Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 Magic Wand

Lunar leads Solar to a bench under a huge Douglas fir.

Lunar: Have a seat.

Solar: Yes, Miss Tudor.

Lunar: I can hear the sounds around this forest. I heard you grumbled about marriage. May I ask what's your tale of woe?

Solar: I beg your pardon, Miss Tudor.

Lunar: Someone comes in the forbidden forest, he must have a tale of woe.

Solar: I don't think I have any tales of woe. I was born in a wealthy family, and spoiled by my great parents. What they have offered me is more than what I can speak. It's not just material needs and supports, but also it's kindness, friendliness and love that guide me to inherit my family's spirits.

Lunar: If you were so satisfied with your circumstance. Why did you embark to escape from your family and hide in the forbidden forest then?

Solar: May I tell you a story?

Lunar: You may.

Solar: In Portland of Oregon, there's a babbling brook between two huge plantations. The east side of stream where lays a hot spring hotel with a rose garden, it's belonged to Rose family. The west side of stream where lays a windmill with a tulip garden, it's belonged to Tulip family. Rose family possesses the best rose plantation in town, and Tulip family possesses the best tulip garden. Thus, both families purpose grouping an alliance to develop this town's tourism industry, by making an arranged marriage for the heir and the heiress of both families.

Lunar: You don't agree with their arranged marriage, right?

Solar: How could I marry the woman that I barely know? I don't even know her name. But both families seem have made an agreement. So I have to escape from my family and hide in the forbidden forest.

Lunar: No tale of woe?

Solar: Yes, Miss Tudor.

Solar blushes out of shyness, because he did have a tale of woe.

Lunar: I appreciate your spirit of teenage rebellion, for you refuse to marry that woman against your family's will. I appreciate your adventurer's spirit more, for you dare come in the forbidden forest alone. I appreciate your bravery most, for you dare learn the knowledge of magic from the queen of vampires.

Solar: I'm flattered. I refuse to marry that woman against my family's will, because I'm too selfish to sacrifice my personal affection for my family's benefits. I dare come in the forbidden forest, because I have nowhere to go. I dare learn the knowledge of magic from you, because I have no contacts in the world of magic.

Lunar: I appreciate you, but still I dislike your dog's smell.

Solar sniffs his hand, but barely smells any dog's smell.

Solar: You say that someone comes in the forbidden forest, he must have a tale of woe. You are in the forbidden forest. May I humbly ask what's your tale of woe?

Lunar: Don't you dare ask me any questions again. I will give you a lesson that you can't forget for the rest of your life. I am the one who ask questions. Do you understand?

Solar: Yes, Miss Tudor.

Lunar: Once upon a time, there's two powerful empires in the world, the Fire Empire and the Ice Empire. Both empires had established many overseas colonies, and had been fighting over one hundred years for territories. Ice Queen and Fire King purposed making a peace agreement, by making an arranged marriage for Ice Queen's younger sister and Fire King's younger brother. When Ice Queen's younger sister heard that she's going to marry Fire King's younger brother, a totally stranger. She escapes from the capital, and begins an adventurous journey in the world of magic.

Solar: It's a brilliant ending.

Lunar: It's an unexpected ending. Both empires continued fighting for territories, when the political arranged marriage was broken. Ice Queen's younger sister was wanted, and caught by Fire Empire's soldiers. She drank a bottle of poison, before she was taken by those soldiers. It turned out that bottle of poison was a bottle of vampire's venom that transformed her into a new-born vampire with extremely strong power.

Solar: If a bottle of vampire's venom could transform one into a new-born vampire with extremely strong power. Why don't you just transform me into a new-born vampire?

Lunar: No vampires are allowed to get out of this dog's cage. If I transformed you into a new-born vampire, I will have no chance to get out of here. Besides, you would rather marry that British woman than become a vampire.

Solar: Vampires, they are much more powerful, they have a variety of superpowers, and they have an immortal life. I don't think who can refuse to become one of them.

Lunar: Death is a part of nature. I would rather spend one lifetime with someone I love than watch through all ages of this world alone.

Solar: I couldn't agree more.

Lunar: Do you know why I take you here?

Solar: Have a chat?

Lunar: I take you here, because this is a Douglas fir, which is often adopted to craft magic wands. To be a wizard, you're gonna need a magic wand first. Climb up the fir, and try to pick up a branch.

Solar: Yes, Miss Tudor.

Solar climbs up the huge Douglas fir like a monkey, selects a branch that he thinks fit, and climbs down to hand the branch to Lunar.

Lunar: I privilege you a drop of the queen's blood to be the core of your magic wand. With the magic wand, you can do magic, when you chant magic spells.

Lunar bites her fingertip to bleed, and drops a drop of the queen's blood on the branch.

With the queen's blood as its core, the fir branch becomes a magic wand.

Solar: Thank you, Miss Tudor, for offering me my first magic wand.

Lunar: This magic wand is a valuable ticket to the world of magic. It's a beautiful future in your hand. Don't destroy it. Protect it, embrace it. Believe me, you're gonna be proud of that one day. I promise you.
