Chapter 6 - Reunited with Benson

Wei Gao sat on the side of the street, his clothes somewhat torn. Just being dragged along the street had already caused him to lose all his former dignity in the Starry Sky. Mr. Z used the cruelest method to protect him Mr. Z directly abandoned all the Aurora Society members in the Tingen region, using a massive explosion to let the entire Aurora Society see the Lord they revered.

It's lamentable that a farce of believers sacrificing themselves for the Lord has come to an end. But from the perspective of those looking down from a higher dimension, it was quite a performance.

As the ramblings in his mind gradually faded, the higher dimension's lips curled into a smile. He had successfully "contaminated" the true creator, but this uncontrolled contamination was a great gift to the true creator. The true creator's madness stemmed from the significant reduction of the anchors and the absence of divine balance within his body, which contained only mad, corrupt humanity. The higher dimension's contamination caused the true creator to divert a portion of his mad, instinctive humanity to fight against it, while the remainder became slightly more peaceful, making the true creator less insane.

Unable to determine the specific identity of the higher dimension, the true creator made a decision subconsciously. As the most humane god (meaning devoid of any divinity), the true creator still retained the human instinct of a drowning person clinging to grass for survival. The higher dimension that could become the true creator's lifeline was one whom He recognized as His chosen one, attempting to preserve His hope of sanity through His believer.

Wei Gao watched as Mr. Z hurriedly ran away, pursued by a dozen bolts of lightning and spirits. After all, Mr. Z had dutifully followed God's command, perfectly concealing Wei Gao identity. Could a member of the Abraham family, who had a blood feud with the Aurora Society and was just passing by their meeting place, possibly become a chosen one of the true Creator? Impossible. Even Adam wouldn't dare to make such a claim. After all, the Outer Gods hadn't been able to break through the initial barrier for thousands of years, and the true Creator hadn't had a chosen one for hundreds of years.

"I look a bit disheveled, but thankfully no one saw me..." The wealthy and dignified Outer God patted his tattered clothes, sighed, and secretly rejoiced that he didn't know anyone here. But then he heard a somewhat familiar voice: "My God! Mr. Wei Gao, what happened to you!"

Wei Gao looked up and saw a face he had just seen yesterday.

It's Benson.

Wei Gao gritted his teeth, feeling shame for the first time at being treated like a mortal. He chuckled and forced an explanation: "There was an explosion last night, and I unfortunately happened to be passing by"

"The place where the explosion happened yesterday wasn't…" Klein instinctively wanted to say, but his intuition told him he absolutely couldn't continue, allowing him to thankfully stop himself from uttering the words. Klein looked at Wei Gao unfriendly expression and gave an awkward smile.

Wait a minute, Klein! We can't talk about the place that exploded yesterday! Just pretend we don't know… *cough cough*, men do go to places like that eventually… Melissa's still right next to him, controlling his expression, controlling his expression Klein was internally screaming, when he heard Wei Gao continue:

"Fortunately, I'm in the outer areas. So I look a bit disheveled, but I'm actually not badly injured... I'm waiting for my friend to pick me up hehe, he should be here soon. By the way, Mr. Benson, what are you planning to do?"

Benson smiled and said to Wei Gao, "I have to thank you for this. Because of your contract, my salary has increased to two pounds a week. My brother also found a new job at the security company, so I need to find a better place for my younger siblings to live."

"Indeed, it's not easy for your sister to live in that kind of place. Anyway, congratulations on your raise…" Gao Wei said with a smile, "Once you've settled down, you must invite me over. I'll probably be handing over business with you for the next few years."

"That's for sure." Benson exchanged a few more polite words with Wei Gao, then said goodbye and went into the lobby of the Tingen City Housing Improvement Company to discuss rental arrangements with the staff. Wei Gao stood up, supporting himself with his cane. The weakness of this body was a novel experience for him, who had lived in this world for countless years; he had almost forgotten what his body looked like when he was still human.

"Your Excellency, who are they…" A voice came from beside Wei Gao. Wei Gao turned his head and saw that Mr. Z, with bloodstains on the corner of his mouth, had been standing next to him at some point. Wei Gao chuckled and replied, "These are employees from the company that cooperates with my factory. They are here to choose which new house to rent."

"I see... Your Excellency, should we cultivate them into the Lambs of the Lord?" After a long silence, Mr. Z suddenly spoke. Wei Gao immediately turned to look at Mr. Z, his expression unreadable. Mr. Z, feeling a chill run down his spine under his gaze, couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong? Did I say something wrong?"

