Chapter 17: The Trap of Shadows
Diari and Rina stood beneath the house where the masked man had disappeared. Diari pulled out his mother's will and handed it to Rina.
When Truths Become Weapons
Rina said, "Kaka Diari, you said you would explain what you were talking about."
Diari replied, "Rina soul, look at me, stay calm. My mother left a will for us; this has made the mystery of the photo even deeper. Rina soul, please just stay calm, I am with you. Here is the will."
Rina read the will. As soon as she reached the part about her father, tears fell from her green eyes. Crying, she told Kaka Diari, "So, my father wasn't a monster; he was a victim of the magic of Liva's mother."
Diari was very sad, forcing himself not to cry for Rina's sake. He held Rina tightly in his arms. Rina cried a lot for her father. Kaka Diari comforted her, "Rina soul, please stay calm, okay my life? I am with you, I won't let anything happen, okay?"
Rina listened to Kaka Diari's words. She felt her burden had become lighter, but a hatred grew in her heart toward Liva's mother. Rina said to Kaka Diari, "I swear, Liva's mother must pay for all those years."
Journey into the Heart of Danger
They were near the house; it was right next to them, just like the one in the secret photo. In a corner of the house, Rina found a photo of her mother. It was very scary, with a mark of magic on it. Rina fainted from fear. Kaka Diari quickly ran to her. "Rina, wake up! You must be strong, I told you to get up!"
After a while, Rina regained consciousness. Kaka Diari said, "Look at that! They were here; Liva's mother has left her mark here."
Conflict with the Shadows
Suddenly, a black mist covered the area. A hoarse, terrifying voice shouted from between the walls: "Go back! Death awaits you."
Rina was very scared. Kaka Diari held Rina's hand tightly. "Rina soul, I am with you. Don't be afraid of anything, I'm here. That's enough!"
Diari stood like a great protector behind Rina. "Don't hide, cruel witch! Show yourself!"
Liva's Trick: The Real Face
Amidst the mist and darkness, Liva appeared. At first, she showed herself as an angel. With a voice full of crying, she said, "No, don't be afraid. I am with you. I will stop my mother. Please be calm, I will save you from my mother's hands."
Kaka Diari said, "Rina soul, Liva is lying! Come here, don't listen to her!"
But Rina was under a spell; she moved closer to Liva. Kaka Diari shouted, "Rinaaa! What are you doing? Come back, I said!"
But as Rina got closer, Liva gave a satanic smile. Suddenly, Liva raised her hand and sent a spell toward Rina.
"Did you really believe me?" Liva said with a laugh. "Hahaha! Do you, with your small minds, think I would turn against my mother? I am my mother's daughter. Now you are in the trap!"
It turned out Liva had only come to kill time and pull them deeper into the magic.
The Power of Faith and the End of Magic
The mist became thicker. Liva and her mother vanished. Rina closed her eyes and began reciting the Surahs of the Holy Quran that she had memorized. With every Ayah she read, the black mist faded more and more until it was gone. Diari held Rina's hand and said, "Keep going, Rina!"
Rina read Surah Al-Falaq. The mist completely cleared. Liva and her mother watched from a distance with anger because the magic failed to defeat or break them.
Diari looked at Rina and said, "Now you know Liva is an enemy too. Are you ready?"
Rina replied, "To save my father and destroy Liva's mother and her deceptive daughter, I will do everything."
