a must!"

Qian Renxue crossed her arms and proudly raised her neck: "Little Jiang, I'll become the Pope!"

"And you, you'll be my right-hand man! We'll conquer the world together."

Jiang Nian shook his head, and the little golden retriever immediately objected.

"What? You dare disagree?!"

She puffed out her cheeks and glared at Jiang Nian, as if to say, "You have to give me a reason!"

"I'm going to be the Pope's man, you're still a bit short."

Qian Renxue shook her head like a rattle-drum: "No way! You can only be below me!"

Jiang Nian stroked his chin, considering the feasibility of this statement.

"Forget it, let's not talk about that anymore."

The little golden retriever pouted and silently looked at the setting sun in the distance.

She didn't seem so sad anymore.

She glanced at Jiang Nian, who was still thinking beside her. The setting sun shone on his handsome profile, and the easygoing look in his eyes was very comforting.

"Why didn't I realize before that this guy is so handsome..." the blond-haired boy muttered to himself, then looked at his slightly dirty face.

It was from when he stood up for him earlier.

After hesitating for a few seconds, she said in a spoiled tone, "Xiao Jiang! Turn around!"

"Huh?" Jiang Nian turned his head in confusion, then saw the little golden retriever holding a handkerchief, carefully wiping his face.

His little hands were trembling. He was clearly nervous, but he was really putting on a good act.

But, did no one really see it? ... "

Xiao Nian, this is the ruler that has been with you for two years, and this is the willow branch that has been with you for three months."

"And this is the new spiked club I bought."

"You pick one."

Bibi Dong looked at Jiang Nian outside the door with a half-smile, and slowly walked up to him in her high heels.

She reached out and pinched the little guy's chin as usual.

"Don't blame the teacher, as the saying goes, a strict teacher produces outstanding students."

"Spare the rod and spoil the child."

"It'll be quick."

Jiang Nian forced a smile that was more like a grimace and silently turned around.

However, the punishment he had imagined did not begin, which made him feel a little uncomfortable.

Curious, he turned his head back, and Jiang Nian's head was embraced by a jade hand.

"Xiao Nian, do you think your teacher is harsh?"

Bibi Dong's voice softened as she pulled him into her arms, gently stroking his small head.

Jiang Nian's mouth reached just to his lower abdomen, and he seemed to smell a metallic scent.

And... what did that tone mean?

Could it be his last meal before execution?

Jiang Nian's palms sweated, but he forced himself to remain calm and said, "Teacher did all this for me, I understand your good intentions."

"In the future, I will definitely... repay my teacher."

Bibi Dong smiled gently, lifting his chin and staring intently into his eyes, which were like twinkling stars: "Really?"

Jiang Nian nodded seriously: "Yes! A teacher for a day is a father for life."

Bibi Dong teased with a smile: "Then you should call me Mommy."

Jiang Nian: "..."

After a few quiet seconds, Bibi Dong released Jiang Nian, her aura returning to its former icy demeanor.

"I'm worried you'll go astray, especially since you're so young and immature."

"You're easily fooled and deceived."

"This world isn't as good as you imagine…"

She finished speaking, a hint of weariness flashing in her eyes.

"Alright, you can leave now."

"I need to rest."

Jiang Nian quickly excused himself; if he stayed any longer, the boss would probably advance to the second stage.

"Goodnight, teacher."

A short while later, only Bibi Dong remained, half-sitting on the bed, her emotions fluctuating.

Autumn winds blew outside the window, and light snow fell.

After a few minutes of blank staring, her gaze fell on the books on the desk, books that hadn't been opened for two or three months.

Her thoughts drifted back to ten years ago, and her fingers clenched involuntarily.

If that incident hadn't happened, would she have met this fate?

What was it, and why…?

Back in the room, Jiang Nian looked up at the ceiling, somewhat surprised that he hadn't been beaten today.

He couldn't be bothered to guess Bibi Dong's thoughts, nor could he fathom them.

That hug just now almost made me faint; I thought I was about to die.

He's only eight years old, and he's already under so much pressure.

He's practically a pressure-resistant genius.

"I should try to let Xiaoxue come less often in the future, otherwise my little body can't handle it..."