"Let's find a place to stay first; this place is too conspicuous," Wei Gao sighed, and strode forward. He casually bought a newspaper and looked at the rental listings. Then, he said to Mr. Z beside him, "Let's go to 16 Champagne Street and rent a place temporarily. There shouldn't be any survivors from the previous explosion."

"It is their honor to sacrifice for the Lord. But Your Excellency, what did you mean just now? I don't understand, did I say something wrong?" Mr. Z replied, though a hint of dissatisfaction lingered in his tone. It was clear that the members of the Aurora Society, under the influence of the True Creator's ramblings, were unlikely to have good tempers or personalities, and Mr. Z's respect for the High Dimension was limited to the divine message conveyed by the True Creator during a brief moment of chaos and clarity. The High Dimension, this "secret inquisitor," had just given him a rather offensive look, leaving Mr. Z slightly displeased.

"You're now the 'Rose Bishop' of Sequence Six, right, Mr. Z?" Wei Gao said to Mr. Z as they walked. "But even in Tingen, you're not invincible as a Sequence Six. A well-prepared Night Watch squad, or even Demon Hunter bullets, can kill you, right?"

"Yes," Mr. Z said in a low voice.

"Then don't keep increasing the number of believers for the Lord without limit," Wei Gao said. "Your missionary work has always been limited to the lower and middle classes. The help these people can provide for the Lord is limited. Even hundreds of them are not as useful to the Lord's state as one spiritually stable messenger like you. Only anchors of sufficient quality can help the Lord restore his former glory more quickly. Think about it, what will happen to the remaining Aurora Society members in Tingen if you die?"

"..." Mr. Z was silent for a while: "Even if headquarters sends a new Mr. Z, it probably won't be able to save the lambs from before... Sigh."

"The quality is sufficient..." He pondered Wei Gao words, his expression turning grim. "Could it be that our grazing methods are flawed, causing the Lord to withhold divine pronouncements for so long? Is it due to our mistakes..."

Seeing that Mr. Z was about to be torn to pieces in public, Gao Wei promptly patted Mr. Z on the shoulder, pulling him out of his self-reproach. Gao Wei held Mr. Z's shoulder and said to him quite seriously:

"No, it's not your fault. I've only just become the Lord's confidant, while you've already dedicated so much time to Him what you've done has indeed awakened the Lord, otherwise I wouldn't be able to speak with Him. It's just that under the depravity of all beings, the awakened cannot fight against this corrupt age. But the Lord is the most awakened person in this world; He loves all beings and can only bear their depravity for them. That's why the Lord is mad; He shouldn't be called an evil god. We've gone astray, Mr. Z."

Mr. Z sighed and said to Wei Gao, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have questioned your identity to be a follower of the Lord, you possess a piety commensurate with the Lord's wisdom."

"We will definitely make the Lord shine with the glory He once possessed," Wei Gao said as he and Mr. Z walked toward their destination.

The higher-dimensional observer coldly gazed upon the Forsaken Land, slowly corrupting a mutated creature into its own minion with its gaze. It manipulated this body, standing cautiously before the true creator.

"Outer God..." the colossal, upside-down giant murmured deafeningly, "Why are you helping me... I can't betray Earth..."

"This is a transaction," the High Dimensional Overlord said indifferently, manipulating his avatar to walk across the earth, confirming the true Creator's favor upon it. What a dishonest god, the High Dimensional Overlord scoffed. If others discovered this behavior, he would be branded a traitor no, even if the true Creator were here, even if he did nothing, he would still be regarded as an evil god by the seven gods walking the mortal realm. The ancient sun god has fallen to this state; it's truly lamentable.

"...A transaction?" the True Creator asked in confusion.

"I don't want your divine half to become an ancient sun god, and I don't want to see God born." The high-dimensional observer said quite frankly, "Unlike my poor brethren, my source matter is still within me, and my pathway is not damaged in the slightest—I have no interest in destroying the earth, and I even want to see it perform a wonderful drama for me to soar into the stars."

"What do you want..."

"It's very simple. I need you to let my avatar walk on the earth as a follower of the true Creator. And I will gradually awaken you in the outside world, making you come to your senses" the High Dimensional Overlord said. "In addition, I will unconditionally support the person chosen by the Night, allowing him to replace the Celestial Venerable as the Lord of Mysteries but this is conditional. In any case, 'God' cannot be born."

"..."

After a long while, the true Creator murmured:

"good--"

"I will too, watching the people chosen by the darkness..."
